Old but new

Hello there bloggers, I do hope this post finds you all well and fabulous. Well I know its been sometime since I posted let alone been creative. But since Christmas I have been squirrling a little time away each day to be a little bit crafty. And of course being a new year, its time for a new look for my popular Alice in wonderland books
Unfortuately i have been forced to make them slighly larger with a different cover design as I just cant get the small alice design paper anymore. Only the larger, and sparingly at that. So I decided to try out a new decoration for the cover as well as the old design.  I have listed them on etsy and will be making more in the coming weeks.
As for my absence here and etsy, after 20 years of being a military wife moving from one house to another, we decided to buy and I have had my head down the rabbit hole so to speak. Gardening that is, and I am loving it. Growing our own veg and designing new parts of the garden has only been a dream for 20yrs, and now its a reality and I am throughly enjoying the process. Oh and through in a 19mnth very active gorgeous little girl, a pre teen and a hubby, one has had her hands happily fullfilled.
But now we are settled, my itchy hands that have been soil stained for some months, now wish to go back to their old gluey, inked up hands for awhile yet. So more books to come, so stay tuned. Take care all

Moth in a box

A few weeks back, a poor little moth passed over on my back door step, and  I marveled at its beauty and wanted to preserve this little creature to admire. So I got making a little box for he/she from polymer clay.
I wanted to have a box that was not only open at the top, but the bottom too, so you can view him/her from underneath, so i cut a little window on the bottom. Once I did that, I placed some text transparency inside and poured Ice Resin until the box was full of this wonderfully crystal clear magic. The resin made its wings see through, with just the slightest of colour but with so much detail.

Here you can see the bottom with his/her little window. Love holding it up to the light, a little view finder magic.

One day I am going to make myself a book..

One of these days I am going to make myself a little book just for me as I am finding it so hard parting with them on etsy. Though I know they are all going to lovely homes so that makes it a wee bit easier.
It is now listed on etsy

Neally finished a couple of Halloween books and seriously they will be hard to part with as I love anything spooky and Halloween. And that will be enough book making for some time as I need to start packing up this house ready to move into our very own home (yeahh finally we will be home owners) I know not terribly exciting for some, but after 20 years travelling around the country with the army we are so ready to plant some roots, paint some rooms, and make a house a home. Finally our home. So for now off to pinterest for home inspiration..

I'm backkkk....

Hi there Bloggers, its me Sarah!  Sarah who you ask? Me, its me I am back, finally after more than a year away playing mum again, I am once again at the table creating. And it feels good. I am loving getting inky, gluey dirty fingers all over again. Even this little one who seems to have grown up way too fast, is loving watching her mum do what she loves. God forbib if anything is within her reach though. I never seem to get it back in the same state. LOL

Anyway I have had a little play around in the last few months with creating some canvases for my daughters,  girlie fun stuff. And now I am back into the book making. I am like a mad woman who cant get enough. Thats what happens when you have a 1 year break. In fact I am making books to sell on etsy. Well I hope I am. Thats if I can part with them.  On the subject of etsy, I would like to say a big thank you to all the lovely ladies out there who have messaged me asking when I will be back in buisness. The answer to that is (Fingers Crossed) some time mid June I am hoping. Maybe earlier all going well.. Hmmfff who am I kidding, I have a 11 month old daughter. No I am more than hopeful it will be June sometime.LOL
Anyway bloggers I must get some beauty sleep, its rather rare in this house, even after 11 months, but its getting much better, and if I want to get these hands dirty tomorrow, sleep is on the menu right now. If all plays out well in the coming days I shall upload some pics of some of the books I have just finished..
Missed you all, and its great to be back..

I shall be back, when I do not know, with what I couldnt tell u, gosh one could even get back to my scrapbooking roots, eeekk now thats my baby brain speaking surely, as its been years, but its a thought either way.

Take care all

Another Steampunk Book

I know what your all saying, "Sarah another steampunk book!!" LOL , I know I know, its a fad I am going through..heheh

I just adore Tim Holtz's new book plate stamp and when I saw what my dear friend Jen did, well I just had to play too.

Please check out Jen's blog for her book, and 2 other lovely creative women who have played with Tim's stamps and metal etched their own books. Fab work girls, no wonder we are always inspired to create..
