sometimes really wished they didnt focus too much on cold, hard MSGs and grades... and make the classes compete against each other.... dont really think its very healthy. both for their own development and the culture:(

Action/Suspense- following instructions on a letter in the Bouquet to take a cab by urself to some ulu restaurant u never heard before. (worse:it has the name of an animal. was our project DaVinci code inspired?)
Surprise!-hehe. cake, candles birthday song! doesnt get any better than that everytime.:)
Comedy?-highlights include the obliging waitress with the unique cam-shot countdown command: "1..2..3.....
4! cheese. hehehe. so did our cake chef have a nice new way of numbering-

sat morning. (today).. was asked to help with the asia-pacific mathsolymp marking... was very apprehensive at first!! haha. ME? mark MATH. hmmm. -__-"
it was a pretty amusing and also cool affair.. i felt important sitting in the conference room piah-ing the marking with the rest of the teachers..
hahaha i was made the runner of my marking grp.. they said its cos i'm the youngest. we were assigned one question to mark.. for a total of about 15 groups.. or 400 over students. got chinese scripts for chinese-speaking countries! very cute. we had to plow thru explanations in chinese too...(divide="zheng3 chu2").
max time one minute per paper.. but good thing our question was pretty straightforward to mark!
haha quite frantic we were. but was all pretty exciting as well. my group had mrleekianseng and hweengee and a maths teacher from ny whom i only noe as msyeopt...:) all rather cute in their own ways.. very pro maths teachers i would say. haha in the process of marking they said i looked stressed out in comparison to them... =X
came home and sat down with my sis to watch Narnia. once again the desire to star in a big movie like that surfaces in my mind....heh:p the children were great.
then. and then. my maid came back from downstairs with the Mail.
there was a huge thick brown envelope.
with the letter On Govt Service on the front..
addressed to me.
palpitations ensued.
a bit of praying.. and careful peeling of the envelope flap reveals...
i got my t**ching sch****ship:)

gahh i tried to adapt a blogskin template so i could have a nice new look to this but there's something wrong with e way shutterfly's reading my images and after more than an hour of fiddling with the html..its STILL awry!!! sigh. irritated.:S
the karung guni man finally came today. the newspapers in the balcony were piling up.. soon to reach my height already ahaha. yeah he's kinda friendlier and more enthu than the other karung guni's we've met so far. hahaha have u ever met a karung guni with a NAMECARD? hahahaha. yeah shoved it into my maid's hands telling us he lives just round the corner at anchorvale and anytime our newspapers pile up? ok its really quite fast.. the last week of the term looms. marks the fourth week on my new job as an RA. three weeks seems very long. funny how i dont seem to remember myself accomplishing enuff substantial work assignments during this period of time.....ohh dear. :P
hahaha i sure get the feeling that things are starting to look a tad bit brighter these days.. cos of the company
i get and the pple i'm meeting and getting to noe in and around the school these days. :) ya to the discerning ones i'm the crazy woman who's been coming back to chinese high offering my services for THREE times already... quote Mrs Ng.. the lit subject head on my first day back at this job: "
HI JIACEEEN... WOW u're back a-GAAIN ahh...first time u were teaching... second time reliefing something else again.. now u're RA?? such a multi-tasker....." kk it doesnt sound really funny here.. gotta add her super HIGH-PITCHED and LOUD (aka entire chi high staffroom can hear) tone to it.
hahaha k lah i didnt really mind her and ms yeo discussing my err apparent idle-ness resulting in repeated loyalty to the school... i'm amused myself. and at least i think she didnt mean it in an unwelcome way. and i'm therefore maybe not seen as a stranger to more staff now:)
the sense of loneliness on THIS job was inevitable during the earlier phases of settling in.. yeah cos no gina py vernon kandy nimore... and it didnt help that the rather adorable nie teachers who filled the tables behind me and the entire column of tables on my right (i face a wall btw) were gone by the fifth day of the commencement of my job.
the third level of the staff block is generally less happening than the second level.. where i used to sit the past two stints.. more students more teachers walking around occasionally.. haha there's gossip...laffter.. occasional outbursts of bemused chatter from teachers huddled ard at each other's tables..
sitting upstairs is a lot more quieter i guess.. maybe i should console myself by knowing its good for sleeping hehehe... and contemplating...
and recently the tables left empty by the nie teachers have become slack-relac corners for yz and jiting and his intruder-frien. ahahaha. yz who cant stand being alone downstairs brings his papers up to mark.. holes up in the comfy chair to sleep or read his world cup mag.. jiting comes by to talk nonsense or read MY mags. hahaha yeah.. so in a way we can kinda slack when we want to in a number of ways without feeling too guilty abt disturbing other teachers.
wanted to go watch Over the Hedge with my momma. trying to sieve out places AWAY from hdb estates.. then figured kids were sighted at town places like lido and cine too.*remembers a horror harry potter and other cartoon movie experiences* so we put the idea off... and decided we'll wait til a nice holiday weekday ulu timeslot like 10am when the kids are still in bed before we troop off to watch. hehehehe. :)
alright i have also recently made a big decision. i'm scared but will pray for the best... gonna do something about the birthmark that has been with me all my life(haha k since i was five months old that is.) wonder how pple are going to see it....sigh. its all so troublesome. there's still the laopok eczema thats been recurring. i seem to have a lot of disorders related to the skin.
k going shopping with my momma and sista now. :)
