Finally! Ryan and Rob arrived yesterday after driving from Cairns. They left at 10am Friday and arrived here at 3.45pm today. They were both very tired and glad the drive was over.
So glad they got here in one piece, and glad that bub didn't arrive while he was still in Cairns.

3 weeks to go
Coming up close now! 3 weeks today we'll have a bub!
Ryan is leaving Cairns on Friday and driving down with his dad. They should get here Saturday arvo. I must admit, I have missed him. It's been a long 3 weeks since he flew back up there.
Spent today updating the blog. It has been a demon on my shoulder for the last few months and now I must ensure I keep updating it regularly. Must go lie down though. My back is starting to hurt sitting here.

Not happy - getting a cold
Woken up all snuffly and sore throaty. Not fair. Think I'm coming down with a cold. I should learn not to sleep with my window open in a cooler climate.
Good day for me to stay home and set up business accounts and get some organisation happening with the business.

OB Appointment - 26 days to go.
Another OB appointment today. Will be weekly from now on. All going good. Saw a foot kicking around. Time for more bloods. Weight is only at 61.9kg, so have only put on 12kg. Hopefully should only have 4-6kg to lose afterwards.
Still can't believe it's only 3.5 weeks away.

Setting up the temporary nursery
Thank goodness for a public holiday when all the shops are shut. Finally got some organisation happening in the spare room. I swear this bub has more clothes already than Ryan and I have combined. Granted they're smaller though. I have had to just put Size 0000, 000 and 00 in the drawers for now. I put my blue frill on the bassinet to break up the white and I think its come up ok.
Only time will tell if we have enough room in there or if we need more shelving or space.

5 busy days in Brisbane
Talk about a busy few days. We all went down to Brisbane on Sunday to have lunch at the Breakfast Creek Hotel with Darlene and family, Cameron and his friends/landlords, and the Carruthers/Day clan. Was a yummy lunch and then we dropped Ryan off at the airport for him to fly back to Cairns. I went back to Chris and Sarah's to stay til Thursday.
Monday Darlene and I took some time out to do some retail therapy at Chermside. It was sooo good to look at different shops, and we even squeezed in a pedicure! So well needed!
Tuesday was our big meeting with the franchise lawyers in Brisbane CBD. It was awesome being back in the corporate world, even for just a short time. It was a perfect morning too looking out at the Brisbane River. After the meeting I took Darlene to lunch at my friend Jason's restaurant Seven Stones in Enoggera.
Tuesday night I babysat my nephew so Chris and Sarah could go out for an evening on their own.
Wednesday I drove down to Logan to spend some time with Cameron and then that night, Darlene and I went to see Annie: The Musical at QPAC at Southbank. Thank you Darlene, you are too generous! It was a great show, and it was awesome being in the city. Been a long time since I'd been in a city at night.
Today, Sarah and I did some bub shopping then it was time to head back to the Sunny Coast. After doing nearly 350km in the rocket around Brisbane, I could only fit $29.50 petrol into the tank on arrival in Sippy Downs. I am very impressed. The rocket didn't miss a beat on city streets, on hills, or on freeways.

The boat has arrived and we have a date!
As we pulled up outside Sue and Rob's after inspecting our house, there was Ryan's boat being delivered. He was a very happy camper. The boat was in excellent condition.
After fadoodling around on it for a while, it was time for us to go and see the obstetrician here. Dana believes bub will only be in the 7ish pound tange. Lets hope she's right. Otherwise everything is looking good.
We are booked in to have a c-section on 6th June. It's all too real now.
Starting to get slowly unpacked and organised, will get there in the next few days.

Furniture has arrived
Busy coupla days here.
Caught up with Pia on Tuesday. Great to see her and know I have a friend down here. Also took Kimmy to the vet for her vaccinations, and again she had an allergic reaction, so Sue and Rob took her back to get her antihistamine shots.
Ryan arrived Tuesday night with Cameron. Ryan and I then went to an Anzac service in Buderim yesterday and then all of us spent a few hours at the Maroochydore RSL.
Furniture arrived this morning at the storage shed. We were soooo happy to see Paul and Roger in the truck. We knew then that they would pack our storage unit perfectly. All was done by 11.30am.
The only issue we had was that Ryan had taken the flue off the pizza oven and put it bubble-wrapped in the oven itself. While driving it to Sippy, the door flew open and we lost the flue. We rang Gasmate and were astounded to find out that a replacement flue was only $7 !!!! So we now have a brand newie on the top.
We had our pre-admission at the hospital this arvo too. All the paperwork is signed and sorted and we just need a date now - hopefully get that tomorrow.
After an awesome fish and chip dinner, Cameron headed off to Brisbane to pick his friend up from airport and head home.

