Well it's official, our computer has gone ka-put. Its dead. Dead-dead. Won't even turn on. So until we get a new one, this blog is on hiatus. I can't even fix the mess that is the previous post!
So until further notice, bye!

Last Week's Pictures
This week's Last Week's Pictures is coming to you from my iPhone! Yup, our computer is so annoying, I'd rather blog on my phone. Luckily Brenna told me about the blogger app, so I uploaded it to try it out. Since all of last weeks pictures come from my phone anyway, it ought to work just fine!
Hm... They all seem to be in random order and I can't put captions on them... Guess I'll have to get on the computer anyway.

(ya know, it's hard adding captions a week later! I believe this was the morning that Ryan and malcolm went to the Air Show in Wendover.

While canning tomatoes and salsa, Laura watched the babies. She's pretty strong.

We recently planted some trees and have had to water them regularly. Malcolm has discovered he likes to play in the hose. He will scream when we have to make him stop!

Mal loves it when I let him drink the dregs of his oatmeal straight from the bowl.

It was such a pleasant evening at Sunday dinner at my mom's house, we sat out on the patio and played games.

Last week I was indoctrinated into true mormon womanhood... I canned. Brenna and I canned tomatoes and salsa from my dad's garden.

I set this up for Malcolm so that he could sit while I did yard work. Afro liked it too and wouldn't move until I put the umbrella away.

Malcolm pulls himself up onto one knee and one foot all the time now. Including in the bathtub.

The one foot, on knee stance that Malcolm is mastering. He's so close to crawling!

When I was breastfeeding, half my calories went to Malcolm. Now that he's a toddler, it's about the same...

another photo of our sunday afternoon hike at Silver Lake.

More prepping for our adventures for the weekend!

This is actually one that got left out from last week's Last Week's Pictures. From when we went walking up by the Bountiful Temple on Sunday afternoon.

Malcolm pinches sometimes... hard!

My baby belongs in GQ, what can I say? :)

Last, but not least, life with a toddler. He can't even crawl and it's still crazy in every room!
Autumn Hike: Silver Lake
Our computer is having some serious issues. It SO annoying! It freezes mid type and mid mouse movement! So this will be short and sweet. Though it's taking me forever to actually type this.
We went up to Silver Lake at Brighton on Sunday to walk in the fall colors. I dunno if it was because it was the Brigham City Temple Dedication and anyone with young kids couldn't really go, or what; but there were TONS of people up there. Mostly young families. It's an easy walk too, so that adds to it. I would have preferred more solitude, but what can you do? The views were lovely though! (I tried to cut out people in most of the pictures. So the crowded ness doesn't really show. But I promise, the people were everywhere.)

Wendover Air Show
Malcolm and I had a discussion and we decided that it would be fun to take a quick trip to Wendover, NV on Saturday for the Wendover Wings Air Show while Mommy slept off her night shift yesterday! This was big for me since I hadn't been anywhere with Malcolm alone like this so far away from backup. But how hard could it be? Mal's a trooper, I'm a good dad, and there's airplanes! So we hopped in the car for the 2 hour drive to fun.
When we got there I had to pee so bad! There were only porta-potties available and no one to watch the boy when I went in. So Mal got to sit on the toilet while I went in the urinal. TMI? Probably, but I'm glad I wasn't a girl. I don't know how that could have been done. Being alone can be hard!
After the first (and only) real challenge of the afternoon completed, Mal and I wandered over the airfield and looked at all the cool things!
This is a refueling tanker the Air Force uses to increase the range of their aircraft from finite to infinite! I should have got a picture of the fueling rod doo-hickey on the rear of the plane. Not as large as I thought. That takes some pretty precision flying to get that connected.
One of the highlights of the show were these wing walker psychos, I mean performers. This was from when they were warming up, doing a preshow. The lady on the top of the plane is standing and waving. Later on she was laying flat on one of the wing supports between the wings, hanging off upside down off the lower wing, and climbing all over the plane getting to her spots. It was pretty crazy.
The base is also a place for local pilots to store their planes, and they allowed vistors to fly in until about 10:30 am. So there were many, many private planes to look at. I thought this one was neat.
At about noon thirty they made an announcement that the aerobatics portion of the show was going to start. I got the borrowed (Thanks, Hadlows!) ear protection for Mal to put on. He wore them for 0.4 seconds before deciding he couldn't hear and wanted them off. That's cool, Mal. You won't need to hear later anyway.
Luckily, but sadly, there weren't any jets in the program, so no ear protection turned out to be fine. The flyby by the F-16s that was supposed to happen didn't even happen.
Later in the afternoon that P-51 was going to perform. Mal didn't last that long. But it was pretty to look at!
This guy is in the air in the first picture on the blog. The announcer was going on and on about this Steelman airplane and how it was used as a training aircraft for WWI pilots before they graduated onto the actual fighter planes, and how we're lucky to have such a capable pilot doing the maneuvers we're seeing in this old plane. Then about halfway through the set he says, whoops! I've just been told this is a custom build the pilot did himself over 17 years. It pays to be reading the right copy, folks! That was pretty funny.
After their sets the pilots would take their planes down the strip in front of the spectators. I learned that on this plane, then I was ready for the best plane I saw coming up.
You guys, this P4U Corsair was beautiful. Beautiful. The highlight of the afternoon for me. It would make huge circles and pass us going a million miles an hour. Overhearing some of the older spectators ooh and ahh over this plane they were in love with was something else. One said as this pass was just completed, "No wonder the Japanese hated them things so much." And it's true, it was an awe inspiring sight to see, and I was actually choked up watching that thing fly over us. Just an amazing experience.
Like I said, I was in the right place for this one to pass the spectators. I was at the end so I could see it turn around even. Just a beautiful machine.
That was the highlight.
After about four hours Mal was ready for a nap and I had walked at least 20 miles going back and forth across the airstrip. I learned that stopping the stroller would make Mal angry. He must have liked the breeze. The weather was perfect, the sights were great, and the drive was easy. It was a great time!

Last Week's Pictures 09/11-09/18
On Monday, we bought trees! they were almost the length of the inside of the car. See the branch peeking around Ryan?
Thursday night date night. went to cheesecake factory, ate cheesecake near the temple, then visited the church history museum.
After the Color Run, and had wiped off some of our color, leaving just a lovely uni-brow and almost mustache. It was a nice look for me, no?
After the Color Run, we had brunch at IHOP. Malcolm loved his blueberry pancakes!
Goofing off in the car before going to my mom's house for the BYU/Utah football game.
Malcolm's cute Hulk shirt, I need to find more super hero shirts, they're fun.
Found this picture at my mom's house of the old 20th ward Primary visiting the temple. The date on the back was March 1993.
Some of us went on a walk up on Bountiful Boulevard on Sunday by the Bountiful Temple. This view of Antelope Island always means home to me.
Bridget and Dad on our walk.
