Yay for baby Alex

Rebecca had her baby late sunday night. She was schedualed to be induced on tuesday morning and went into Labor on her own on suday. It was kind of sad because Robert didn't get home from being out to sea until Monday at 11 am. She had the baby 12 hours before he got home. How ironic is that!? He's out to sea in the Navy for 8 months....and 12 hours before he gets home his baby is born. Missed it by only half a day. So sad. He hade it there while Becca was still in the hospital though, so that's a plus. Alex was 7lbs 5ounces and 20 inches long. Becca only had to push for 20 mins and from what I hear makes having babies look easy. She's had no pain, taken no pain meds, had no problem nursing, she is obviously meant to have 10 children (she can handle it). I'm so sad I wasn't there to be with everyone but I'm SO happy for her and Robert and wish them luck with the sleep deprivation to come. (but with her luck he'll sleep through the night by one week old too!) Love you little Tre! (Steve nick named alex tre because his name is Robert Alexander Marshall III, tres=Tre. Get it? I think it's cute)

Bangs!

Why would I cut bangs at random you may ask? To remind myself I'm not a frumpy, unstylish Mommy of two children. What you think?

We're in trouble.

Hallie can climb out of her crib. Like in two seconds flat. She swings her leg up over the railing, pulls herself over, dangles by her arms, then drops to the ground. Then, she runs out of her room. So my question is....now what? What are we supposed to do? What do you do when your two year old can get out of her crib AND doesn't like going to bed ever? For the past three days she has literally gotten almost no sleep. I am totally at a loss and have no idea what to do. Obviously if the two year old doesn't get enough sleep, everyone is miserable. But how do I get her to sleep now that she isn't trapped in her bed. I'm already up every few hours with Chase, add a visits from Hallie in there and it equals NO SLEEP FOR ME. This is a blog of desperation....I need help. Any suggestions? I'll take em.

A few pics I love from tuesday.

Dear Julie,

I just found this picture of us from last year right before I got pregnant with Chase. It made me so happy I just wanted to write you a blog/letter and tell that I love you so much! You have always been such a good friend and I know you will always be there when I need you. I have never been nearly as good of a friend to you as you have been to me, and I'm really sorry. I love how every time we get together you have a new strange hobby that you've started and you are usually really good at. I love how when we were roomates we always fought but then we would act like nothing happened the next day. I love how you never would know how much money you had in your bank account because you refused to look. And I have always been so jealous of you and how you can wear any clothes you want to because you have such a stinkin cute figure! You are one of the most selfless people I know and you are really one of my very best friends. I love you jules! Love, Sara

Home

I've had a few people ask me to post pics of our house so I took a couple of the living room/dining room. Things are still going really good here. It's been so hot though and Hallie is getting a little stir crazy being in the house so much. I feel kind of bad about it, but I don't want to have Chase out in the extreme heat. To finally just get out of the house tonight we drove a half hour to McDonalds to get dinner and ice cream. When we were in the drive thru I told Hallie that I had ordered her an ice cream and she said "NO Mommy! I no want Ice cream! I want a diet coke!" I almost died. I don't give her diet coke usually. Only once or twice and no one had ordered one in the drive thru so it isn't like she thought she was missing out on something. She just really wanted a diet coke. :) Ahhh, I love her. Well, it's bed time, here a few pics.

Happy Birthday to you

Happy birthday HALLIE! My baby is two years old today. *tear* I love her so much and I can't believe she's getting so big. We decided to get more serious about potty training the other day and tried to get her to poop in the potty. She FREAKED out and pooped on the floor right next to her potty. Convenient. Anyways, we've had a peaceful birthday day for Hallie and just been opening random presents all throughout the day. Matt's sister Katie is here to visit for the week so we decided to drive a few hours to Georgia and surprise Matt's brother Zach who is there on his mission. I know...kinda not allowed, but we did it anyways. :) It was fun and he was very shocked to see us. We spent a few hours with him and then he went on to his apts and we turned around and drove back home. Things here are still going good. It's REALLY hot and we stay inside most of our time for now. Matt takes Hallie down to the beach in the evenings when it's cooled off a little and Hallie loves doing that. Mary is here until the 27th and I REALLY don't want her to go. SHe's been such a big help and I don't know if I can be a Mom of two all by myself. I guess I have Matt, but when he's at work I'm all alone. :( Here are a whole bunch of pics and I'll put more up tomorrow from Hallie's birthday party we are about to have.

And I'm back in the game.

After a week of living as nomads, we finally got cable and internet hooked up last night. Hooray. We haven't even had a phone in the new house because our cell phones don't get service and they couldn't connect a land line until the 8th. So we've been watching a lot movies. The new house? Love it! It was built a few years ago, four bedroom/two bath. HUGE bathtub in the master bath (I've taken a bath every day since we've been here) Hallie has her OWN room, Chase has his own room, and Mary (my live in Nanny for a month) has her own room. Definently a step up from Hallie sleeping in my walk in closet. We are a little over a half mile from the beach and Matt and Hallie have gone on a bike ride everyday down to the beach. She loves her own room and seems to adjusting amazing well to all the changes that have taken place this month. If anyone needs a get away vacation and wants to come to Mexico Beach, FL...we have a room for you. :) The only draw back to where we live, is we are REALLY far away from everything. Chase has had a really nasty cold that he caught from me so I took him to the base to see a doctor yesterday, they didn't have any apointments but sent a man nurse out the waiting room to take a look at him. He handed me saline nose drops and pretty much told me to go home. I was a little concerned that he wasn't taking Chases temperature or listening to his lungs or anything so I asked him if he could take his temp. Do you want to know what he said to me? "Did you bring your thermometer?" I almost busted into tears and I said" No I thought you would have those types of things here". So I called back and wanted to know if I could give him a nasal decongestant and the doctor told me I needed to take him to the emergency room. (Which is an hour away). Right around this time I started feeling really funny, achy, cold, the hot and wouldn't you know...because Chase hasn't been eating good I got really engorged and came down with a NASTY case of mastitis. So the emergency room trip turned into a trip for the both of us. We didn't get out of there until one in the morning last night and so the antibiotic I had been gived couldn't be filled because everything was closed. So I ran a 103 fever all night last night and was shaking so bad the every muscle in my body hurts today. I am SOOO glad mary is here to help me. Ok, really long story. Sorry. We love our new house and all is well with the Horrocks family....almost.
