Once upon a time, my mom was planning herself a little solo vacay to Disneyland. Then Laura, Brenna, and I invited ourselves along. Because we're nice like that. Since Mom was planning on getting the hotel anyway, she paid for that, and we all got our own flights and tickets. It was seriously SO MUCH FUN. It was the first trip I've taken where I didn't really have to look out for anyone else. I could do what I wanted willy nilly. Go with the flow. Tickle my fancy. It was awesome. We really had a great time bonding and just doing
whatever. Something we haven't done much of lately.
We spent 4 days there. We flew in early in the morning and drove from LAX to Anaheim. That day ended up being an awfully long one. Since it started at 4:30 utah time and then we added an hour for Pacific coast time. We spent the first day in the Magic Kingdom, and then planned to be there first thing the next day for California Adventure. It was my first time to Carsland. Since I watch that show almost weekly, thanks to Malcolm, it seriously blew my mind! I walked in and there I was, standing in Radiator Springs! I freaked out a little, and managed to score a pass from one of the cast members standing by to skip the line of any ride that day! It pays to be loud sometimes. We spent the other two days getting rained on, but it didn't dampen our spririts.
We sort of accidentally had a good system for eating. We pretty much split every meal between the four of us and ususally got 3 entres. It saved us money, and we got to try a little of everything.
It was so fun to get all Disneybrained with these ladies. I can't tell you how much we laughed, had discussions about things important to us, played games, and of course, got all geeked out over Disney stuff. (We mentioned several times a day how we were sad MiQuelle didn't come because then she could have been part of our bonding. She decided it wasn't something she wanted to do, but we missed her.)
I kept a log of funny quotes! They're kind of circumstantial, so it probably doesn't translate, but here they are:
We were discussing how we needed to get to somewhere to use our Fastpasses. It was decided after much back and forth over pace that we were going to go a "Medium saunter." (Quote from me.)
We said Mom was going to be pissed off about something, and Laura said, "She'd be P to the W to the wooooah'd!"
In the hotel, Mom went to look for the ice machine. Laura's response: "Where's the ass machine? The ass machine is right here!" and proceded to shimmy said machine.
After dinner in a dimly lit area, Brenna looked at her food-shirt reflection in the mirror of the fully lit bathroom, "This is what happens when I eat mexican food in the dark."
We spent time in many a line playing "Heads up" on our phones . The guess word was "mole" in the Wild Animal category. Brenna's clue? "Ashley has one on her neck!"
We were waiting for the fireworks and sitting on the ground. Mom was noticing her shin splints and Brenna offered, "Do you want us to rub your feet?" When mom explained that wasn't the issue, Brenna then responded, "Good, because I don't do feet."
To take the Anna and Elsa Mickey hat picture you'll see later, Mom said I should put it further forward so you could see it better. I put it way up towards the front and Laura responded with "No. No. No." But it's the tone... Not really doable in writing. But Brenna, Laura, and Mom will remember. :)
And now, to the Way To Many Photos part. I noticed after a while I have mostly pictures with people. So sorry, there's not much to rest your eyes from all the faces faces faces. #sorrynotsorry #hashtagsareforbloggingtoo

Unintentional matching of purple and heart dots! Also, my front lense was dirty... you'll see more of that later... |

| When you hand your phone to the official photographers, they take like 15 photos in a row. Just, FYI. |
 |
| First ride of the trip? Indiana Jones! |
 |
| My vote for best meal? The Monte Cristo Sandwich, whatever frites, salad , and a mint julep from Cafe Orleans. I'll be doing that again, for sure! |

| There were several attempts at a jumping picture on Mainstreet. This is second best. |

| Here's the best. |
 |
| We spent some time finding goofy picture spots on Mainstreet. |
 |
| The wreaths and things were gone, but the snow was still around. Gradually, the panels with snow still on were less and less. Compare at the end. |
 |
| Through the railing. |
 |
| Waiting at the front of the opening rope. They have a good system now where they have all these big cast members hold a rope and make everyone walk behind them at a reasonable pace all the way to Carsland, where most people head to either get fastpasses or get in line for the cars Racers. Which is a ride that I can't WAIT to take Malcolm on! We're not going to Disneyland until he's 40" tall for that very reason. |
 |
| We headed to Toy Story first, to catch a short line. We're awesome in our 3D glasses. |
 |
| Carsland seriously rocked my world! SO cool! |
