Boys of Fall...

This is a long post so BEWARE...Friday night was Homecoming for the Covington Chargers.  We played Crockett County and WON! Go Chargers!  Hank took the boys and their friends while I had a night at home to myself. Thanks Hank.  I had a lot of catch up stuff to do because it had been such a busy week.  I almost called into work last week and seriously asked for a "Mental Health Day, " but being the  responsible adult I sometimes am, I didn't.  It seemed that every morning was chaos and I left my house upside down with laundry every day and I was feeling a little anxious and overwhelmed.  Maybe it was because of this new project of preparing dinner at church and I was so scared it wouldn't be enough and IT WAS.  By the way, the meal went great and I'm doing it again this week.  I'm no longer on any more committees (clap, clap) at church and I owe this much to my church.  (and the kids too! :)

As you can see in the pics that Saturday Morning brought us the boys of Fall.  Yes, Charger Football for the boys.  The practice has once again began with Hank coaching.  But this year, Cade Carter and Cam are on the same team.  sigh...what a relief!

Cade Carter and Cam are playing Flag Football.  No tackle for them this year.

When Saturday Night rolled around we went "Night Riding."  We rode four wheelers, roasted hot dogs and got very muddy.

Cam was making sure his didn't get to black because he refuses to eat anything burned or browned.

The gang...John Bradley, Cam, Jacob, Peyton and Cade Carter

Did I mention we ran across a DEAD snake...and yes, it was DEAD!

These Boys of Fall should be called Rednecks of Fall...

This is a stream of muddy water we came upon...Cam didn't ride thru it...he got in it!

Riding on a dirt road...

There was no place I'd rather be!

Cool Rock...Questioning himself should he ride thru a muddy ditch...

Did I mention Brian fell off the four wheeler and fell in the muddy creek?

Seriously, JoLea, flipflops???

After church Sunday, we headed to Landen's 5th birthday at the park.

Carly came along with us.   Cam and her hung out all day.

Sorry for such a long post but this weekend was crammed full of fun...I needed that!  I hope this week is better and I pray that I  learn to deal with being busy in a positive way!

Homecoming 2012

This week has been Covington High School's Homecoming Week.  The town has been all decked out in Purple and Gold!  Cade Carter painted a banner to display on the court square and he also got to ride in the truck that held all the cheerleaders.  He was so excited.  He really thought he was something cruising through the parade with these pretty girls in the back.  :)

Cade Carter painted this at my work this week.

Sandra Howard insisted on me painting the windows of the bank...LOL  what can I say...it was fun!!! Sandra bleeds purple and gold...

This is a fuzzy pic of Cade Carter but if you could see that HUGE SMILE on his face you would laugh!  Pimping ain't easy.   LOL!

Go Chargers!!!  They play Crockett County Tonight-Hope they win!

Meal Planning-Fun Friday turned Fun Tuesday

A few of us from my church plan to start tackling Wednesday night meals for our youth and little kids.  It's somewhat ironic that on my friend Kate's blog this week her Fun Friday Link Party was on Meal Planning.  Well, I have been pondering what to feed the little ones every week and how to have it prepared by 5:30 when I do not get off work until 4:30.  How am I going to  get food prepared for 40 kids in less than an hour? I know for sure that my crock pot will be involved.   This new adventure is going to be trial and error for awhile and hopefully I can figure out how to do this.

I recently started couponing, and I've learned to shop our local drug stores for personal and paper products. When using your coupons, these drug stores are CHEAPER- If you play your cards right, you can AVOID Wal-mart completely.  I totally recommend doing this!  Wal-Mart is EVIL when it comes to getting me in there.  I usually run to the grocery store on Sunday mornings after church and get what I need for the week.  So I try to meal plan mid-week, therefore, my menus run from Wednesday -Tuesday of the following week.  I could go on and on to my crazy madness of meal planning but this post could get really long.  Kudos to Kate for bringing up a topic that I tend to struggle with from week to week, especially now that I'm feeding the church kiddos too.  LOL!

Labor Day Weekend...Is it Fall Yet?

This past weekend the boys went dove hunting at Greg Williams annual dove hunt.  Watching them tear the dove's head off and shred it of it's feathers made me a little nauseous so I opted not to watch them, but going to visit with Greg and his buddies was fun.  My boys love Greg- I think it's his man cave he's got that is very awesome.

Hank and Cam after a whole day of hunting.

"This is the life!"

Cade Carter using his 20 gauge...he gets better and better each year.

Cam has learned to drive the Ranger very well!

We celebrated Jasper's 8th birthday last night  and I made him a birthday cookie that I got the recipe off pinterest.  I wasn't to impressed on the texture but it was still good.

Now that Labor Day is over, can I get my Fall Decor out?  I know that white pants are a NO!  Also, isn't it now time for a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks?  They came out today!!!!!!Thanks to my dear friend, Audra-she brought me one this morning...yes-it's Fall time for me-what about you?  Thanks Audra!!!!

Fun Fridays

I've always wanted to participate in a link party, so when my dear friend Kate decided to head one up I got so excited.  Each week, Kate http://www.erikandkatekrull.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2012-08-13T14:48:00-05:00&max-results=7&start=7&by-date=falsecreates a theme for each Friday.  Us, blog buddies will post an insert from our blog if the theme applies to us-and we are added on her list-that way we get to see every one's ideas!   Some weeks there will be themes that might not apply to me but that's ok-more knowledge for me.   Now let me remind you that Kate has gone through so much over the past year  dealing with her little girl, Lucy, who had cancer and is now in remission.  THANK GOD FOR THAT!  Lucy's story has reached out to so many and what friends she's made just through her blogging.  I adore Kate and her courage for expressing her feelings on her blog.

Today's blog theme is ORGANIZATION!
Check out Kate's blog:  http://erikandkatekrull.blogspot.com/

As for organization, I must have it in my life to function.   If I don't have it, I'm a wreck.  My husband is even more OCD than me but that doesn't mean that I have an immaculate clean house, all clothes washed every day, or my beds get made daily  I just have a place for everything.  If the item's not in it's place I get edgy.  So many of my friends complain of their hubbies not helping around the house, well I can't say that for mine.  He's a neat freak, therefore, he helps me stay on my kids to keep things neat.  This past Summer I got tired of our bathroom closet looking like a disaster so I got some bins and organized our products.

Picked these up at Wal-Mart.

The Internet has so many cool sites to print labels.  Don't forget to Label!

The Things Us Moms DO!

I attended Crestview Middles School's PTO meeting last week and once again, I'm in charge of "BOX TOPS!"   It's amazing how many just my household collects.  If you aren't already and you do NOT have a child to collect for-send the box tops to me.  The school would appreciate it since it's easy money.  So you family members out there who are reading this HELP US OUT PLEASE!

Friday Night Football

Ella James, Cam & Carly

These three had an awesome time going to a Charger Football game.  Covington played Munford which is always a HUGE event in C-Town...Lots of rivalry there.  Needless, to say WE WON!!! Go Chargers!  We all went out for Mexican and then the game.  When Cam is with these two girls,  he treats them just like the guys.  I guess it's because they've been together since they were 4 years old in preschool.  Ella James always tells her Mama she "likes" Cam and we always laugh about it. But right now, they are just having fun!!
