Brain Drain

 I figured I would get on here and update everyone about what my most recent battle has looked like. Stage IV cancer decided to be a jerk again. A couple of weeks ago I was packing up after school to head home and I got a very sharp jabbing pain in my head. It lasted about 30 seconds and then afterwards my face felt tingly. Being a stroke survivor I did the stroke assessments (know these if you don't!). It didn't appear to be a stroke so I went home and told Scott. The next day I scheduled a MRI for my brain (Scott insisted and I agreed). My last brain MRI was in 12/2020 when my cancer had returned to my arm. My insurance doesn't allow for routine MRIs. I have to have a reason to get one (you'd think Stage IV MBC is a reason). My oncologist has always encouraged me to report any headaches so that she can order a MRI stat. My type of breast cancer (HER2+) is very aggressive and 50% of HER2+ patients will get brain mets. We knew it was a possibility. We hoped I would be...
