hk/shenzhen/macau05.
hEy..:)
me ish baaa-ck!
hahaha..HK rawked:) and shenzhen and macau were pretty cool too..
where do i start.. haha..
there was nice shopping of course..and great food..
for the record, the 4 of us checked in 3 luggages when we flew there. when we came back there were 7. :S
believe my canto improved a tiny leetle bit! haha. but most of the time me and my big sis were like ducks and chickens when we were talking (ji1 tong2 ya1 jiang3)to the locals...
Canto Bit!:
mm goi = thankew. :)yepyep. though got a bit scared by the sales people there in the shops.. be it in shenzhen or hk.. they're really pretty persistent.. stick to u the moment u enter the shop.. everytime u pick up something they'll go on for ages about it, trying to persuade u to buy.. then some really get annoyed when u dont buy after they've explained.. it really
showed on their faces man.. quite scary. haha.. but good thing its not really ALL the shops lah.. haha or maybe i learnt to show a super dao face so they wouldnt come near me so much anymore.
hk is really quite ahead of us in fashion man..hmm i guess the people in general are more daring and open to new styles and all? was also super excited when we went on our day tour of hk cos we went to a lot of those places like Tsim Sha Tsui, Repulse Bay, Aberdeen, The Peak and all......where all those wonderful TVB dramas were filmed!!! -beams- :) those familiar blue overhead signs on the road got me all excited.. hahaha.. didnt help that my mom and my sis and i strongly felt that our guide Benny looked like Jian Zhi Chao (gao jie's bro-in-law!) from detective investigation files I. lol.
yep. i saw jackie chan's house. haha. at repulse bay where lotsa celebs have property apparently. incl eason! :) there were lotsa big billboards about the city.. my FAAVVE one was the one with the Initial D movie poster...JAYYY!!! :) haha kept seeing those adverts around..with his face plastered over buses and roadside posts.. lol..:):) saw the MTV on macau tv for the movie theme song which he wrote! pretty cool. and ya know what. the movie opens today. muahahahahhaha.
the movie premiere with anthonywong, shawn, edison and him was the day i got home!
found out that my flight back to sg was just a few hours after his flight to sg. sigh... it's fate.
niwae i've got so much to say i dunno what else i should say cept that to get the best of hk flavours, yu must really tuck in to the local delights from the small eateries and roadside restaurants...=) i ate at this breakfast cafe where tony leung apparently frequents! for the wonderful steamed(dun4) eggwhitewithmilk it serves. haha. feeling blessed.
haha ooh. i went into a casino for the first time in macau. quite an eye opener..
must have easily been the youngest person there.. quite affected by the amount of smoke around.. on the streets and everywhere else too.. was with my big sis when we got approached by a loanshark.. lurking abt the atm machine in the casino. bleh. freeaky. :S
will also never forget how we literally walked from hk to shenzhen, and from shenzhen to macau.. past a long linkway thru customs packed with HORRDES of people.. was really quite frightening..i got very paranoid cos i heard so much about how many people who visit shenzhen met with robbers and all...
people there just keep walking into u.. shoving past you without bothering to look back..even when there's obviously a lot of space on the road..very kek-king!!!
..so i was like hugging my bag all the way.. preparing myself mentally to execute those foot-stepping, fist-flinging moves at the first sign of danger.. hahaha..
as u can see it was really quite traumatising..but a really unforgettable experience nonetheless. hehs :)
at shenzhen i had the privilege of viewing two AMAZING cultural performances. really spectacular. the dances themself were already fantastic. the costumes were glorious. there were live animals used made it all so real as they talked bout farming life or the history of warfare.. like there were warriors riding on horses galloping across...
the sets and lighting and stagework and props and effects were simply world-class. woohoo..at first really didnt expect to be this blown away. really spectacular! :)
hahaha i was super inspired k..the stagework's just brilliant.
tour guide says if we didnt see this. we never came to shenzhen.
u can say my initial skepticism was uprooted. :)
oh yah..it was raining cats and dogs those days we were in hk..esp the last day when we met with a storm that raised the amber warning signal! haha and we headed to lanma island (famous for seaaafoood) despite that.. shoes were soaked the whole day man..good thing the rain did subside at the appropriate times for shopping :) 11 years ago when we came it was dec and there was a rain spell too. hmm. makes us wonder...
hahah gosh cant believe i rambled on so much..
yepyep. got boxes and boxes of old wife's biscuit spread all over the table right now...calling out to me to get to them...
as i embark on all the exercising and mugging i kicked aside for the trip...
believe i will miss shopping. and eating. and shopping. and eating. :)
(and hearing canto! hahas)
hope ya pple missed me too. lol.
cya soon people =)
hold still.
trying to capture the last few hours of serenity in the house...
hahas..
