Spring

The weather has been great so far this month so we've been spending as much time outside as possible. We really like hanging out on the deck and in the backyard after Shawn gets home from work and just spending time blowing bubbles and chasing them around the yard.
The little guy had a hard time walking in the jungle we called a backyard.
It was taken care of the next day.
Waiting for more bubbles!
We love popping bubbles!
16 months old!
He rediscovered Lou's water bowl and was getting in trouble for it every time I turned around, so we got him a water table and he's really having fun with it.
Being a little boy, playing in the dirt!

March

March was SUPER busy and we were gone for more than half of it.
Shawn had a conference in Texas for a week so Ethan, Lou, and I packed up and went to Nana and PopPop's for the week. We had a blast (of course) and the week flew by, but Shawn flew in and stayed with us for a few days before we went home. The weather was AMAZING that weekend and we took advantage by going to the zoo. Ethan loved it!

At the zoo with Daddy looking at camels
The Zoo! I know it's a lion, but when you ask Ethan what
the tiger says he goes "grrrr," but always says it in a whisper.
I was standing with him here and I asked him where Daddy was.
He found him!

He loved the chickens until 2 of them started getting in a fight and squaking in front of him. Ask him what a chicken says and he says "bok bok bok," but always in a whisper.
Watching Daddy do yard work, we helped by going to Sonic and getting him a slush!
Aren't we sweet?
His new favorite face to make
He had just woken up and I put him on the couch and left the room, I came back and he and Lou were watching tv together. When I got the camera out and started taking pictures they both shot me the same look like "are you kidding me?"
Playing in the backyard, enjoying this wonderful weather before it turns into sweltering heat. I'm so glad he keeps a hat on his head!

Catch Up! January and February

January and February!
Eating spaghetti and always willing to "share" his food.
(He must have gotten that from his Daddy)
Always interested in what Lou's doing by those bowls he's not allowed to touch
Blowing spaghetti kisses.
During lunch, watching it snow for the first time this year. He was fascinated!
We've become quite the kitchen "helper" lately.
I love that he's on his tip toes to get to the back of the cabinet.
Where's Ethan?
Nana and PopPop came to visit.
The first "big" snow worth getting him out in.
We didn't have a sled, but a trash can lid worked just fine!
(it's a trash can we put top soil bags in, not nasty trash)
Lou even donned his puffy jacket and joined in on the fun.
Of course he was sure to stay in the tracks Shawn had made.
Loving the ride!
He had missed a haircut due to the snow and when he finally got it he looked like a different child! He had a spunky little attitude for the first few days too, it was hilarious!
FINALLY in February he started walking on his own at 13 1/2 months!
Just being a big boy!
Sweet smiles in the morning
Reading books at his bookshelf. He loves to "read"
and spends a large amount of time there everyday.
Peek-A-Boo/Where's Ethan? is his favorite game right now.
It's a pretty constant game around here.
There he is!
14 months old
And our new favorite food: Black Beans!

Catch Up! December

December is a big month for everyone, but having all of your family live out of town and add a birthday in the mix and it just gets a little crazy. The month flew by, but we had a blast and got to have a lot of family time. We had Ethan's one year pictures done two weeks before his actual birthday. I think this is a fun comparison...

The first week in December 2009
The first week in December 2008
Poor Lou, it was freezing outside and he hates to be cold. He looks miserable!
Ethan LOVES Lou! Lou tolerates him.
Our Christmas Card
All Ethan's Grandparents made it into town for his birthday
Happy 1st Birthday! We love you!
And this is what our family looked like on his birthday last year
(please excuse the post labor "I need sleep" face)
Pirate Party!
Opening presents with Daddy!
He LOVED everyone singing to him! This was by far the highlight of his day. He could have cared less about the cake. (The video of this is so cute, I need to get it off Shawn's computer)
We tried 3 different times this year to get a picture of Ethan not screaming with Santa,
Attempt #1... fail!
The third time was not a charm. Oh well, maybe next year!

Christmas morning with Uncle Daniel
New Years Eve... last family pic of 2009 and this was the best we could do!
