February (In Pics)

I tried to take a picture every day this month and fell short about 5 days. I came close though! This month has just flown by. We had a fun V-day, a few warm days where got out and played in the sand, rode the trike, and went on walks. We visited the airplane museum with cousins,
the aquarium, and had grandma and grandpa come over to play.
Can't wait for springtime to get here!

A post just 'cuz I'm bored

Weston spent the weekend at grandma and grandpa Emmett's and although it has been a nice break, I am wondering what we ever did without him! It's weird, and a little too quiet in the house. However, I did get to spend some quality time with the husband and going out to eat without a toddler is a completely different experience. Much more relaxing. I also went to the gym and got a ton done around the house.
So it's been good. And here are some random thoughts I've been thinking lately, mostly on the treadmill today, sometimes my mind wonders.

Some things I am 100% sure I will never do:

Have professional "Maternity" photos taken of me: I am not disregarding the fact that pregnancy and growing a baby is a beautiful and wonderful thing. (especially the baby at the end:)  I just don't think any pregnant body is "cute". Sorry. Is that rude of me. And I'm not sure why people grab my belly and say, "cute".  I will never spend good money on taking pictures of my pregnant body.  Anyway, no disrespect to the "maternity photo shoots,
but I just don't get it.

Go hunting: Shooting a beautiful animal in a beautiful setting dead cold does not sound cool at all.
That's just rude.

Get a boob job: Why do some girls want these pesky things even bigger?  I am feeling like Dolly Parton these days (pregnancy) and it isn't comfortable although I know I am still far from "big"...still.  I can't imagine running or doing fun active things with added weight to your chest.
Smaller the better, in my opinion.

Go Sky Diving: Strapping myself to someone I barely met and putting my life in their hands, and yeah, what if the parachute doesn't open...then what.

And that's about it.  I can't believe it's almost March! That means only 2 more months until this baby boy comes. I can't wait to meet him:) I'm sort of having a hard time deciding on a name.

Here is the current list.  I like simple names for the most part, nothing too trendy, crazy, or "made up".  Any suggestions would be great.
Jason
Owen
Austin
Logan
I love them all. I may just end up naming him Jason Owen Austin Logan Emmett.  Yeah, that sounds good.

Turning 2 (The Party)

Weston had his 2nd birthday party last month (on his birthday, I'm still catching up here.) He loved his "car" cake I made him. It wasn't Martha Stewart material, but hey, it was the best I could do given my less than perfect baking/creativity skills. Wes loved it though (especially the new hot wheel cars) and I loved watching his face light up when he saw it.
He took the cake eating seriously and soon mastered the efficiency of eating
with two forks instead of one.
Smart boy.
I really can't believe our little guy is 2 years old.
Since turning two, he has been doing so many new things. He is talking a LOT more and expressing himself better every day. He is very social and loves to be around people. Anytime someone comes over to the house he runs to the door to greet them and talk to them. He is not shy around strangers. (Probably not a good thing.) He gets a long really well with other kids for the most part and just wants to be part of the action wherever there are people.
He is starting to be less of a mama's boy and loving when his daddy gets home to play. Weston has become very particular about where things go and will tell you where to put things (perhaps a little OCD like his father, and mom sometimes.) He loves reading books, especially about dragons, monsters, or dinosaurs. He has become very independent and wants to do everything on his own. He is such a sweetheart, we love him so much.

Girl's Night Out

This was so needed. A night out with no kids, and no husband. Don't get me wrong, I love my son and hubby, but geez, it was nice to just sit and relax with my sisters and mom and converse with other adults. My sister just younger than me finally moved back to Utah! She has been away for a while so it's nice to have her closer. We all got together at the Chili's. I undoubtedly ate way too much.
Oh well.
 Mother and I.
 Half of us.
The other half.
Thanks for the fun night out!
