Beach

For spring break, I took off with the kids on a last minute getaway to Cali. It was a quick trip but we sure packed a lot in! Neeley has been begging to go to the beach and we were super bummed when we had rain after Tenille's wedding a few weeks back.
Mother Nature sure cooperated this time! What a GREAT day! We had a great time collecting shells, running through waves, flying kites, playing with bubbles, and just enjoying the sunshine.

Westy's favorite friend

We all know about Westy's fascination with wheels. When he was just itty bitty, we could get his attention by spinning a toy car wheel. Family gatherings are no different. Westy caught on that Casey comes with wheels and now he's obsessed. From the time he could just barely crawl, Westy has always managed to seek out Casey. Casey has been super patient with Westy and always scoops him up and takes him for a ride.

My favorite memory of these two was when we were out at the sand piles for the Hunt boys birthday party and Casey scooped up Westy and really took him for a fast spin. Westy (probably about 10 months at the time) just rode around with his hands straight up in the air like he was on his favorite roller coaster ride. Oh how I wish I had it on camera.

This picture really doesn't capture the true spirit of this little friendship, but I have to giggle at Westy holding onto Casey's tie for dear life.

Where's Westy?

The other day I was in a bit of a panick because my now walking Westy was nowhere to be found. I noticed the garage door was open so I peeked in the garage and found the following.

He would not hear of me bringing him in. He'll sit with Ryan as long as he possibly can if it means he can "drive" the car.

Let them eat cakes!

I know it seems I've been MIA. For good reason too. I've been working on these babies for what seems like eternity. In an earlier post I mentioned that I was finished making bundt cakes for my sister's wedding. Not so. I panicked on the last day and baked another dozen, or two, or three. After so much babying, making the cake stands, and assembling, I am so happy to be rid of this project.
