Cailyn's photo shoot

In May, I did a quick photo shoot of Cailyn in our backyard area. She did a pretty good job and here are some of my favorites. She was wearing a cute yellow sweater in honor of her Oma (grandma Garces), since I was trying to get a good picture to give her for her birthday. The bottom right 2 pictures are my favorites.

April 2011

April was a great month. Cailyn continues to grow. She surprises us everyday. She now knows how to play computer games. She just crawls up and starts moving the mouse. We found some baby games that will make something pop out whenever you touch any key on the keyboard that she really enjoys playing. Also, to my chagrin, she is turning out to be a little girly. Anything that has a strap or handle she puts over her shoulder like a purse and walks around so proud of herself.
Luke and I went the the Ringling Brother and Barnum and Bailey circus. We had a great time! Luke loved the motorcycles inside the sphere. They had 7 in there at once! Luke said, "It was awesome!"
We went to the lake for Spring Break. It was a little cold, but Luke went into the water. While he was shivering and his lips were turning purple he said he was loving it! We had the Easter egg hunt Saturday morning so that the grandparents could enjoy the fun.

March 2011

So I know it's been forever since I've blogged. I hope you all forgive me, but the school year is a pretty hectic time. As you'll see in the coming posts, we've been a little overly busy, as well, this past year. I had to reformat our computer and I saved all the pictures, but the ones between the last time I last posted and March are now on CDs and I'm too lazy to put them up. Rest assured, we had a very fun fall and winter and my kids were adorable as Bob the Builder(Luke) and a zebra (Cailyn) at Halloween and enjoyed all the other holidays, too.

Here is a collage of Cailyn's 1st birthday. She was surrounded by family and friends and did her part getting messy with her birthday cupcake. I made 2 cakes for her party and the plethora of family that was there.

Yes, Luke is really 3! I can't believe it. He is an amazing kid.

Here are more cute pictures of my kids from September and October.

The rest of the summer

Summer was filled with fun adventures with family. We went to see the Potomoc Nationals Minor league baseball game with Aunt Marian. We also went to Frying Pan Park farm and Reston Zoo with Kaleb and Aunt Patty. In July we honored the one year anniversary of my grandfather's death by visiting him at Arlington National Cemetary.
As always, we enjoyed going to the lake house at Smith Mountain Lake. A lot of the Haights were there. We loved seeing everyone and playing. Luke had fun with all the cousins, but had a blast with Megan. Luke tried to go on the tube with me, but the boat started pulling us under the water and Luke fell off the tube. It is actually a really funny video that Il'l have to post sometime (yes, his fater kept filming the whole time).

A few picture updates

Since I haven't updated since Cailyn was born here are a few pictures, with the promise of more to come. We had a wonderful summer. I thoroughly enjoyed being home with my 2 kiddos and we had a lot of fun. Now it's October and we're back into the swing of our crazy lives with work, school, and trying to still fit in a bit of play. Cailyn is growing so fast and is already crawling and pulling herself to standing. Luke is a wonderful big brother who likes to sing songs to Cailyn and generally shares his toys. They are both a joy and Mike and I are so happy with our family!
