More Pics of Alia

Our Newest Addition

This is Alia Toshina Rushton (aka Lollipop)

born on 6/24/08 at 3:30p.m.
WT: 8lb 2oz
length: 21 inch
Hair color: dark brown

Alia was about a week late and we were all getting a little impatient with the doctors about helping her come out.  However Toshina recieved a blessing that said that the baby would be born natural.  Boy did this ever happen as the time line will show:
10:00 had non-stress test
11:00 turned away at hospital for induction (they were full)
11:15 walked around the farmers market
12:00 Left the hospital for home
12:20 ate lunch at olive garden (started have strong contractions)
1:00 picked up the kids at the sitter
between
1:37 Ryan Called hosptial and they said "you will have to find another hospital we are full"
1:38(Ryan almost performed the first headectomy through cell phone reception to the nurse at the hosptial)
1:43 Ryan called insurance to ask about another hospital they told him that we couldn't go to another hosptial but that we could go to some child center and maybe they could deliver.
1:44 (Ryan almost performed the 2nd headectomy through cell phone reception to the insurance people)
2:00 Hospital calls back and have a room open
2:15 drop kids off
2:30 arrive at emergency room and unpack
2:45 arrive on dilivery unit
3:15 nurse giving IV
3:20 try to give epidural but stop because water breaks
3:29 Two Pushes and our little "lolly"
3:30 "Popped" out
WOW!!!!!!
Through this all Toshina was having horrible pain in contractions ranging from 2-5 min apart and between contractions she said the following "please don't get mad at the nurses at the hospital it is not their fault they are busy", then after that "at least I am not on a donkey or in a wagon"
So all through the pain and trial of which Ryan was only worring about "I don't want to deliver this baby in the car" Toshina was thinking about the feelings of others and how Mary the mother of Jesus felt and the pioneer lady's felt.  That is almost more amazing than the actual birth

We are at Cannon Beach and it's cold, but beautiful.

First hot sunny day in Portland.
We have had a wonderful time with Nicole and Dan Crawley, staying with us in Oregon.  It's been a blast for all the kids to playing together.  We wore them out everyday and they've worn us out at times too.
Korina, Justin, and Tyson after playing with the squirrel food.  We have four squirrel that are the kids entertainment at breakfast time in our backyard.

Our First Blog. Hurray
