Little Rock 10k and Half Marathon

We say that we were going to Little Rock for the 10k and the half marathon races, but in reality, that is not entirely true. We used the race as an excuse to go to see Gini, Billy, Ty and Jack. Sadly, a few kids got sick right before leaving for the trip, so we had to quickly book an airb&b to stay in so we wouldn't get Ty and Jack sick. We were sad to not get to stay with Gini and Billy, but thankfully, still got lots of good time with them once our kids were feeling a bit better!

Burton and I ran the 10k with Cori. We all 3 stayed together for the first 3/3.5 miles and then Cori pulled away from us and finished with a personal best time! This was Burton's first 10k and he did amazing. Our average pace was about 12:30 minute miles. I was so proud of his effort in training and his determination on race day.

Matt, Billy, Gini, David Teubl, and Dave and Leanna Vine all ran the half marathon (13.1 miles for those that don't know). Matt has done 2 half marathons in the past, as well as a 50k (that's just over 30 miles!) this last fall. For this half, he finished in 2.5 hours. He did struggle with some IT band pain in this race towards the end. We were so proud of his strength and stamina for this race! It as such a fun group of people to cheer for and watch run this half marathon.

Waiting to cheer for our runners.

And give a few high fives.

And get a few snuggles with Aunt Sarah.

These boys have such a sweet affection for one another.

Ready to run the 10k.

Mile 5

Finished the 10k and still standing!

Cheer section.

Half Marathon complete.

Celebrating David's birthday. He ran a half marathon to celebrate his 34th birthday and then we all ate steaks and cake with him that evening.

Helping feed baby Jack Jack.

And then Adalynn needed to feed baby Ellinore.

A long snuggle hug goodbye between Aunt Gini and Gibson.
