Last Week's Pictures 8/21-8/27

Oh yes, the latest edition of Last Weeks Pictures!
I've kind of been on a kick of adding text to my photos on Instagram, and played with lots of my phone's apps.

This little beauty came in the mail on Monday last week.  I've used it for a whole week now, and it's pretty handy.  I use it pretty much every day, and my floors are much cleaner.

all last week there has been a company of restoration masons repairing our neighbors wall.  I forgot sometimes that they were there and I'd walk out and SURPRISE!  There's dudes in my back yard!

I brought watermelon to the YW/YM activity on Tuesday, and Malcolm enjoyed the left overs the rest of the week.  This kid can put it away!

waiting for the bus at the temple openhouse.  Here's a bunch more from the Temple open house.  I suppose I could have put them with that separate post, but oh well...

After dinner on Friday

After a walk sometime on Saturday in Lava.

The Lava 'L'

This silly boy in the car.  He was pushing on his shade and just jabbering away like always.

He bit me really hard while I was fishing the pink foam out of his mouth...

Monday night, we had beets.  I was so gruesome looking after peeling them!

ah yes, on Monday I got my Boden catalogue.  I went through and picked all my favorite pieces that  I would buy if I had the money.  The next day I found some substitutes for those red cropped trousers!  But that, of course, goes on next week's edition of Last Week's Pictures! :)

Lava, Part 2 (Day II)

The second day at Lava, we spent the morning packing up and loading up so that we were ready to go.  We got a late check out, which was nice because Mom had somewhere to stay with three babies!  Yup, she had Quinn, Denali, and Malcolm all to herself, while the rest of us went to the zipline!
It was lots of fun, I'd never zip lined before.
They take you out up the old highway near Lava in an old army truck.  It was pretty awesome.  Ryan asked if he could have one.

They have two ziplines, well, actually three.  But one you can only do with a smaller group and all members of the group have to be adults with a certain athletic ability and weight limit.  Anyhoo, we did the two usual ones.  They loaded us up in our gear, then sent us hiking up the hill to the zipline.  We sure got our exercise!
The first time down, you're supposed to just ride with no funny business, then after that you can go upside down, take pictures, and do whatever you want.
So the second time down, I went first and got pictures of everyone coming in.

Then, third time down, I got everyone as they were headed off.

This is dad, upside down.  Hard to see, he blends in.

The whole family!
The second zipline was much taller and faster!  And the hike was much steeper.  Whew!  I didn't take many pictures, just enjoyed myself from there on out.

This is Ryan, all balled up.  You would go fastest this way.  I liked the aerobatics better myself.  I'd rather swing and hang upside down. :)

Before we left, they also had us compete in climbing a rope.  Dad made it almost all the way, and Andrew, of course, made it to the top--no feet.  Not that anyone else didn't put in a good try.  That rope was slippery!

After the zipline, we had planned to run the river.  But it's so low right now, and we were plenty tired from hiking up the the zipline over and over.  We ended up just getting us some lunch and then heading back home.  There was lots more I didn't take pictures of.  Lots of games we played and just plain hanging out and eating, you know the stuff.  We had a ton of fun.  I was really glad to have the opportunity to party with my family!  It was good times for everyone.

Lava, Part 2 (Day I)

We spent the weekend in Lava with the whole Dearden family.  It was lots of fun.  We rented a house that fit every single one of us, each family even got their own room!  It was a nice spot.  The owners are selling the house though, they say it's too much work (which it would be if you don't hire property managers or cleaners and do it all yourself).  Hopefully, whoever buys it will rent it out still, and for as reasonable a price.

This is the house.  Not big, but the basement makes it so there's 7 bedrooms!
It had a good backyard for ladder ball!  Which we brought, of course.

The first morning, while waiting for the pool to open, we played some ladder ball and I did sidewalk chalk with Bridget.

Hopscotch!  Bridget plays it pretty funny.  Just hops around and throws her rock willy nilly.  Then, "look!  I did it!"
It's hard to tell, but I traced Bridget here.  I put her head under the shade of the motorcycle just so the sun wasn't in her eyes.  Then it looked like she was a victim at a crime scene.  :)

At 11:00 when the pool opened, we all headed over and spent most of the day there. Ryan went home with Malcolm a little early for his nap time.  It was nice to have someone else there so I could actually get some swimming in.

Just before the pool, Dad had gone to sign us up for the new zipline.  At their shop, they sold some tie-dye.  And since dad is kind of a tie-dye freak, and wears bandanas all the time to absorb sweat while doing whatever, he had to get about 10 of these little beauties.  Aren't we cute tie-dye pirates?

We played games in the afternoon, then went to the hotpools at dusk.  Malcolm did just fine, in fact, he loved it.  It was past his bedtime, so he was all sorts of punchy.

Apparently, so was Brenna.  Ha!  had to post this one because of her face.

After we got back, laura threw away her super old, super stretched out swimsuit.  It was apparently pretty hard.  Some sentimental value I think.  I think she even wore it on swim team.
