Here is Brevin running although you can't tell he is even running in this picture! It comes too easy for him.
For Christmas this year from my parents they give me the gift to choose what I wanted for Christmas. (Money) After much contemplation and trying decide between a want, need, and would really like I decided to put all Christmas funds towards a treadmill. I wanted a treadmill because it would be nice to be able to run if the boys were with me and Aaron was working. Also I was starting to get a little on the pudgy side and it was really starting to bother me! (TMI) We needed a new computer as the boys had demolished the laptop, which was 8 years old and our desktop was in similar condition although it still functioned, the desktop was 9 years old. And I would really like a Kindle, but when you get the majority of your mom's books after she is through with them then there is really no need for one. So . . . we decided to use tax money for the need and go with the want!
Let me just say I made the right decision! I love it! I get such a good work out and over all I feel better. Brevin is a great coach while I am running and will often say "keep going mom," "you can do it mom," "faster mom faster," "slower mom slower," or "you are almost there mom." It is great and always brings a smile to my face! The other week they boys were downstairs while I was running and Brevin wanted a turn. So Aaron put him on. Man that kid is fast! He ran 3/4 of a mile! He was angry when we turned it off and told him it was time for bed too. He also has some speed. I was a little worried when Aaron kept turning up the speed because I know what it is like to run at 6 miles an hour but Brevin can do it! He can do it for a long time too. I had Aaron turn it down after awhile because I was worried he was going to fall. He did great though. Anyway, I love my treadmill and I am so glad I have it even though it is a Beast and we really don't have room for one. Now it is time to sell the elliptical. :)

Valentine's Day
This year we had a great Valentines day. Grandma and Grandpa Winterholler sent the boys a Valentine. They were so excited even though they weren't quite sure what it was for. I let them open it a day early as the weather was frigid and we hadn't been out in a couple of days.
Also this year, two dozen roses showed up on my porch. They were awesome. My dad had sent them to me. It is always nice to have fresh flowers hanging around but I can never bring myself to spend the money on them. :) I didn't get a picture of them but I should have!

Jace's Snowman
Jace has been quite creative while the snow has been flying and we have been stuck inside. One of his favorite things to do is take the majority of the cans out of the pantry that he can reach and stack them as high as he can to make a "snowman." I think anything that you stack to put together is a snowman to Jace. As I mentioned in a previous post they love snowmen. I am sure for the majority of those who look at my blog this will be boring, but I sure enjoyed watching his expressions and the concentration he had while trying to build this snowman!
Handsome boys!

Mom and Jace relaxing before bed.
This is how I will always remember Brevin! I love this picture because to me it captures him to a T!!!
My handsome Jace!
My handsome Brevin!
Now where is the picture of the handsome husband? It isn't easy to get pictures of him because he isn't around too often and when he is he isn't a huge fan of the camera, but I think I have at least one that will be posted later. :)
My boys when they get older and start looking back at their pictures may wonder if I ever dressed them or if we were too poor to have clothes. I really do dress my boys every day and we have plenty of clothes for each season, but my boys walk in the door and take off their shirt and pants almost immediately. Brevin has always had an aversion to clothing but Jace has just followed the trend. This is one of those battles I don't care to fight. If they don't want a shirt and pants on in the house, so be it, just keep the undies on. :)

Snowmen!
Man this winter we have gotten a TON of snow!! Unfortunately there hasn't been much of an opportunity to play in it as it has been WAY too cold! When we had the two big snow storms that I blogged about previously Brevin would ask to make a snowman almost every day. But as I mentioned it was too cold to go out. So one day while Jace was napping I brought the snow inside and we made miniature snow men. Brevin loved this and got his snowman fix. We ended out with a snowman family, one snowman to represent each one of us. He had fun eating the snowman eyes as they were minature chocolate chips. We also sprinkled them to give them a little color.
There was finally a break in the temperatures and we were able to build a snowman outside. The snow wasn't ideal as it was too powdwery, but I managed to make it work and the boys LOVED it!!
Kisses for the miss.

Reading skills
Lately, Brevin has been quite the reader! Now when we go to Target we LOOK at the Thomas trains, but LEAVE with a book. It is great!! Books are a lot cheaper than Thomas trains! He has plenty of Thomas trains anyway. Initially Brevin was reading sight words, then he moved on to trying to sound out words. Now he is pretty much reading whatever you put in front of his face! I love it! Often times when Jace is napping he will come to me and say "read with me, mom." Sometimes he prefers to read the book and other times he wants me to read to him. When it is my turn to read they are longer story books. I am impressed with how he will sit there and listen to the story over and over for long periods of time. If Jace has joined us he will usually get bored around 15 minutes into it and head off to destroy something. Jace enjoys having Brevin read to him and just recently Brevin has given in to Jace's requests. It is SO cute to see Brevin reading to Jace. Every night I read a story to Brevin or with Brevin and I will only read it once because he would read it over and over until he falls asleep. So if he asks to read the story again I will usually say, "one more time and that's it." I have heard Brevin say this to Jace when he asks Brevin to read the story again. I thought it was pretty funny! Anyway, enjoy the clips. I know I have, but I am the mother!

HAPPY 4th Birthday Brevin!!
Christmas is such a busy time, and I hear a lot of people don't like having their birthday around Christmas time because they get "combined" birthday/Christmas presents. This is not the case with Brevin. He had at least a week long celebration for his birthday. We had plans to fly to Billings on his birthday. Those plans did not work out due to an unforeseen medical reasons. The week of his birthday there was no school so the celebrated the week before. I made cupcakes and took them to his class. Brevin came home with this crown. He was so proud of it and wore it all day and the following day!
We had him open Grandma and Grandpa's big birthday gift early due to the fact we were supposed to be traveling to Billings on his birthday. He opened it two days before so he could play with it before we left. Both of the boys LOVE this "ball game" as they call it.
On his actual birthday we went to Boingz to play. The boys had SO much fun! That place is great for wearing a kid out! After Boingz we went to Eileen's Cookies and let Brevin pick out two big birthday cookies. He picked chocolate chip and snickerdoodle.
The birthday boy lending Jace a helping hand. What a great big brother!!
Opening mom and dad's birthday gift!
Grandma and Grandpa Sadler sent a birthday present, but I failed to get pictures of this opening as it was opened on another day. He loved his mini transformer in that package and the boys still fight over it. They call him "Iron man." :)
Brevin is such a sweet kid and I am so thankful that I am his mother! He is so easy going and has a great disposition. Those who are able to get to know him comment on these things and how much fun he is. The things that Brevin teaches me are so special and dear to my heart and they are things that I am not sure I would have ever learned any other way. Thank you Brevin for being my boy! We love you! Happy Birthday!
Brevin enjoys reading and will often times bring a book to me and say, "Mom, read with me." He is an excellent reader and is reading rather well for his age. He reads at a first grade level. He also enjoys playing the computer, his leapster, playing with hisThomas trains, his balls game, and of couse watching a good Disney movie.
