3 weeks to go

gettin a bit nervous now only 3 weeks to go, got our new tent yesterday, nice and easy to put up, fingers crossed its gonna do the job, time to start thinking about what were taking with us then its time to start the panic, am getting excited now tho really looking forward to it :-)

Castleton and peak ferest circular walk



Castleton

 did another practice walk on sunday, and again the weather was great, was only a 7 mile walk but a really good walk starting in Castleton-Winnats-Sweetknoll-Peak Forest-Old Dam Lane-Oxlow Rake-Limestone Way-Cave Dale back to Castleton walking along Moorland paths and tracks and a rocky dale path, got some great picks that you can see if you look at the practice walk pics link, this link is to photobucket where there are also pics of some of the mountain walks me and sean have done over the past two years.


The good thin about the walk is that Sean got some practice using the maps and we got a bit of a feel of what to expect on the coast to coast, and i got some practice on the dreaded stiles that my brain and legs dont seem to be in sink when climbing over them lol.

Practice walks

Started doing practice walks last week, been so lucky with the weather, did about 15 miles last week starting in Hyde we walked up the canal to Marple, down to Compstall and then up over Werneth low and back to Hyde, yesterday we started by walking over werneth low, down the woods to etherow park, through brabyns park and back down the canal from marple, dont know how many miles we did but was a great walk, will be adding some pics :-)
