La belle année

Happy new year to everybody!! :) 2007 was a year of new things . Seriously, so many new stuff happened this year... some hard, some nasty, but lots of them good... The last year of high school brought about (and still brings) many sleep-deprived nights, university applications, graduation approaching :O:O, new friends (lol even in our last year!), and new opportunities. But the most surprising thing? A lot of my dreams came true. No, really!! This year, by God's grace: - sang with the choir in Vancouver.. ASIAN COUNTRY LOL - went to the PHILIPPINES!!! .. after 5 long years!! - reunioned with family.. joked, talked and stayed up late with my cousins.. spent time with my lola, uncles and aunts - met up with JCA classmates.. played the piano for Miko and hugged my friends :D.. had the best night out ever with them - camped out, played Mario Party and chilled with Natalie and ate Karissa.. like old times :D - braces came off :) - saw cherry blossoms blooming under the full moon in our ...

CHRISTMAS IS HERE!!!

Image
Yaaayyyyy!!! The long-awaited Christmas break is finally here! :D Good news - our popsicle bridge was a huge success !!!! It held more than 150 lbs! It only broke after the teacher used a 25-lb. weight to smash it. Whoooooo. We christened it Fluffy. :D Hahaha.. I'll upload the pics and video(s) later. Thursday and Friday were loooong days. I stayed til 10 pm at Monica's to finish Fluffy the bridge... it's a miracle that I managed to work with my headache/dizziness (it was the same ickiness as when we first arrived at Singapore - NOT a pleasant feeling). This was the third time in a week that their family fed me dinner. Thank you so much!!! Right afterwards, I actually still made Christmas cards and baked cookies from scratch . I'm crazy, aren't I? xDDD Hahaha.. but it felt so good the next day, seeing the fruits of my/our labour. Watched The Christmas Shoes in Bio class (so saddd!!! :'( ), gave cookies to everyone I met/knew (lol)... and of course, had the Br...

3 more days...

Just three more labour-intensive, sleep-deprived days of SCHOOL and SUCH... Here's a quick recap of what's been going on... pics later :) THURSDAY - vball tournament the whole day - Christmas concert at school SATURDAY - Jaimee's birthday @ Boston pizza... fun + food! - the start of the storm SUNDAY - snowed in - didn't go anywhere due to piles of SNOW MONDAY - vball practice, bridge-building -> we got perfect on the design proposal!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D TODAY - game... we lost D: - Christmas social... played fun fun Soul Calibur, Super Smash Bros Melee, ate pizza... but I had to leave early Yeah, I have to get back to studying now... :] PS: Did I mention that Castle in the Sky was amazing ? :D:D So was episode 312: The Western Air Temple (when I realized last episode the implications of Zuko following Aang and the gang... ohohoho) And the Naruto manga is getting pretty good... if only Jiraiya doesn't die!!

BLARGH

I will be extremely happy once fourth period is over tomorrow.

[insert distracted expression here]

Aaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhhhh. I've got no motivation to blog anymore. It's not that nothing's happening, it's that there's hardly any point for me to update since barely anyone reads it. :[ I noticed that during school I've been going to the science department pretty often... I'm like there the whole day, even lunch... maybe it's got something to do with my future career?!?! :O:O Hahaha... or maybe it's just coz I have so many questions... x) Anyways, CHRISTMAS IS COMING UP!!! We've been putting up decorations around the house, and all the lights look so nice~! I can't wait... like the song says, it's the most wonderful time of the year! :) Oh yeah, and I'm very happy to say that I'm getting better at driving! :D Our usual routine is like this: my mom drives me to the examination area (where there aren't a lot of cars), then she makes me drive around... afterwards, we stop by at Tim Hortons to get timbits! Hurraaayyy... I never thoug...

WE GOT A WII!!!!! Hahaha. Odd. But I'm glad. Mom, Russ and I went to Buffalo yesterday to pick up Papa from the airport... while waiting, we went shopping, ate dinner (mmm beef teriyaki), visited the Apple store (IPHONES!!!*) and went to Borders. We spent quite some time there, just reading, doing homework (or at least trying to), and sipping hot chocolate. We then drove off to the airport, and then returned home... hardly any traffic, too. :] * iPhones are like wow. It's like... putting an iMac, an iPod, a camera, a road map, EVERYTHING into one little rectangle. Pretty neat. Oh man, I should really be going to bed now... toodles. :)

Peace. Love. Enjoy.

