    Notice!

Hello J1s, hope you all enjoyed today!

Here's a few things to take note:
    1. Tomorrow's wet games, please do bring a dark T-shirt (school based) and an extra change of clothes. You might want to bring along another pair of shoes to change into after the wet games.

    2. Please bring back all indemnity form tomorrow, signed. You wouldn't want to be left behind while your OG goes to have fun, do you?

    3. Please bring your purple booklet (the one found in your orientation package) tomorrow for subject combination talk.

    4. Top up your ez-link cards!

    5. Rest early!

We sincerely apologise for not being able to post up the mass dance videos on time. Most of the councillors got home past 10, and we seek your kind understanding. We're really sorry!

    Cheers,
    Alynn

    FAQs

HEY guys, here are some answers to the frequently asked questions on the tagboard. =)

    1. Day 1 of Orientation ends about 6pm.

    2. If you haven't received a call from your OGL, not to worry, they will call you by today. If not, it's probably because they have the wrong number given by the database. So do come to school earlier to check which OG you are in, and proceed to the Cultural Centre for assembly. The OG lists are on the boards outside the General Office.

    3. If you do not know where the Cultural Centre is, look out for signs pasted all around the school, or any councillors in red jersey if you are really lost. Anyway, the Cultural Centre is next to the General Office.

    4. Do try to report in your secondary uniform, and bring along your PE attire. Any school based t-shirts would be fine too.

    5. You don't have to wear white school shoes for JC, you're allowed to wear track shoes/sneakers. As for socks colour, it doesnt really matter too.

    6. If you want to buy the SA uniform, you can do so during your free time throughout the week (there's no need to rush to buy). It's for sale at the school popular bookshop. The top costs about $13, the bottom is about $15, the tie is $10. As for PE attire, i think the shirt and shorts are $8 each. You can check out the price tmr. =)

    7. Even if you are appealing out of SA, you still have to report to SA tmr to confirm a place in SAJC first.

    8. Orientation lasts for 5 days!!! =D=D=D

    9. Day 1 of Orientation is not wet games, so there's no need to bring extra shoes, and don't have to worry about it! =)

    10. The ending time of these 5 days vary, some earlier, some later. Friday would end later though.

    11. Remember to bring along $32 for the Orientation Package tmr! If your ogl has called you and told you to bring extra money, that's for other purposes. =)

    I hope this helps! =D

    More FAQs:
    1. If you have thrown away/misplaced your PE attire, do bring any school based T-shirt and sports shorts of appropriate length.

    2. Appealing: JCs in Singapore (those that are still open for appeals) have agreed to allows students to appeal only in the afternoon, approximately 3pm, so you will still have to report in the morning, to confirm a place in SAJC :D Please inform your OGL early in the morning thanks! And you can only leave around 2pm+. Thanks for your cooperation!

    3. Most students take 3 H2s and 1 H1. Those who score below 9 points (raw) are qualified to take 4H2s. Still, there must be at least one contrasting subject.
    For example,
[H2] Physics, Chem, Maths [H1] History (Contrasting)
[H2] Maths (Contrasting), Literature, Economics [H1] Chemistry (Contrasting)

    The Chronicles of SAJC

Grapefruit, being the most mischievous of the lot, decides to strike first. He laid eyes on the Tennis team, because of close rivalry between him and his next of kin, the tennis ball. With his succulent nature, he definitely made this tennis training a juicy one.

    PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

    Hi,

First of all, I’d like to warmly welcome you to SAJC!

I can imagine how you’re feeling right now- a bit of anticipation towards the fresh prospects of a new school, perhaps a dash of heartache for what you’ve left behind in your secondary school years, and probably some nervousness in this whole new environment.

SAJC, a home to so many of us, must indeed be somewhat of an alien place to you. I too felt this way when I first stepped into SAJC. I remember the unsettling feeling of being surrounded by a sea of strangers in varying uniforms, and an increasing dread at having to start anew. However, amidst a wave of distress and this sudden urge to run back to my secondary school and carry on with the life I had grown so accustomed to, the words I first saw upon stepping into SAJC came to mind- No one is here by chance.

To some, this line may be an over-used and perhaps a clichéd line. However, to me, the meaning of this line still stands as strongly as when I first thought of it back then. Indeed, every single one of us are called here for a reason. As Jeremiah 29:11 says, “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”. What is ahead of us may be unknown, but be assured that God has great things in mind of all of us. I am absolutely certain that your presence here in SAJC is no mistake, and I believe that each of us will take away something special and unique from our years spent here.

The leap from secondary school to junior college is quite a large and perhaps difficult one, especially having to leave behind years of wonderful memories nurtured in secondary school. In SAJC, I never thought I would find a set of friends, teachers or school culture I was so blessed with in secondary school. Truly, I never did- but that does not mean I did not find something equally special, and more. In this one year, I’ve made friends who effortlessly fill my days with laughter, found teachers who are more than willing to go beyond their call of duty to guide us, and settled into a school culture that brings Saints together as a family. SAJC, a school which was once a foreign place to so many of us, has now become a home. I’m really grateful for all that God has given to me here, and I’m excited for the great things in store for you.
    Align Left
The road ahead is an uncertain one that may be smooth or filled with bumps. However, here in SAJC, I’m sure that through anything, you will find a family ready at your side. From one Saint to another, may you have an enjoyable orientation, and fruitful years ahead!

    God bless!

    With best regards,
    Renee Tan

    The Chronicles of SAJC

Our soccer guys team created a mini fruit garden in SAJC to do their bit for the environment. However, something diabolical is stirring underneath this tranquil facade. Our CCAs have been found to be constantly being spied on, and even being attacked! So here we have our student councillors (being such strange persona of fruits), planning their moves against the various CCA groups. What will happen to the fate of SAJC? Stay tune to The Chronicles of SAJC.

    To be continued...
