nursery

miss scarlett's nursery is being featured on utah baby blog! it's still a bit of a work in progress, as i haven't had time to get any pictures printed and put up yet and i'm needing something for all her cute bows, but i'm already in love with how it's turned out!
check it out.

sneak peek........

take a close look at that cute patchwork quilt. ryan's mom made it for scarlett and quilted the entire thing by hand! it's to die for. also, notice the cute afghan draped over the rocking chair. my mom crocheted that for scarlett. it's to die for. lucky girl to have such talented grandmas!

christmas sing

mac had his preschool "christmas sing" yesterday. it was super cute to watch him interact with his classmates, even if he didn't sing much at first. but once he warmed up to the idea of everybody watching, he got into it and did pretty good.
the kids got a surprise visit from mr. claus himself. you should have seen the looks on their faces when they finished their program and he came walking in. precious.

i know everybody says this, but man, kids grow up way too fast....next thing i know i'll be watching his high school graduation :(

our family is now a family of five :)

check out this link for an amazing birth story

some of you might think it's too intimate of a situation to have a someone journal, but the results, which i get to have forever, were so worth it. i can't thank jen enough.

my boys

as always, jen is able to capture the perfect shots of my two busy boys. seriously, this time we decided not to fight with them and simply take pics of them doin' what they do.....playing in the dirt, jumping off rocks, jumping on mom and dad's bed, playing hide-n-seek, you get the idea. i honestly didn't think any of them would turn out 'cause they were still stinkers as soon as she took the camera out, but she did. i don't know how, but she did. hopefully this little girl will be a little less camera shy :) well, we'll find out in about 9 days!

hoedown

our little man turned 2 today. we had a cowboy themed birthday party for him saturday at the house and rented a party pony for all the kids. some of the kids were terrified of the pony while others, including miles, loved it :) the weather couldn't have been more perfect! we had a cowboy lunch with mini hamburgers, mac & cheese, beans, corn on the cob, pickles, and bottled root beer. cowboy giveawaysmiles cute cakeleave it to miles to leave the party and have just as much fun jumping off rocks
all the helpers we could have needed :)lovin' the pony ride, hatin' his picture taken

soccer star

some of you may have read the post about mac's soccer season during the spring. to sum it up- he pretty much could have cared less about it. well, for some unknown reason this season was totally different. mac absolutely loved it! he scored at least two goals (one game he even got 6) at every game and was really starting to get the hang of dribbling. it was nice to see him get into it and it definitely made it much more fun to watch too :) we got there early so i let the boys play at the park for a bit. did you notice miles' attire? he insisted on wearing his "soccer" clothes too that day.

love this one! (some of you who grew up playing with me might notice the jersey #.......yep #4...same as me :)

ok, the teams are supposed to be for kids age 5 and under, but does this kid from the other team look like he's at least 8? he was an entire head and shoulders taller than anybody else out there!

poor miles wants to play sooooo bad. it's the hardest thing to make him sit patiently while his big brother gets to play :( notice the additional teammate in this one? i usually spend most of the game trying to keep miles off the field.

haha...i had to post this picture. if you notice mac is about to take a corner kick and this is my dad sitting next to the field. well mac, whom absolutely loves my dad, hurried and ran over to him, completely messed up his hair, and then ran back over in time to take the kick! it was the funniest thing!