Oh wow. LOOOONG day. - woke up at 6:00 am - cooked breakfast (omelette).. but didn't have time to eat it *o*;; - morning vball practice - Bio: laptops and all - Spare: went w/ Josh to volunteer for Ms. Sperandei... helped out with Gr 10 chem lab... twas interestingly messed, haha - Lunch: Bio Bio Bio :P - Math: here we go again with expooooonents - Physics: more electricity, and more intimidation with the bridge culminating task - student council after school... the meeting was soooo long - stayed back til around 5-ish, drawing the "guy standing on the podium" for the student council bulletin board... I must've looked at it 10+ times; I was so pleased that it actually turned out looking like a guy (with cool hair!) :] - bussed to the terminal w/ Celine, who encouraged me to buy supplies for the bridge... SO I DID - went to Walmart to buy random needed stuff :P - saw "Peace. Love. Enjoy." on one of the store windows... hahaha!!! (jokes from JJ) - after much w...

PD day!

We had a PD (professional development) day today, meaning NO CLASSES!!! :D Celebrated the "absence of homework" by going out with Yoo Jung, Monica and Rana. Ate lunch at a chinese buffet... though the meal was not extraordinary, to be honest (even Mandarin has better food... not to mention a cleaner setting!) We walked around the mall a bit, then Rana had to leave... I had to return home too, so the rest of us bussed to our place :D. Spent the evening (it gets dark quite early now) amusing ourselves with the magnetic words on the fridge and watching random videos/radio shows. I gotta thank Auntie Judith for those magnetic words again... they're HILARIOUS!!!!!! x) Some examples that friends and family have compiled over time: "I was going to be myself but whatever" "I was here? I don't know" "If I give you nothing you're insignificant" "The squirrels did most of it!" Hahaha :). Ahh... today was a day of well-deserved relaxati...

Happy Birthday to ATE KARISSA !!! Have a memorable and fun-filled day! God bless you :) * * * Ahhh, I've been going through pictures from 6 years ago, Christmas 2001 in Bohol. I really, really miss the Philippines... :( It feels weird to think that I was just there a few months ago... time flies. My childhood will always have a special place in my heart. :) Family pic, December 2001 (aww we were so cute! :D hahaha) * * * I've been watching a number of animations lately, and here are my comments... 1.) Avatar: Book 3: Fire Chapter 6 (The Fire Lord and the Avatar) and chapter 8 (The Puppetmaster) were absolutely INCREDIBLE. They literally kept me on the edge of my seat and made my hair stand on end!! Creepy new techniques, plot twists... ohoho~ :D 2.) Princess Mononoke It was awesome! Better than Nausicäa, IMO (lol). The characters were likeable (I actually liked Lady Eboshi... haha), the plotline was alright, and the animation was stunning, as usual. The voice actors were a plus...

Halloween + STRESS (LOL)

Image
H a p p y H a l l o w e e n ! ! ! :) I can't wait to give out candies... and then eat the leftovers. Hahaha! :9 Oh, speaking of which, I have to dress up tmr at school as... something . Dunno what. I've got a few minutes before bedtime to decide... :[ Lately it's all been schoolwork, after-school stuff, scholarship applications (URGHHH), too much food and not enough exercise. Not to mention complete LACK OF SLEEP. *___* So much stuff to do, it's making me all stressed... like today in Bio, the genome lab totally killed all the patience left in me. :'( I really don't like it when I'm hassled, because a.) I start getting mean... uh-oh... b.) I start to CRY. BOOOO. Okay, anyways... last Sunday we had Halloween at Cabot! I was in the Harry Potter room (yay for the best room!!), so I dressed up as Cho Chang. LOL. Here's a pic: It's Harry, Snape, Cho and Ron!! Hahaha! We were doing the Potions station. It was actually pretty fun. The little kids liked it ...

BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEI2. :) A big, huge THANK YOU to everybody who made my day(s) amazing!!! :D You guys are awesome. Some pics from my mini-party last Saturday~ You know you like those antennae!! The seat where Kayla was supposed to be. LOL Bernadka, me, Monica, Rana, enjoying our FEAST in the kitchen! We quite liked the candles. :) Happy birthday... ... to me :] o Praise the Lord for another year :D

mwahaha reading frenzy!

