Easter Weekend- Tustin's Easter Egg Hunt

The Saturday before Easter. Seth, Anna, and I got up bright and early and went to the Tustin Easter Egg hunt. This a picture summary of our day.

Anna dressed pretty for the day, complete with a spring flower.

Anna and Daddy waiting for the egg hunt to begin. I love the clouds in this picture.

All the eggs just wanting to be gathered.

Anna could hardly wait. That little yellow tape could barely withhold an eager one year old.

Anna and Daddy filling her bucket.

Before the hunt started, they explained that there will be two golden eggs for each age group. As Anna and Seth were gathering eggs, one of the volunteers came by and dropped a golden egg into Anna's pile of eggs that she was picking up.

Anna loved that egg. She held it all the way to the booth where she had to exchange it for her gift.

Right before we were about to leave the hunting area, this cute little boy came by and gave Anna an egg. I had missed it the fist time he handed her an egg so I asked him to do it again with the same egg. Instead he pulled another egg from his bag and put it in her bucket. So cute!

Why Daddy was in line getting pancake breakfasts of us, Anna was showing me the eggs that she got.

Anna holding the gift that she got from the golden egg. It was a gift card to Jamba Juice. YUMMMAnna and Mommy Right before leaving.

While we were walking to the car, Anna got tired of walking so daddy put her on his shoulders. She is what she did to thank him.

We had a gift card so why not go get a smoothie. Daddy put Anna on the top of the car and she loved being up there. Silly girl!

That was just the the beginning of our fun filled weekend.

All We Want for Christmas is.....

ANNA TO BE A.......

and it will come TRUE! That is right. I am pregnant!!! My unofficial due date is December 14th. I have not been to the doctor yet but will go in the next couple weeks. I am so excited for this little blessing to come into our family! We cannot think of a better Christmas gift!

I am feeling Great! As long as I make sure to eat and drink water often, I don't get sick. I love being pregnant! I feel so close to heavenly father and blessed to be responsible for two of this precious children (Anna and the baby)!

Anna will be a great Big Sister. She is getting a lot of practice. I nanny a 4 month old and Anna is so loving a curious about him. She always wants to hold him and touch his little toes. This afternoon I found her laying next to him while he was taking his nap. I love Anna so much and I am so thankful for her cute and loving personality. She is talking more and more and now has many words in her vocabulary. Her favorite words are BABY and Please.

Oh how we love our ONE YEAR OLD!

As you know, Anna is now the BIG ONE! I really can't believe it. It is so true that once you have a child time goes faster. Today Anna turned 13 months old. To celebrate we took her to the doctor and she got SHOTS. Isn't that how you would have wanted to celebrate? Me neither.

However, Anna is a CHAMP! She need to get 4 shots and one toe prick. I was worried because this was going to be the first time that she got the shots in her arm and I thought that it would hurt worse than in her leg. I guess I was wrong. The nurse was every fast and kind. Anna did not cry for the toe prick or the first three shots. She just looked at the nurse and was very curious. The last shot was the MMR. Apparently this shot STINGS when it goes in. Our champ broke down but returned to her normal self in no time.

Here is her 1 year stats:

Weight: 18 lbs 5 oz- 10% (that is what the doctor said but I have looked it up on line and it says that she is in the 15th percentile.)
Height: 30 inches- 75%
Head: 45.5 cm

Here are some pictures of Anna and her Daddy a few days after turning ONE.

I want to document some cute stories and character traits.
  • Anna is a social butterfly. She loves to make herself known. She will stare and smile at someone until they look at her and give her the attention that she wants. She also wins over people's hearts just by smiling and giving them her little scrunched face. A couple of days ago we were in the checkout line at the grocery store and the lady in front of us bought a cute, fluffy, Easter Duck. As I was checking out, she started to show it Anna and was making her laugh. She commented on how cute she was and then left. Before I finished checking out, the lady walked back in the store and handed Anna the duck. She said, "That little girl is just too cute and she deserves this duck. We will go buy another one for us." What a sweet lady.
  • Anna's vocabulary is exploding. She says many words and it seems like she picks up a new one each day. She loves to mimic what we say and after a couple times she gets the hang of it and will start to say that word by herself. My favorite is when she calls for her Daddy. It started when we would be in the shower and needed daddy to come in and get her. I called "Daaaaaddy" and then she started to copy me. Now she says it from the time Seth leaves for work in the morning until he walks in the door in the evening. It is so cute but a little heartbreaking at the same time.
  • She has been saying Baby since she was 9 months old. When ever she sees a baby, a picture of a baby or a baby doll, she starts to say "Baaby" over and over again. I love it.
  • I tried to teach Anna how to sign when she was 6 months old but she didn't seem to catch on. That is not the case any more. Now she can sign milk, more, and eat. The sign that she does most often is eat. She does this ALL day long! The hungrier she get the more dramatic and exaggerated her signing gets.
  • She is not walking by herself yet but I think she is close (She has taken 5 steps in a row by herself). She has a push car that she pushes all around our home. When she runs into a "dead end" she walks around to the front and pushes it from the front until she hits another dead end and then she repeats the process.
  • Anna is such a love bug. She gives the best hugs and kisses. A couple of days ago daddy was wanting to sleep in but Anna had different plans. She crawled up to daddy's face and started to give him soft kisses on his lips until he opened his eyes. She also give her friends kisses and hugs. My favorite time of each day is when I lay her down for naps and for bed. This is because of the sweet snugly hug that she gives me. It the best reward for being a mom.

Anna is changing everyday and we are trying to enjoy each of her mile stones! Here are some more pictures of our pride and joy.

Happy Birthday ANNA!! Part One: The Cake

Anna turned ONE on February, 17. On Saturday, February 19th, we held Anna's first birthday party. We had the party in the club house at our apartment complex. We were so blessed to have many friends and family there to enjoy this big mile stone with us.

The day was full of traditional first birthday fun! The biggest one was when we allowed Anna to dig into her OWN little cake. Anna did not disappoint... She was a little hesitant at first but as soon as she got a little taste of the sugary goodness, she went to town.

This is what Anna's face looked like while we all sang "Happy Birthday" to her. She loved being the center of attention and even clapped for us when we finished.

We had practiced blowing out the candle of many days before her party. She got really good at it. I would tell her that it was 'hot' and then she would blow. However, the excitement of a big audience distracted her, so I gave her a little assistance.

The picture above is Anna digging into her cake (AKA: Frosting with a tinny bit of cake). When I tried to take the cake from Anna, to prevent a massive sugar rush, she yelled at me and demanded that I give it back! Silly girl is like her daddy and LOVES those sweets.

Her mommy and daddy love her very much!!

Proof that there was a little bit of cake under all that frosting and that Anna really enjoyed herself.

The frosting face!!
