About Me

I have a wonderful hubs that supports my "talents" in most all avenues, except maybe when the credit card bill comes in the mail...LOL And I have 4 great kids and 5 beautiful grandchildren that I love to pieces. Making a spectacle with Spectrum Noir!!!

I'm having way too much fun with these markers.
I would love to start teaching classes.

I have loved coloring my whole life.
Who didn't love that new box of Crayola's...the smell, the sharp point...
so pristine.
I digress......now I've graduated into a whole new world of coloring and
its a wonderful world.

The image is from Saturated Canary.
There are a lot of cute ones just like the one below.

u

I used a LOT of markers to create this one.

I just keep on grabbin' them out of the holder and adding more and more color.

Hope you enjoy this world of color as much as I do.

Until later, other worldly beings......Gotta color split........TFL!!!!!

Where are your FLYING MONKEYS when you need them????

Hey look.....there's one right there!!!

Not sure how tough this one actually is....'or maybe the halo is just a disguise.
Bwahahahahahahahaah!!!!

I created this for a challenge on the Spectrum Noir blog
Once a month they post a themed challenge.
This month (March) the theme is "Use a sentiment" on the front of the card.
I love this saying....I say it to the hubs when I get upset with him......Bwahahahahahahaha!!!

The image is from Melonheads.  Her stuff is so cute.
The sentiment is from Impressions Obsessions clear stamp set.

Here are the markers I used.

This is SOOOOO me!!!!

I'm going to enter it into the Spectrum Noir Connosseurs FB group that I belong to also.
The theme for the challenge on the group is "Anything Goes".

Until later, freakin' colorists......Gotta split color .......TFL!!!!

A wee bit of Irish luck

I created this beauty for two different challenge blogs.

First up is BBTB2
Their challenge this week is National Old Stuff Day.....
to use a cartridge that you haven't used in a while.
I chose 3 birds on Parade.
This bird cage already had the vine....I just added a four leaf clover image in several places
and added it on top of the existing vine and welded it together.

The next blog is Fantabulous Cricut Challenge.
Their challenge theme was, can you guess???
Yep,  it was St. Paddy's day.

I used Sour Apple Cricut pen to write the sentiment.

After I had it all together I thought that it needed something extra.
So,  I used a MS heart punch and created the large 4-leaf clover to put in the corner.
Added some jewels and call it done.

Until later, Paddys and Lasses..........Gotta split.......TFL!!!!!

Exploring my signature

I saw a lot of people were decorating their Cricut Explores.
I waited and looked at a lot of different designs and just could not come up
with anything that suited me personally.

If you know me....I not only 'think' outside of the box......
I create the box to think outside of....
Bwaahhahahahahahahahahahaa!!!

I wanted to give it a name...but the best name for it was mine......CRYSTAL.
I like to think that I'm as smart as this machine/program.
So what better name than my own.

Here she is.........
wearing her infamous glasses.
I use a large sharpie and signed my signature on a piece of paper and then scanned it.
Uploaded it into Inkscape and created a SVG to upload into Design Space.

Then I started creating my design.

The eyes are from Photo Booth Props and glasses are from Bits and Pieces cart.

The glue pen is from Cricut Everyday cart.

Of course I altered all of the images to suit me.
(outside of the box theory).
AND cut it all out of vinyl and adhered it to the top.

I'm wanting to see a lot more signatures on you own personal Cricut machines.
OR
EXPLORE your own personality and let it shine!!!!

Until later, fellow Explorers..........Gotta split........TFL!!!!

Whooo's EXPLORING with Spectrum Noir markers???

After visiting the Scrapbook Expo last year in Duluth, GA.
I was really intrigued with the outline stickers that you can
purchase to place on microfine glitter paper and then color with alcohol markers.

I decided I could try to make my own.  They actually sold the sheets that you applied the microfine glitter to....to create more glitter sheets.  That was the easy part.
I had some Stick 'n Hold for Crafts sheets.  Its a paper that has the adhesive in between two release paper.  I peeled off one side and applied it to some white card stock.

Then I peeled off the other release paper to reveal the adhesive,  I applied diamond color microfine glitter to the adhesive rubbing it in really well with my fingertips.
Use a lot of pressure to flatten out the glitter and push it into the adhesive.

Shake off excess and you have your base glitter sheet.

Now, the stickers that they had were just outlines of  various images.
Nothing really that appealed to me personally,
How was I going to create some fine line detail and then actually stick it on the glitter paper???
HMMMMM????

My Cricut Explore!!!!!!
YAY!!!!!
I found a free coloring page online and downloaded to my computer.  It happened to be a .png.
I opened Design Space and uploaded it and then added it to my mat.
Cleaned up all the negative spaces and then cut it using black card
stock.  Be vary careful removing it from the mat.....its fragile.

I used my 5" Xyron sticker maker to add the sticky on the back and
waaallaaaaa
I had an outline sticker.

So far, so good!!!!!

I used a small wallpaper seam roller to make sure that it was adhered really well to the glitter paper and then pulled out my Spectrum Noir markers and went to town coloring.
Now, don't freak out if you get some specks of glitter on your marker.
I just took a paper town and wiped them right off.

It looks just like the product I was drooling over at the Scrapbook Expo.
Look how thin those black card stock lines are.

Why not buy it while I was there?  Well,  I knew I had the adhesive sheets already and microfine glitter is so readily available.  I knew I could create the sheets at home.  The stickers were the issue, but that is solved now.  I can create ANY image I wish with my Explore.

Until later, fellow coloring explorers.......Gotta split color......TFL!!!!!!

Hubs RED card

I recently received some Spectrum Noir markers as a gift and
it was love at first mark.

Bwahahahahahahahahaha!!!

So, of course,  I had to go buy all of the sets (6 pack) to complete my set.
Now, all the 24 pack marker sets are on my wish list.
You hear that hubs........that would make a great
Valentine's giftie for me!!!(teehee)

Below is a card I created for the challenge at Spectrum Noir blog.
This months challenge is RED.

I colored the truck image (from a retired Stampin' Up! set).
I used DR5 & DR7 for the truck.  IG8 & True Black for the tires.
TB1 for the window highlight.
PP3 & PP5 for the 'load' of hearts.

I hope he 'loves' it!!!!

Until later,  colorists.....Gotta split drive........TFL!!!!

Exploring the EXPLORE

I was having a small issue trying to create the 'knock out test' for
an image I wanted to put on my Explore with vinyl.

Below the video will explain my dilemma and the solution.

Here is the final result.
I love how it turned out.

The colors of vinyl I used are a metallic bronze and yellow.

You can get the vinyl from Expressions vinyl.  Look on the sidebar ----->
for the link to their website.

It looks way more impressive IRL!!!

Until later, explorers............Gotta split......TFL!!!!
