Act lll

Alternate Ending
Helmer: But please we were meant for each other Nora!( he says capriciously)  Your my little skylark.
Nora: See Torvald you just don't get it! You see how your treating me now!
Helmer:Of course... like the love of my life( as he walks up to Nora, puts his hand on her face and stares into her eyes tumultously)
Nora: No like a damn child!( as she throws his hand off her face)
Helmer: Nora!
Nora: Its true Torvalds ! This whole time I lived with you deprived me of everything! Now i'm incompetent and only know what to do as I'm told!
Torvald:I-
Nora-I don't even wanna hear it. Save your pet names for the next blind woman to walk in here not knowing what she's  dealing with, because I'm leaving now!
Helmer: Nora I-What-Wait! Please stop anything
Nora: Oh don't worry Torvald this isn't an evasion... I'm a free woman(slams the door on her way out)
Two months later Nora got a job as a news reporter and  then wrote an article about marriage the difference between love and possession. While in the process Nora attained shared custody of her kids. Mrs. Linde and Krogstad are still talking and Krogstad is surprisingly happy. It's now the opposite with Torvald he sold his big old house because he couldn't bear all the empty space there without his little skylark. Dr.Rank sadly passed away after the break up of  Torvald and Nora so for the most part most of them are li ving happily.

Act 2

In Act 2 of The Dolls House things get very interesting when it comes to relationships of characters. First I would like to touch upon what happened between  Dr. Rank and Nora. Nora obviously needed money so she went to someone (Dr.Rank) and she didn't just jauntily ask him. Nora reaproaches Dr.Rank Using this quote " Silky stockings.., flesh colored aren't they lovely..."(Ibsen200). Yet it is still intolerable  for Nora to think about what life would be like for her kids without her a direct quote is "Do you think they would forget their mother? If she went away altogether?"(Ibsen200).
Then Ms .Linde comes to aid Nora to stop retribution  by Krogstad .Stopping the letter  from being opened which contains all the information and secrets Nora held from Helmer. At this point Nora is hysterical  because she doesn't know what will happen if Helmer finds out. Or if she should just run away and start all over leaving everything behind or ending life. Do you think Nora should run away or just end her life? How do you feel about her and Dr.Rank?

Act 1

I feel Nora and Helmer have a few struggles in their marriage, which most do.  Helmer has a thing  for calling his wife pet names like a squirrel or a bird which is frivolous. In my opinion I feel as if Helmer doesn't really respect his wife and he thinks she feels special or loved by the stupid pet names he calls her. Helmer is not all to blame for the soon downhill marriage, Nora is very secretive and a liar.In Nora's situation of amortization to Krogstad all of her past is now coming to light.
Nora's stress and guilt is building up from this quote from Krogstad" The curious thing is that your father signed this note of hand three days after his death"(pg174), which starts with why  Nora is having to pay back debt. Then being told this quote by Helmer " A man can redeem his character if he freely confess his guilt and takes his punishment" (pg179) another quote from Helmer is "...people who steal are untrustworthy and corrupt children"(pg179). With all of this being said I think and believe Nora is going to be in advancement trying to figure out what she can do to protect her kids, come out to Helmer, and pay her debts.
In Nora's situation I would come clean about all the lies I've told my husband and hope he forgives me. Nora is already feeling vehemently from all the stuff she did in the past that's coming back now. So the best thing I think she should do is just be honest. What would you do in a situation like Nora's? If you told the truth to Helmer about all the lies you told how do you think he would react?

Henrick Ibsen

Hey it's Savannah. I would first like to say there are a few things I enjoyed in English class this year. Some of those things are working with other people, also having time in class to just write our thoughts. Next we have is Henrik Ibsen a famous playwriter, born March 20,1828, and passed away May 23,1906 born in Skien, Norway. As a young child people saw theatrical genius in him since his mother was into arts. She played piano, painted, and loved going to the theater. I'm guessing it passed on to him knowing how good of a playwright he was.
One year Ibsen had an encounter with a violinist and theater manager and got offered a job, with that came his fame. His plays launched his career greatly and he then came out with his most famous playwright "A Dolls House". In 1891 Ibsen returned home as a literary hero. Ibsens later works seem to name more self- reflective quality which gives the play even more meaning.