So last spring I got into a baking frenzy (probably a belated influence from Janine). Now... I thought Tsubasa was sweet and Harry Potter was addictive. Until I read TWILIGHT . OH MAN, it's crazy good! I think it's the kilig factor. I couldn't stop flipping the pages... darn, I got hooked. :) Yeah, so who cares if it's a trend or a bandwagon. Just wished I didn't have this Bio unit test to study for... hahaha. Oh yeah... remember this? :D

mixed feelings

Guess WHAT?! Mei2 is now BRACELESS!!! :D The only thing is, I have to wear this *ARGH* retainer for at least a year... >:( I remember when the ortho was telling me to keep them on 24/7... I wanted to cryyyyy. :'( At least I can feel my teeth now... they feel odd. Lol. Ack, no motivation at the moment... Inspire me.

We had a PD day yesterday, so we went off to the Ontario Universities' Fair downtown. So fun!! Monica, Seon and I bussed to the subway station, where we randomly met Mathusha, Delicia and Ina. :P (pics courtesy of Monica's camera! thanks~) A lovely pic of our behinds :) There were SO MANY people at the convention centre!!! It was a good thing we came slightly earlier (than the rest of them, mwahaha~). Attended the U of T presentation first... the presentor was the same guy who came to our school! LOL!! Delicia kept trying to get pics of him, and meanwhile I tried to eat a muffin with my elastics on. Afterwards, we went off to the exhibition hall, where we got free bags and LOADS of booklets. Saw several classmates... asked the university reps questions... oh man, I hard such a hard time thinking up what to ask! But it went well, and I learned lots. Delicia, Monica, Ina, Seon, Naim, me, Justin at the exhibition hall After that, I had a strong urge to stay for the Queen's Uni...

SO SO MANY things have happened. First of all, at the end of summer we all went to Ohio to visit my cousins. They still speak in Tagalog! Wahaha! :D And of course, SCHOOL has started. Last year of high school, can you believe that? Anyways, my sched is as follows: 1] Biology 2] SPARE (wooot! gotta love that spare) 3A] Lunch 3BC] Advanced Functions 4] Physics What a science-y/math-y semester... but that's OK... I'm not ready for essays yet. :P Also joined several extracurriculars, including morning announcements on Thursdays. Hahaha... I'm gonna take revenge on those annoying people who used to shout in previous years, "5 MINUTES!! START RUNNING!!!" >:D LOL... oh yeah... some pics from Singapore! This is for YOU, Nat! (: At the FEBC office Gibbz and Ate Karissa "having fun" :P The Night Safari! The plushies look like us. Jk! AHHH CABLE CAR STOPPING!!! Poor Gibby having his hand eaten by the fortune-telling statue. Underside of a fish... or whateve...

The summer of new things

The past few weeks/days have actually been quite busy... last week Russell, Mom and I volunteered with the VBS at Mom's work. It was fun ! The kids were really cute and funny... not to mention hyperactive and makulit ... lol one of them looked like Luna Lovegood from HP5!! Hahaha. Skits, crafts, games, small groups and songs... and then the presentation on Sunday morning... twas all good. :) And then the exciting news!! (aka "new things") 1.) I PASSED THE G1 TEST!!!! Even though my grades disappointed me, what the heck, I still passed. :D 2.) I GOT A NEW CELLPHONE!!!!!! Haha yeah, from the number of exclamation points you can tell that I'm way more excited about my new phone than about my temporary driver's license. :) It's a Sony Ericsson w810i... actually very similar to Natalie's, only it doesn't have the slider feature. But YAY, not only am I not restricted to prepaid cards anymore, I can actually listen to an mp3 player without having to share wi...

