bye bye birdie

took the boys to tracy aviary. i haven't been there since i was a kid and honestly there's not as much to see as i'd remembered, however it is nicely shaded for the most part :) well, miles loves birds so i knew it would be a big hit with my kids- and it was. they loved the "pink" birds
and the baby ducks
they even loved each other that day ;)

this poor peacock got chased around by the both of them, until he finally got smart enough and flew up onto the roof of a small building

they loved the exhibits that got you close to the birds and every time we exited one miles would say "bye, bye birdie" and wave...too cute!

summa time

while ryan was trying to "green up" a dead spot on our yard, mac decided to use the sprinkler to cool down.
even rex was so hot he ran through with him.

huntington beach

a few weeks ago ry and i took the two boys on a much needed vacation to huntington beach, disneyland, and california adventure. the kids had a blast, but it was definitely a lot more work than ry and i had intended. between potty breaks, nap times, long lines, and the heat, the kids, and us :), were exhausted by the end of the day. i think next time we do a disneyland trip we will wait for the kids to be a bit older. although mac was braver than i thought he would be- he went on splash mountain and a few of the bigger rides with his dad, he wasn't tall enough for a few of the good ones. but that's not even the thing that got ry and i. it was the fact that mac cried for the neighbor bubba, he cried for his dog, he cried for kaysville, and even the skecher light shoes my mom told him over the phone she bought for him. yes, at one point he cried for just about anything....we're in the happiest place on earth and the kid is crying for kaysville...go figure. anyways, i took a ton of pics, but here are a few of the better ones. our cute fam

mac absolutely loved the beach. we probably could have come here the entire time, rather than go to the parks, and he would have had just as much fun. seriously.
