We are having another.....

BOY!!! We are SUPER excited! They all said everything looks great with him right now so we were delighted to hear that. Poor little Makenna will be surrounded by three boys. She will really have to toughen up. I'm sure she will love having her own room and being completely spoiled. Right now we are thinking we will name him Ryker Joseph Fawcett. Everyone is doing well here. I have been really busy canning lately. I have learned all kinds of things this summer and it's SO much fun! I had no idea how time consuming it is though....but at least I can reap the fruits of my labors all winter. :) Anyway, love you all and hope you are all doing great too! :)

A Life Full of Blessings!

Wow! Finally a post! I actually typed this whole thing and then I lost it! Oh well, did you all think I was lost?? I finally finished school and the last few months I have been just busy having SO much fun! I finished school the first part of July. I finally have my Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology! Woo hoo! It has been a long hard journey but I have finally made it with the help of SO many people. I would post all the people who have helped me finish school but this blog post would be so long that nobody would even read it. Although I would like to thank my parents for coming out to watch the kids in June so that I could finish school. I could never repay you! The kids loved you and you were a life saver. And for Reed, for always being my rock even when I didn't deserve it. (I get pretty crabby when I am stressed). I love you!

Sorry for so many pictures. We have been doing so many fun things. We have been to the dinosaur museum with Rachelle, Angie, and Allison, and their kids, we have also been to the zoo, the water park a few times, parks, family reunions, parties, parades, and just hanging out with family and friends. We have had such a fun summer so far! The kids are all doing great. Spencer should only have to have his helmet a few more weeks, we hope! Carter and Makenna have just been growing and talking like crazy! They are all doing great! For those of you who haven't heard, now that I am done with school I have quit my job with the school district. My plan for now is to take a year off and then go back. It is a bitter/sweet thing. I couldn't be happier in my chosen career, but right now I know I need to stay home with my babies. I truly will miss work, but I have an even greater adventure here at home. To be honest, It takes some adjustment, but I am LOVING being with these children! I laugh everyday. They bring SO much joy! I just feel overcome with so many blessings!

For those of you who took the time to watch my whole slide show, you found out something new. I am pregnant again!! The last few years I have been trying SO hard to keep from getting pregnant and just get pregnant anyway. When I first found out about the baby I was extremely overwhelmed and didn't see how I would ever be able to accomplish this. However, I have since completed school and a great stress has been lifted. I know some of you may seem shocked, but I truly am SO excited for this new little baby! My three children bring me SO much joy, and if I can have more joy in my life....I want that! There is nothing more rewarding than being a mother! This baby is due the first part of January. For those of you who are doing the math... Carter will be 3 1/2, Makenna will be just barely 2, and Spencer will have just had his first birthday when this baby is born. It will probably be crazy here at the Fawcett home, but I couldn't be happier. ;) I had an ultrasound about 2 months ago and they thought it was a boy but I will have another ultrasound in about 2 weeks so watch for that post. We are just hoping for a healthy baby!

Well, I just wanted to fill you guys in. We love you all and think of you often! Sorry I'm not the best at keeping in touch with people. I do try, but my kids keep me busy. :) I just feel SO blessed and I want to scream it to the world! Some people often tell me, "Sharalyn, how do you do it? You have SO much going on, are you hanging in there?" Honestly, right now I just feel so blessed. Yes, it is busy and I usually don't ever sit down in a day, but I couldn't be happier! I have a house, a master's degree, a loving husband, three beautiful children and another one on the way! I couldn't be happier and I wouldn't have it any other way!!!! We love you all.

Our Easter

We had a fun Easter with everyone being well. It was great. The kids loved decorating Easter eggs and they have enjoyed eating them as well. We got a set with stickers and they both thought that was almost as cool as the dye. Easter morning we gave the kids their Easter baskets. Along with candy and goodies, Carter got a new white shirt and tie as well as a dart gun. Makenna got a new barbie and they both got books. Spencer only got one ring toy and Gerber puffs (he didn't really care anyway). The kids loved having a sugar day. Later that afternoon we went to Grandma and Grandpa Fawcett's house for lunch and an Easter Egg hunt. Both Carter and Makenna loved that! It was pretty cold so Spencer had to stay inside. :) Thanks Grandma and Grandpa! It was an exciting day. Yesterday was our first day back to church after everyone being sick and the kids all had new outfits to wear. The picture of them on the couch is adorable, isn't it!? I love all my kids. They are the greatest blessing in my life and I am privileged to be their mother. Hope you all had a great Easter too!

An update on the kids..

Hey everyone! Here's a quick update for those of you who are keeping track. I took Makenna and Spencer to the doctor this past Tuesday to see how they were doing. Makenna's lungs sounded clear. YEAH! So, they gave her shots. (She has needed them this past month but has been too sick to get them). Spencer still sounded pretty yucky. The doctor ordered us some oxygen to use at nights to see if that helped him to sleep. He's sleeping pretty good now though. Still sounds a little congested, but hopefully another day or two and he will be fine. I have to take him to the doctor again sometime towards the end of this week so he can get his two month shots. Carter is doing good too. Yesterday we cleaned our whole house top to bottom and I scrubbed every single toy one by one. It was quite the job. Deb (Reed's mom) came over to watch the kids so Reed and I could both clean and it still took all day! -thanks Deb!