Some CDs I want to get: Silent Sanctuary | Fuschiang Pag-ibig YUI | Can't Buy My Love RaNdOm!! Hehe. Am at Mom's office right now... I'm supposed to help her give a Dreamweaver MX tutorial to someone from the church (where my mom works). Nothing much has been going on lately. We went "camping" with our church last weekend... I liked lying down with a blanket under the stars, listening to music. We saw several shooting stars! (: Oh yeah... Raymond's been playing Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria on the PS2. It's a pretty sick game. :D The characters say the funniest/weirdest things, haha. Now I wanna play the first one (VP: Lenneth), but they don't sell it anymore, and it's for PS1. D: And this was a commercial I saw in the Philippines... hahaha Dati ang gulay ‘di ko tinitikman Parati na lang iniiwasan Pero ang gulay ay masarap pala Kapag sinabawan mo siya Makulay (makulay) Ang buhay (ang buhay) Makulay ang buhay Sa sinabawang gulay Sinabawang gulay, s...

PHILIPPINES~

Image
OK, so we're back. It's been almost a week since we arrived from the Philippines, and MAN do I miss it. It was definitely the time of my life. And while I was there, I made sure to look around the surroundings... a lot of things have changed. Some streets look wider, but a lot just look cramped. Our old house now officially looks like a haunted house, thanks to the fact that everything is overgrown and all jungle-y. o__O Ate taho, squidball, Jollibee, Red Ribbon, you name it... Went shopping so often that I got tired of it. But everything is still cheap! Yeyy. Also went to so many places... Batangas, Cebu, Sumilon, Singapore, SM Mall of Asia (haha!)... tired of airplanes now. :P But what I miss most of all is the people... I don't know why, but most people there have such a laid-back and hilarious personality (compared to here, I mean). Being with my cousins was so fun(ny)... this is what I've been missing for 5 years now. Was able to visit my lola and relatives in Cebu...

At the airport

We're leaving Singapore today. I'm so saddd!!! :'( This was the best weekend I've had in years! Boo... I already miss Natalie and ate Karissa. :(( Mom and I are at the airport right now, availing of the free Internet usage. :P Our flight's not til 8:40, so there's still lots of time left. I don't wanna go home yet.

SINGAPOREEE

Whoo! I'm in Natalie's house right now!!! We arrived in Singapore on Friday; everything is so clean and organized here. :P Ahh... it's been such a long and fun day that I can't even concentrate on what to type. Point form time! - "How are yo" : that's what it says on my pyjamas!! LOL!!! - went to Sentosa island by cable car - saw pink dolphins (with the mushy bg music!) - toured around Underwater world (so cool! all the jellyfish/sharks/manta rays floating around) - went to the butterfly farm - took the MRT back to Vivo city - ate some prawn/chicken takoyaki + thai food - Vivo city is so cooooool!! :D I appreciate pretty structures & layouts - ate at Carl's Jr. (was this my first time?? haha) all the food was extremely good (hey, that rhymes!) - shopped around Precious Thots, Mini Toons, etc... saw cute stuff - went to Daiso Japan (everything for $2)... and you know how I go nuts at anything Japanese! So everything there fascinated me, haha We...

LEAVING ON A JETPLANE!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're going to the Philippines tomorrow !!! My mind still can't get over it... I've been waiting for this for *five* years, and now it's here. So why am I not excited yet? .__.? Weird. Anyways, I gotta go finish packing. ^__^; Ja.. ittekimasu.

Just a quickie... leaving for Vancouver in about... 6 1/2 hours. :) See you soontimes. :D

Le gasp!!!

Countdown to Vancouver trip: 5 days (still have lots of prepping to do!) Countdown to Philippines trip: 15 days ( ***** Sometimes I have a hard time differentiating between dreams and reality. Is that weird? (OK fine, maybe it is) I've been so out of it for like, the past few months. :P Even though summer's officially here, I need to focus now more than ever!!! And I was thinking of this this morning... Jesus put a song in my heart He turned my life around He gave me a treasure The heart of a servant Jesus put a song in my heart What joyful melody He sings of His wonderful love ^__^

WHOOOO!

