Reflection ATC

Hi All

The theme set for this month for The Scrapbook Cupboard's www.scrapbookcupboard.com.au monthly swap was reflection. I swear the themes are getting challenging. But it took me a while to decide on this one. I started of with mirrors and changed my mind, then I thought candles and reflect that way as we lost a family member at the end of January. While I was out shopping at a craft store yesterday I came across this quote on a stamp and this was it. This ATC is titled Reflection (of a caterpillar). This came together quite quickly as I painted the chipboard, used my success stamp and brown stazon for the background words, used my friend Google Images for the images and the words from the stamp. The words are Just when the caterpillar thought hte world was over, it became a beautiful butterfly. - Anonymous. This is one of my favourites so far.
Hope you all like it. The girls in the swap are looking forward to this one from me.

Till Next Tim

Two more down

Hi All

Of the 8 cards I said I would do for the Advanced ATC group I managed to get three done. I have already shown you all the first one -Lady in a Leaf Dress. Here are the last two. Lucy in the sky with diamonds and Princess and the Frog. It took me a while to decide on what to do. With the ATC Diamonds I have actually used a photo from 1969 of my Mum. It suited the ATC so well. I like the way the background turned out which inspired me towards this. THe background on the Diamonds card is nice and shimmery as I used Glimmer Mist in Graphite and a little Antique Brass.

Enjoy, til next time XoX

Finally, it is done. After much thinking, pondering and gee what will I do this time. To me each one has to be better than the last or at least very different. In the end I just sat down and played and was happy with the end result. I must say that for this image this is one of the times where I have enjoyed the larger image.

Now to move onto the rest of my February swaps that are due and the image for March.

Till next time

Little Leaf Dress

Hi all

Here is one of the eight cards I am supposed to make for the Advanced ATC UK yahoo group. At this stage if I get four done then I am happy.

This one is Lady in Leaf Dress which I called Little Leaf Dress. I am really happy with the way this one turned out. I had every intention of embossing the background but just the clear versamark looked great and shows the detail of the stamp that I used.

Hopefully I can get the rest done this week.

Till next time.

XoX.

A sad day and popcorn

Hi all

What a busy week our family has had. On Saturday 31 January 2009, Justin's Mum lost her brave 7 year battle with cancer aged only 57. I am so thankful that he made it back in time to be with her for her final hours. There were concerns that he would not get back but he did. Somehow I think she waited till he was there. The service was on Thursday in New Zealand and the weather was perfect. There was actually sunshine. It was an emotional day for sure. My girls were aware of what was happening as were there cousins. For these four girls they get on so well you wouldn't think that they only see each other every couple of years. Katie was very teary.

L-R Katie 7, Aimee 6, Hannah 4, Claire 5.

After a day of saying goodbye to Grandma, what else can you do? Well we made popcorn and they watched a movie. One movie that was enjoyed was Mamma Mia. Somehow I think I will be buying this one.

Here are all the girls having fun eating popcorn. Up until this day Claire did not eat it. This is one child who continues to surprise me.

A game for you

Last week, I was given a challenge by my friend Belynda. Which is that you go to your sixth photo folder and upload the 6th photo. Well my computer was updated a few weeks ago and I had no idea what I had here. Thankfully I have all of the photos that Justin had up loaded. I quite like this one. It was taken in December 2005. Katie is 4 and Claire is 2 at the daycare kindy concert I think.