Welcome to the Sunshine Coast !! Not!
My god! My first morning in the Sunshine Coast and Rob is catching snakes in the pool. Ugh!! After sending an email to Australia Zoo, we found out it was a Keelback snake.
I'm hoping I don't see too many of these critters down here.
Does anyone think Kimmy is having trouble settling in down here? I think not!

Goodbye Cairns
Woke up today with a heavy heart. Went to Poochies to pick up Kimmy and both Darlene and I ended up in tears. It broke my heart to say goodbye to her, even though I will be seeing her next week in Brisbane.
Darlene has certainly been my rock through the last 6-8 months with not working and being pregnant. Now she has made sure that I need to come back up to Cairns. I have now started up my own bookkeeping business so I can do her books and any future Poochies businesses. I am very lucky to know Darlene.
I didn't think it would hurt leaving Cairns. It hasn't been the easiest 5 and a half years but it is time to head down south to have bub and move into our house.
Onto the next part of the journey of life.

Goodbye Sundew Close
It's a very sad day today. Last day in Sundew Close. Removalists were here by 7am. And they were fantastic. They packed the truck like it was a jigsaw puzzle. They had been told we would fill a container and a trailer, but Roger and Paul did such a great job, they fit it all in one container. There was not one bit of air that was wasted in the container.
The guys finished and hit the road by 12.15pm so Ryan and I headed off to Stocklands where we ran into a couple people we know, so we got the chance to say goodbye. Then it was back to the Novotel for Ryan to have a swim and then dinner at Outback Jacks with Ali and Hemi, Dav's, Darlene and Adam and all the kids. It was a great night but a sad night. It still hadn't sunk in yet that it was my last meal in Cairns. I will miss everyone.

Packers are here
OMG !! The day is finally here. The packers arrived early at 7am to start packing up our house. It was all packed up by 3pm. Danny and Keith did such a great job. I was tired just watching them all. This is how our house looked when we shut the door to go to the Novotel for the night.

Last appointment with Natalie
It was a bit sad today. It was our last appointment with Natalie (OB) today. She has been so great to us. I know we are making the right decision having bub down south, but it still doesnt make it any easier.
She did shock us though and told us we are on target to have a 3.8kg baby - converts to a whopping 8.5 pounds !!! I really hope not !!!

Packers here Wednesday. Can't stop the ball rolling now.

Busiest easter ever !!!
We hit the ground running from Thursday afternoon. Ryan cleaned out the gutters with a guerney (hehe black mess everywhere) and started to sort out the shed.
Friday was spent in the garden where we hacked and pruned until our hands were nearly bleeding. Then after a quick trip to Dav's and Cara's with the dishwasher, we found out the tip was open, so we went and got rif of one load of green waste, and then had our well-deserved fish and chips we promised ourselves.
Saturday we dragged ourselves out of bed and did another tip load. Luckily rest of green waste fit in the trailer and the general waste fit in the car. Then after a food court lunch it was time to sort out the garage and pull down shelves and for Ryan to start packing up fishing stuff.
Sunday Ryan went fishing and then I painted the wall in the garage where his shelves and rod holders had been.
Monday was more packing and sorting and cleaning. If we keep going at this pace, we are going to burn out.

Bye bye car - see you down south
The rocket left this morning on its epic (!!) 18 day journey to the Sunshine Coast. Don't even get me started as to why it's taking this long. Nothing I can do about it now, but it's now on its way.
See you down there on the 23rd!

Cairns Baby Shower at 29 weeks and 6 days
Darlene hosted my baby shower in Cairns and she did an absolutely fantastic job. The games were great, the food was great. And it couldn't have gone well without all my friends there. After such a great day, it is finally sinking in that I'm leaving Cairns and I'm sad. I am going to miss everyone.
Thank you for all our wonderful gifts everyone.

Antenatal, birthday and dinner
Busy busy day. Ryan gave me my card and a Kindle for my birthday, and Sue gave me my favourite perfume. Then we had the second antenatal class. After a quick lunch of Hungry Jacks, Darlene came over and we got stuck into cooking and decorating for tomorrow's baby shower.
Then it was off for dinner at Hogs Breath where we ran into Sally. A good day and night. Roll on tomorrow.

Last day in Melbourne
After some retail therapy at Watergardens with Kim yesterday, it was time to go back to Mum and Dads today to get ready to go home tomorrow. As you can see, there is not a chance in hell of bringing Gizmo back to Qld if we wanted to or not. He is very muchly my dad's cat now. He's very happy and settled in Melbourne.

Awesome cot quilt mum made
Mum is getting a kick out of making baby stuff. She has created this cot quilt from a panel. This photo doesn't do it justice. Can't wait to use it in June.