Exams are FINITO !!!! Russell's graduation is tonight. Raymond's graduation is ALSO tonight. They both have to be at their respective places by 6:15 pm. LOL. I'm going to Russell's and my parents are going to Raymond's. It's gonna be one hectic night. :D

I am blessed

I lost the elections. I'm thinking it may have been because of my messed-up speech. D: I'm not gonna lie and say I wasn't regretful. It still makes me sad, especially because I know I could have done a good job as grade rep. But I've learned my lesson (i.e. BRING CUE CARDS!!!). It was a good experience. And wow, after this campaign I realized that God has blessed me with such awesome friends and family. They cheered for me the whole way, hugged me when I lost, gave me advice for next time (whenever that may be :P). So now I know what to do if ever I'm running for a position... I think this is God's way of telling me that I need to humble myself, and depend on Him more. Anyways, tomorrow's the athletic banquet!!! :D Mom and I went shopping for clothes (and also for the wedding/reception we're attending on Friday), and OOH - all those skirts and tops made my eyes smile. :) It'll be a great night.

Crazy days

Mom and Dad left for Vancouver (vacation) had Chinese written exam.... DONE! whooooo! going to Carassauga with Russell Also, I'm running for Grade 12 rep. for next year. =O It's true. I'm both excited and scared... I'll just have to depend on God for this, no matter what the outcome. B)

Passion

I think I've found my passion. Not arts or drawing. Not science or math. LANGUAGES.

Happpppyy. =D

I just HAD to post. It's been such a great week. TUESDAY On the way to school my nose BLED . And it hasn't bled since I was a little kid. So I had to wait in the washroom until it stopped bleeding, which took a while... good thing my tissue box was handy. :D After school, went to the junior badminton practice, and practiced smashing/serving with Andrew. I think something's wrong with me; I can't seem to smash anymore. D: Lol. Went home with Addie & Shiena, then had a long choir practice at LAC. Lotsa high notes. x( WEDNESDAY In the evening, my whole family went to see Russell's school play, "Arabian Night-Fever." Russell starred as Aladdin!! And it was really good!!! I can't believe how mature my brother looks up on the stage... I'm so proud of him. :D THURSDAY My big bro left with the school band for New York. Hope he has fun there. :D Met Dawnie on the way home today. =) Made SUSHI for dinner after school. It was so much yummier than last ti...

復活節 - Easter

Happy Resurrection Day! :D Today Russell got baptized! Whooooo-! He was the only one who got baptized (can you believe that? the other people couldn't make it), and everyone tried to scare him by saying that the water was "freezing cold!" Haha. 'Twas cool; I'm really happy for my brother. :D (and as usual, ate @ Umi Sushi afterwards... it's like our official eat-out place now) No classes again tomorrow... planning on going to JJ's with my bros to play some TEKKEN 5. :O PS: I have a SPARE next year! It's coz my programming class got canceled. Hoooohohoho, unbelievable. =D

Good Friday

When I survey the wondrous Cross On which the Prince of Glory died My riches gained I count but loss And pour contempt on all my pride Oh the wonderful Cross Oh the wonderful Cross Bids me come and die And find that I may truly live Oh the wonderful Cross Oh the wonderful Cross All who gather here By grace draw near and bless Your name He died for you and me. Will you accept His gift?

NEW LAYOUT, GUYYY

Finally! After not having posted here for so long (because I was so hesitant to create a Google account :P)... here's a new layout. I really like the umbrella image. And good thing I was able to find a Bible verse that matched the theme. Hope you like. (: Yeah, it's March Break here... had Winter Retreat last weekend, which was very fun and refreshing indeed. :D Yesterday, had friends over to make SUSHI~!!! 'Twas my first time making it, and it turned out good even though I just learnt it over the internet. xD (Note to self: We gotta stock up on seaweed and rice vinegar and all.) Also lighted some sparklers (:D), watched Pan's Labyrinth (pirated! xDDD It was twisted, but pretty good nonetheless), played Pictionary, baked cinnamon rolls and put bday candles on them (since it was Bernadka/Rana's bdays)... etc. And saw this one squirrel that looked like something had eaten its fur off. o____O;; Today my parents and I accompanied Ray to one of the universities he might ...

Valentine's Day

Image
10 minutes til Valentine's Day ~ Yeah, so even though I don't have a valentine, just wanted to spread the love. I love you guys, and Jesus loves you WAY more than anyone could ever love you! And on a side note: Forget that cheap body mist I bought some time ago. St. Ives Swiss Vanilla Lotion is THE BEST ! It smells SO good! Like a mixture of vanilla and almond. I can't stop sniffing my hands. *sniffs* Yummm... Snowstorming on Valentine's Day, eh? I wonder if there's school tomorrow.
