Raegan at 6 Years Old

Raegan:





  • weighs 41 pounds. 
  • loves art. Her favorite medium is paint. 
  • wears size 13 shoes and has very flat, narrow feet.
  • is all about a leopard print.
  • lost 4 bottom teeth. 
  • is very creative and resourceful. She makes costumes for herself and outfits and housing for her dolls out of miscellaneous items.
  • could graze all day. Her favorite foods are all kinds of fruit, yogurt, ice cream, steak, bread, lemonade, hummus and chips, tomato soup, peanut butter, and Pei Wei honey chicken. She thinks it's terrible to kill and eat animals, but hasn't made the connection yet to all forms of meat. 
  • was voted class president at school. 
  • loves to read. Her favorite books/characters are Fancy Nancy, Magic Treehouse series, Ramona series, 
  • is playing her second season of soccer. 
  • loves to listen to music. Her jams are You Can Call Me Al, songs from Brave, Believe, Theme from Superman, Theme from Wonder Woman, You Should be Dancing
  • sometimes has nightmares and leg cramps in her sleep. 
  • likes to wear her hair down every day.

  • begs for a dog on a regular basis and promises to take care of it. 
  • is mostly patient with Wyatt but has banished him from her room (for good reasons).

Wyatt turns 2!... a while ago

Poor neglected blog :( Wyatt turned 2 in December. Here's what he is up to at 2 1/4. 
  • favorite foods are yogurt, chicken noodle soup, potatoes, carrots, bananas, applesauce, milk, ice cream, apples, blueberries, broccoli (all of a sudden), chicken, lollipops, baked apples, fries, almonds, peanut butter on a spoon
  • favorite books: Goodnight Moon, Alphabet Trucks, Going to Bed Book, Dear Zoo, Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site, Elephant and Piggie
  • words that I love to hear him say: gee dat (give me that, in a silly tone), brocky (broccoli), minnon (Minion), Raegan, papa, Annie, friend, not nice, stop it, no sir, hit Raegan hurts, vickle (vehicle), sit minutes (telling on himself when he's been in timeout), snowman, dump truck, packy truck (package truck), fire truck, bull dozer, crane, car wash all done!, shina moon (Shine the moon = turn on the moon on his wall), read, stinky feet, mom coming?, you okay? (he asks this many times a day when people sneeze or cough or when a dog barks), it's raining, it's snowing, jacket off, be naked, scuse me I burt (Excuse me, I burped, then he laughs), dad run, geetar (guitar), grabbage truck
  • recently had a growth spurt and moved to size 3T clothes and size 9 shoe
  • had a tooth pulled a couple of weeks ago. It never fully calcified when it was supposed to, and it was decaying. 
  • still takes one nap a day
  • is very silly
  • loves to sing! Some of his favorite songs are from Pocahontas. Raegan has the CDs and jams to them in her room. He loves "Steady as the Beating Drum." Sometimes he runs around the couch singing "Just Around the Riverbend." He also likes The Beatles, thank you very much. At the grocery store recently, he heard a Beatles' song on the speakers. He said, "Paul!" I told him it was John, and he said, "John! Yoko!" 
  • weighs 32 pounds and is 36 inches tall (88th percentile for both) Basically, his torso is a barrel full of lead. 
  • favorite things to do: read books about trucks, chase, roll cars over any flat surface (tables, floor, walls, counters), rock himself on the couch, yell out every type of vehicle he sees when we're in the car, mess with Raegan, lay on Raegan's bed on her pillow, try to pee in the floor, take baths, watch for trucks out the living room window, play trains, laugh, go for walks, dig in the dirt with spoons, be naked

Offspring Update

Raegan at 5 years old:


