...:::Taiwan~ NaRuWaN:::...
Here's a low down from Ms Budget Air Queen. Jetstar has relativey comfy seats but tight leg rooms compared to Valuair. Its lush leather seats compared to Valuair's thin PVC type. In any case, its good coz no one sang on the plane, which is a total relief. *HAH*
Taipei has a very good transportation system and their buses and trains are all very well-linked. I must say that i manage to get around in public transport and they are all quite affordable. Highlight is that you have to watch out of their scooters. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. They dont obey the traffic and look around you, as they may creep out from somewhere.
Anyway, just to share some inetersting travelling stories. Being on budget hotel, I am willing to accept sub-standards accomodation. Little do I know that its really basic and ehem... The hotel or should i correct it as motel, has only one lift, one reception/ cashier/ conceirge and a few tables set (all in the lobby) for the breakfst crowd. My room size is half of my own room size back at home. Sheets are dubiously clean as there were ciggie marks on it and towles provided- thin white, disposable looking type. When I stepped out and happended to look at a promotion by the hotel- it stated "Rest for 3 hrs @ NT$450". *raised eyebrow*It just speaks volumes when at 2am there were still check-ins and the walls are soo thin that I could hear lift door open and the ringing sound of phone in the next room??
Annnnyways..... Being on a shoestring budget, that is my restplace for the next 5 nights. Oh well, besides accomodation, I have visited so many night markets on every other nights. Fried Chicken Chop seasoned with spices and chilli was my snack most of the times. Throughout the week, i only consumed one proper lunch- (meaning the usual staple and a drink), the rest of dinners and lunch are all settled with roadside snacks and dessert!!
Best of all, I scrimped for a sensational Spa Hotel @ Yang Ming Shan. I tried more than 10 hot spring, communal tubs. Some are so hot that i thought my toes are cooked- yeah i could only survived putting my leggs in, whereas some are so cold that my brain stopped working for a while..... But conclusion.... go for the hot spring!