I also have an appointment with Spencer for a craniofacial surgeon down at Primary Children's Hospital on March 31st. We are going to talk to him about what surgeries Spencer needs to receive and when the process would all start. I am actually looking forward to it. I think it will be very informative. Anyway, love you all!

A trip to the hospital....

This is a picture of Makenna in her "cage". We had quite the adventure a week and a half ago. Makenna was really sick on Monday and Tuesday and just wasn't getting better. She was very tired and had a nasty cough and was having trouble breathing. On Wednesday, February 24th I took her to the doctor. She sounded yucky and they said she had bronchialitis mostly likely caused by RSV. They also did a chest X-ray because one side of her lungs sounded worse then the other one. Sure enough, she had pneumonia as well. Her oxygen was really low and they said we needed to get her to the hospital to put her on oxygen and give her antibiotics through an IV. Also, she was really dehydrated too and she needed fluid.....

Here is Makenna with her IV, her oxygen, and her oxometer (I think that's how you spell it). Her fever was at 103 almost the whole time in the hospital. She kept getting worse before she got better and it was a horrible experience. I stayed with Makenna almost the whole time and Reed stayed with the two boys at home. We didn't want them to come to the hospital and get sick too. There was one night that we switched because we both needed a break. We ended up staying in the hospital until Sunday, February 28th. Her final diagnosis was RSV with a secondary pneumonia. Lucky girl...but it gets even more exciting....

This is the room at the hospital. Pretty small for what you pay. :) After Makenna came home, Carter got really sick this past Monday and we took him to the doctor on Tuesday. Sure enough, RSV as well. Breathing treatments have really helped him though, so no hospital visit there. Yesterday Spencer started getting really yucky sounding and we took him to the doctor this morning...RSV as well. So far Spencer is well enough to do suctioning and breathing treatments at home and doesn't have to go to the hospital right now. We just have to watch him close, but Reed and I are getting really good at taking care of RSV kiddos. With Spencer they gave us an oxometer so we can measure his oxygen at home. So...now we have our own RSV clinic. :) I just have to smile because it's easier than crying. We are exhausted! Anyway, just thought I would let you all know the excitement of our last two weeks. I used two bottles of lysol spray these last two weeks and my hands are bleeding from washing them so much, but still somehow, all of them got sick. :(

Spencer's baby blessing!

Spencer was blessed at our church on Superbowl Sunday. He did very well and was even quiet during the WHOLE blessing! We even put gel in his hair! ;) After church we had our family over for sandwiches. Thank you for those who came and for all of your love and support. We took some pictures of the other kids as well and it made us realize how hard it is to get a picture with all of them looking and smiling! Oh well, we still think they are adorable! I also put other pictures on here that I thought were cute. We are SO grateful for the new little boy in our family. Reed and I are so blessed to have three adorable, beautiful children. We have NO idea how we were chosen to have so many great blessings.

Funny Two Year Old

Hey everyone. I wanted to share a quick little story. Yesterday I was trying desperately to get some dishes done that were overdue. :) However, it was very difficult to accomplish this task with Carter and Makenna hanging on my leg and pulling dishes OUT of the dishwasher. Reed noticed and asked them to come downstairs and play with him. Carter turned to Reed and said, "Dad, you can't MAKE me go downstairs!" I have to smile and realize...my son is DEFINITELY two! :)

An update on Spencer: He still is not nursing from me, but we are working on using a nipple shield right now. Hopefully that works out. We had his hearing screening at the hospital done and he failed on the right ear again. They then referred us to an audiologist down in Salt Lake City where we did additional testing. Spencer has a mild hearing loss in his right ear and normal hearing in his left ear. However, the audiologist believes it is just due to fluid and will resolve itself over time. If not, we have to see an ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor) to have a tube put in his right ear. They are going to retest his hearing in 4 more weeks to see if there has been any change.
More info: I haven't told too many people, but the doctors believe Spencer has a syndrome called Goldenhar Syndrome. However, from what I have researched it looks like he has a very mild case. Basically the right side of Spencer's face is underdeveloped and slightly smaller than on the left side. His ear is also smaller and you can tell his jaw and maxilla is smaller too when you feel it but isn't noticeable by looking. Unilateral hearing loss is characteristic of the syndrome as well as kidney and spine problems. However, we are hopeful and we have been to Primary Children's Hospital to look at his kidneys and spine. All looks well there so we are happy. We have received a lot of great news through the first month of his life. He is such a beautiful, happy little boy. It is great to have a wonderful baby. Only time will tell on the syndrome. He has not received a diagnosis right now. We love you all and miss you!
