Ranan started KINDERGARTEN!!!

How cute and tiny is he? He could not have been more ready for Kindergarten. It is only half-day, so we have to keep our day full of fun and interesting things to keep him busy and learning. He is loving his teacher, his classmates, and starting to read! They grow too fast!

Jada's first day(s) of 3rd Grade!

The Color Run - Cincy

What a fun day! Shortly after arriving to Ohio, a group of girl friends decided to run in the Color Run. It was in Cincy, about 30 min away. We got our "outfits" together. Crazy socks, made our tutu's, tied our hair into piggies, and a few of us wore pink sunglasses.

The race was a 5K and 9 of us did it together. There were only 4 "runners" though. We had a great time, got really colorful, went to breakfast, and headed home to SCRUB away! I was a little worried I would be teaching my Sunday Lesson looking like a Smurf, but it came out. Eventually.

MRE's for Dinner

For FHE one evening we decided to have MRE's for dinner and dessert. We thought our purpose was to teach gratitude for the food we have readily available, and show them what the soldiers and Daddy ate at COT. To our surprise, the kids LOVED them. They ate better with those meals than they do with mine! Lesson backfired:) That's okay. It was a super fun activity to cook and eat our dinner on the floor and all share off of each other.

Ayla was in her chair. Still in her jammies. She must have had a growth spurt in the night, bc she popped 3 wholes through for her toes. So cute.

Meet the Teacher

The week before school, we had Meet the Teacher. Ranan's teacher is Ms. Santiago, and Jada's teacher is Miss Martinez. They were excited to see their classrooms, drop off supplies, and meet the special person who will teach them for the next year!

Jaydon's Baptism in Lancaster, OH

We have one cousin that lives in Ohio. Drew's cousin, Tiana Tolliver. They live about 2 hours away in Lancaster, OH. When we caught word that her son Jaydon (only child of hers that we know) was being baptized, we knew we had to try and be there. What we didn't know until we headed out that morning, is that Mark and Brenda flew over there to be there as well. It was a nice baptism and a very fun reunion with family. Mark and Brenda treated us all to Texas Roadhouse after the baptism. So blessed to have an afternoon with family.

Taya's Makeover

Morgan (8), the neighbor girl, got ahold of Taya (3) to give her a makeover. Taya was thrilled about the results, Mom was a little scared!:)

Bus Beginnings- Ranan

Ranan is about ready to start Kindergarten here in Ohio! It is half day Kindergarten in the afternoon. In order to get ready for the first day of school, they have a program called Bus Beginnings. The parent and child meet and the school, listen to the rules, and ride the bus around town to get used to it. They practice getting on and off the bus so they will feel comfortable with the bus drivers and their rules to and from school. I took my little neighbor boy with me as well, since his Mom watches other kids during the day and couldn't go. It was cute and the boys were very excited to ride on the "Big Kid Bus."

Ayla has a little friend that is 3 weeks younger than she is that is babysat by Fawn next door. Her name is Audrey. Fawn had to meet the teacher for Sawyers school, so we had a little (BIG) playdate. I had her other children she watches too. It was a fun 30 min:)

Pretty in Pink

I meant to dress the girls in their matchy matchy pink dresses today for church. What I didn't mean to do was dress like them. Drew noticed as we were heading out the door that we all matched. I straightened Taya's hair for church. This is only the 2nd time she has wanted it done. She is a cutie pie either way, but we missed her curls for the day.

Random happenings

A few random happenings. The girls helping me get ready for date night, my girlfriends get together to watch the Bachelorette, a huge rain storm the kids played in for hours, Harry Potter Jelly Bean tasting fun, and reading with mommy. Just a few things in our last few weeks.
