Believe in Jesus Christ and in the beauty of the gospel begun in Bethlehem..

Believe in the One whose spirit glorified a little town; and whose spirit still brings music to persons all over the world, in towns both large and small..

Believe in the One for whom the crowded inn could find no room..

Believe in the One who the rulers of the earth ignored and the proud could never understand; whose life was among common people, whose welcome came from persons of hungry hearts..

Believe in the One who proclaimed the love of God to be invincible:

Believe in the One whose cradle was a mother's arms, whose modest home in Nazareth had love for its only wealth, who looked at persons and made them see what God's love saw in them, who by love brought sinners back to purity, and lifted human weakness up to meet the strength of God.

Believe in the One who alone can satisfy our everlasting need of God: meet our need of forgiveness for our selfishness and greed, our need of new life for empty souls, our need for love for hearts grown cold.

Believe in God who gives us the best of Himself.

Believe in Jesus, the Son of the living God, born in Bethlehem this night, for us and for the world.

Dearest Heavenly Father, may this Christmas be radiant with the brilliance of Your one true Light. May that Light illuminate our hearts and shine in our hearts and our lives. May the hope, the peace, the joy, and the love represented by Jesus' glorious birth in Bethlehem fill our lives and become part of all that we say and do. May we share the divine life of Your precious Son Jesus Christ, even as He humbled Himself to love us sacrificially, share our humanity, pay the penalty for our sin and be the wondrous Saviour of this world.

With the capitalized U and R, we pay our focus to them first. The first 'U' stands for United and the first 'R' stands for Revival. We want a Spirit-empowered revival in our tribe. But we want it to be a United Revival where every single member is revived, not just snatches of 2-5 surfers in the tribe.

The second 'U' stands for Unwavering and the second 'R' stands for Relationship. We want to have Unwavering Relationships in our tribe, both with God and man. An unwavering relationship with God is to be achieved through the faithful reading of His Word and the power of prayer while unwavering relationships with man are achieved through unconditional love and blessed encouragement.

Let's look at the 'sf' now. The first 'sf' stands for Stay Focussed. We want to stay focussed on what we are supposed to do in our Christian life. To always live a life of absolute surrender and obedience to God, never to ever sway to the left or right and giving in to the immense peer pressure around us.

The next 'sf' stands for Stand Firm. We want to stand firm on the Word of God together.

When these four different letters come together, they spell SURF.

We are all like surfers. Waiting on the shore for that big, huge wave that we desire to surf upon. When the wind of the Holy Spirit moves, it causes waves in our lives due to God's wondrous moving and working Hand. We surfers will then catch the wave and surf on it for as long as we can. If we go down, we don't mind. We will paddle back to the shore and wait for the next wave. Some waves are short, some long depending on the will of God. But we will get each and every wave by His unfailing grace. Sometimes there aren't any waves in sight. Still we all will be at the shore, patiently waiting for the next wave and moving of the Holy Spirit. We will not give up.