  • finished preschool and can: write her first and last name without help, recite our phone number, cut, paste, etc.
  • weighs 35 pounds. 
  • is 42 inches tall (75th percentile) 
  • is into Wonder Woman (Lynda Carter version) and Superman, Frozen, and sometimes Harry Potter and Mary Poppins makes an appearance.
  • wants to start reading "books with no pictures, just interesting words." 
  • wears a size 11.5/12 shoe.
  • loves Wyatt and wants him to stay a baby forever and live with us until he's 20. She frequently tells us she wants to live with us forever but doesn't want us to get older and turn into grandparents. 
  • asks a lot of questions about why people are different. 
  • has very specific opinions about her clothes and shoes.
  • recognizes words she doesn't know and asks what they mean.
  • wants us to tell stories all the day long. 
  • hijacks my phone and takes 40 pictures of her shoes. 
  • wants to be a doctor, investigator, and an artist. 
  • loves to write and draw, and her drawings are becoming much more detailed. 
  • likes to have lemonade stands and has made quite a bit from kind neighbors. 
  • is so excited about Kindergarten after not wanting to go. 
  • likes to listen to Veggietales songs, Despicable Me soundtrack, and Frozen soundtrack. 












Wyatt at 18 months:
  • weighs 28 pounds.
  • has 16 teeth.
  • takes one nap midday for 2 - 2.5 hours.
  • sleeps all night.
  • wears size 6 shoes.
  • is on track to be 6'2". 
  • is a good eater. His favorites are oatmeal, bananas, soft granola bars, watermelon, cantaloup, soup, chicken, fries, goldfish, and yogurt.
  • likes to wrap blankets around his shoulders and head like a cape/bonnet.
  • wants to drink everyone else's water.
  • new words: "ack" (snack), "off", "eff" (his elephant lovey), "pees" (please), poop, "ahju" (hold you, hold me, could also mean achoo, hurt you, or let's sing Hey Jude), row row (row your boat), "ash" (splash, take a bath), "hot" (sometimes sounds more like haaaawt), "zah" (pizza, like Michael Scott from "The Office"), "ish" (gold fish), "keek" (squeak, the squeegee in our shower), "sssssstoop" (soup), "hush" (from Goodnight Moon), "hayel" (Hale), "moan" (moon), "H" (orange), "chee" (tree), "cah" (car), "apple"
  • loves to chase and tickle.
  • hits his head on things when he's mad. I thought we had moved past it, but it's back. He knows he shouldn't do it and can stop himself when he wants to. It's always been a comforting thing for him to hit his head on his mattress since we was 5 or 6 months old. It became his soothing mechanism for putting himself to sleep. Now we really have to watch him when he gets mad over not getting his way because he will try to hit his head on the floor, a cabinet, the dishwasher, etc. :/ 
  • is obsessed with Goodnight Moon. He runs around looking for it, saying "book" or "hush." 
  • brings me the bag of tortilla chips or veggie straws at random times and says "pees." 
  • likes to wear sunglasses.
  • loves being outside. He gets mad when I say we need to go and we don't go immediately. He stands at the back door and yells. 
  • loves to rock in the recliner and on the couch. He doesn't usually let us rock him in the chair, though. 
  • likes to wear Raegan's shoes around the house.
  • hates being changed and runs away. 
  • is getting much better with his manners. He used to yell at us for everything, like a crazy purple minion. Now he says "pees" but his limit is 3 times of asking, and if we don't react right away it's "Pees. Pees. Pees! Baaahhhh!!"