=)
been quite nice... having the living room with da tv and sofa to myself..sleeping at the hour i deem fit without yakking/light/tv blasting in from outside.. with peace to mug a little in any corner of the house i desire.. surfing the net from any computer around..no catty fights for the bathroom.. no errands to run..
hahahas. to think i enjoy it so. i may really be a closet recluse.
i know i'll miss being a hermit.
k-ster klass outing.
kokky's burfday celebration at k-sterrr...=)
and pastamania.
very fun. =)
great. now have the opening sounds of shou fang kai playing and replaying in my head.. hahas.
at long last the elaborately planned surprise has concluded... hehes. feels quite unreal that it did. with the kind of classmates i have.. its like such things are perpertually ongoing... feels like i'm forever embroiled in one secret surprise planning or another..living in secrecy..anticipation..in a (not-so-cheap)thrill the whole time.. lol. :)
i shall hereby refer to the day's proceedings as Operation Blue-Black-White.
1100h. the day began and the agents streamed in from all corners of the island to our stipulated meeting point
then one of us agents had an idea. that could possible enhance our operation.
hence the agents conferred and it was agreed that we shall hunt for The Towel.
1115h. agents infiltrate the building known to civilians as Plaza Singapura (hereby referred to as "PS" for short). storm into Watson's at the basement level. search results--Negative.
1116h-(think agent lala speed). guardian was raided but to Negative outcome as well.
1117h. next target- Carrefour. the search at this location was relatively more intensive. shall not bare the details. being the resourceful agents that we were, quick to source for alternatives (from heavily tinted sunglasses to pseudo superhero masks and whatnot) til we finally tracked--The Towel.
1120h. BLUE Towel acquired. agents split to 2 different stations. agent irrational and agent cheekiez were to head to the Train Station: responsible for receiving our supposedly unsuspicious target. while agent lala, long, jias were to tread at lightning speed to...........the..........Restaurant. (responsible for booking seats and laying ambush).
1130h. [Location-Restaurant] agents lala, long and jias are settled in. they start to fumble over The Cake. encounter i'm-not-friendlylookin-but-reallyhelpful waiter at the Restaurant. who offers the agents assistance to preserve The Cake. hands agents stack of clean plates and cutlery presumably for consumption of The Cake. lends lighter. eventually lights The Candles on The Cake as well.
1133h. Agents conspire to pinch stacks of feedback forms from the counter and fill them out for Mr. i'm-not-friendlylookin-but-reallyhelpful to commend his services. Agents at the Restaurant are finally settled in. and await the arrival of fellow agents and our target.
1140h. our target arrives(finally). :) approaches the table cautiously under directions from agent. (BLUE Towel proven effective in rendering target temporarily visually-impaired.)
target finally touches the table. the BLUE Towel is pulled off! voila!
agents start a-singing :)...Part 1 of Operation successfully concluded. [end:1145h]
lol. kk that was rather tiring to type. hahaha.. yay we did our thing again.
haha..agents aa-ed in meaningful way at least -beams-
like make the target(kokkyyyyyyy) feel special i hope? haha..
yea yea we had delicious choc gateau cake.. bought specially by mavis(agent long! haha) ..then some pretty neat pasta..:)
in the end i think we only filled one feedback form for the nice nice waiter i think..hahaha.. didnt have time to let xuefen flaunt her correspondence-penning talents ;)
so we left for a crazy neoprint session.. where we had to step on the shutter to take the picture ourselves.. trying to huddle eight full-grown people together without falling and stomp the shutter at an appropriate timing...MADNESS!
yeah. was more photo-taking at some ulu corner of the mall.. lol.
then we waved byebye to lala and mavis.
then we headed to chinatown k-ster. wheee. :)
where we literally kicked off our shoes and had fun!! *grins*. kokky was the lishengjie song king..and cool duet partner who does some mean harmonising..:) zhiqi was the real song queen (she knew every song!) and my great htw gush partner ("xu shao yang! xu shao yang!") ..jasmine is the girl-with-an-attitude when singing(think songs like MAMA MAMA. hahaha she was really cutee doing that one!)and our hokkien song princess..alvin the up and coming Superstar(who can now handle anything from S.H.E. to Jay Chou) and jasmine's worthy hokkien song partner :)..xuefen arguably the mastermind behind this k-ster outing who is a really sweet k-ster partner who knows what people want instinctively and helps them dian it. :)
love ya people!!!
the outing rawked. :)
ah..will miss having fun wif ya pple leh.. got two weeks to endure. bleh.
chionged to the airport to send my parents off.. on their flight to m'sia. lol.
was just in time phew. with my big sis in (another part of) m'sia too. i'm left with auntie marie and occasionally(cos she's hardly IN the house heh)my second sis at home. had popeye's chicken at the airport for dinner yest. undaunted by the looooong queue. its really good fried chicken. and fries. and buttermilk biscuit:) good load of calories as well.
cant wait to go on my hk trip! :) even though the thought of the amount of work i have to cover before i leave sends chills down my spine...
haha try to enjoy the hols k peeps...:)
cya soon.
*shou fang kai rings in my head*
boo.
hey..
just heard they gonna disallow poultry rearing on pulau ubin.
health concerns. fear of the bird flu.
what's pulau ubin without the chickens and the geese and ducks?
:(
saddened.
extended upheaval of our native culture?
byebye.
sigh.