15 Months



Wyatt:
  • takes 2 naps a day. Occasionally he does not fall asleep for the 2nd one. 
  • weighs 27 pounds (95th percentile). 
  • sleeps from around 7:30pm - 6:30am! Hooray!!
  • started walking between 13 and 14 months. He's big time stuff now.
  • has 4 molars and handled it well. I think the canines are close behind. He's been fussy and chewing his fingers. 
  • has a few mild eczema spots, but overall his skin is doing well. 
  • loves bananas and also enjoys pancakes, beans, chicken, sweet potatoes, peas, noodles, gold fish, apple slices, cantaloup, cheese, yogurt, oatmeal, turkey
  • says "book," "gilk"(milk), "bock" (blocks), "go," "up," "stess" (stairs), "stop," "yes," "no," "da" (dad), "ma," "coke" (he thinks everything except milk is coke), "cook," "baby," "tan too" (thank you), "this" (one of his favorite words and he says it all day as he points to things he wants), "dat" (that), "sis tuh" (sister), "hi," "bye," "done," "stuck," "ball," "ah side" (outside), "pay" (play), "shoes" 
  • scurries away and laughs when we say it's time to change him.
  • crawls over us when we lie on the floor. 
  • laughs when he burps and tries to burp again. 
  • is starting to put things in containers instead of just dumping them out. 
  • thinks it's hilarious to sip and spray his water and milk between his teeth.
  • loves bath time with Raegan and does not want to get out.
  • can be difficult to change, and I feel like I've wrestled an alligator by the time we're done. 
  • loves his elephant lovey and makes an elephant sound to ask for it. 
  • is instinctively drawn to whatever toys I am cleaning up and decides it's time to dump them out again.
  • has a quick temper and does not like to be told "no." 
  • uses random objects as a phone.
  • goes down the small slide head first. 
  • says "stop" very emphatically and at appropriate (and funny) times. Other times, it has nothing to do with what's going on.
  • got his first pair of walking shoes from Pediped (size 18-24 months). He doesn't seem to mind them at all. He only wears them at the playground at Raegan's school. 
  • plays in the sand and bounces on the see-saw at Raegan's playground.

12 Months

Mr. Wyatt:


  • weighs at least 24 pounds.
  • wears 18-24 month clothes. 
  • plays all kinds of games with us: chase, hide and seek, tag.
  • has 8 teeth (We recently found out one did not fully calcify, which is causing the dark spot we noticed a few months ago). 
  • takes 2 naps a day.
  • crawls and pulls up on furniture and any low object.
  • cruises around on furniture.
  • loves all kinds of meat, bananas, breads, avocado, sweet potatoes, apples, yogurt, cheese, cooked carrots, broth.
  • says "da," "mama," "ball", "duh" (dog), "buh…k" (book), "ah duh" (all done eating), "stahs" (stars on his ceiling at night) , "stop", "bilk" or "gilk" (milk).
  • signs for "help," "all done," "drink," "change," "cheese"
  • sleeps with an elephant lovey and is growing more attached to it.
  • does not like to wear socks.
  • has fun in the bath tub.
  • can crawl up the whole flight of stairs.
  • gets 3 bottles of whole milk a day and nurses at bed time.
  • likes to roll around on pillows on the floor and throw himself backwards onto them.
  • does not hesitate or stop when he comes to the edge of a surface (bed, changing table, couch, etc.). 
  • likes to sit and throw blocks and crayons behind his head.
  • drinks water from a sippy cup with a straw.
  • stands up in his bed.
  • loves Raegan's kitchen and doll house.
  • attacks Raegan while she's eating an apple and tries to take it from her.

11 Months


Mr. Wyatt:
     
  • weighs 24 pounds.
  • size 18 month and some 24 month clothing (due to cloth diapers… and being huge).
  • takes 2 naps a day. 
  • has 8 teeth.
  • falls asleep by himself.
  • crawls all over the place.
  • takes his socks off as soon as I put them on. 
  • has very sensitive skin. 
  • tries to pull up on furniture.
  • had croup last week. :( 
  • loves to play with Raegan's doll house. kitchen, and pretend food.
  • says "all done" (more like "ah duh").
  • snuggles his elephant blanket while he sleeps.
  • loves the Christmas tree lights.
  • still eats some purees but is moving towards all finger foods. Some of his favorites are chicken, fish, Cheerios, pork roast, peas, toast, chicken broth-based soups, cheese, and turkey. He loved Thanksgiving dinner!
  • is so playful! He plays peek-a-boo with his elephant over his face. He also holds it up to my face and pulls it away. He crawls to Ryan and they play tag. 
  • tries to stand on his own and ends up in the downward dog yoga pose. 
  • has had a little whole milk this week with permission from his pediatrician.
