Babysitters Inc Skipper Rebody

I purchased a Skipper Babysitters Inc doll a few months ago. I wasn't in any hurry to remove her from her packaging.

That changed when I saw this Blythe Black Skin Tone body. I purchased this doll hoping that I would have dolls in my collection that would match. Skipper is a close enough match. I wasted no time removing Skipper from her packaging and rebodying her.

Some time ago, I did a review of the Blythe body. This is the same body, but Skipper's is a darker skin tone.

Her is a closer look at Skipper. She has a cute youthful face, and I like her curly hair.

The Blythe body is shorter than the original Skipper body. But Skipper is thrilled with her newfound mobility.

Skipper's original outfit fits well. However, the Blythe body's feet are slightly larger.

Skipper's boots will just barely go onto the Blythe body's feet.

From the back, you can see that Skipper's boots do not close completely. I'm not too concerned about that. Skipper can stand on her own in these boots.

Skipper needed this added articulation in order to perform her babysitting duties to the best of her abilities. There are a lot of babies and toddlers here, so she will be busy. Below, she is pictured with her friend Barbie Crazy for Coral Petite Fashionistas doll, which has also been rebodied on a Blythe body. Skipper just will not put down her phone, just like some other teens that I know.

Here are the Blythe Bodied dolls compared to some of the other teen and tween dolls in my collection.

Skipper looks good in a seated position.

Here, my new Skipper is pictured with my original Skipper (Homecoming Queen). My original Skipper is demanding that I change the name of this new Skipper. Hmmmmm, I'll have to ponder that one.

Skipper's box had a few other items besides the doll and her phone. There were cardboard cutouts of a To Do List, a delicious looking drink, and a toy xylophone. There was also a plastic sippy cup.

This Skipper is cute, and I like her even more with her articulated body. Ideally, I would have liked for her to be the same height as the original Skipper. Perhaps Mattel will release some articulated Skippers in the future (wishful thinking on my part, but I am hopeful). I like Skipper's outfit and her boots, and I like her phone and the sippy cup. I don't care about the cardboard cutouts. Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase.

Calista's Diary Entry - Snow Day

Dear Diary,

There was a bad winter storm here, so school was closed today.  Yay!  I spent time hanging out with friends from school.

Kana and Briana Joy tried to make a snowman, but the snow wouldn't pack very well.  Their snowman looked pretty sad.

Dominique threw ill-formed snowballs at people.  Skipper was not amused.  Eventually, we all ganged up on her and threw snowballs that mostly fell apart before they hit her.

There was a layer of ice under the snow, so we had to be very careful when walking around.  Kiara nearly slipped and fell.  That would've been embarrassing for her (but funny for us).

The best part was that I got to spend time with Bob.  We spent some time just walking and looking around.  Everything was really beautiful with the layer of snow.

We made snow angels.  :)

Today was a really great day.  Don't get me wrong, I like school, but I have to say that getting an unexpected day off was great.

Calista's Diary Entry - Halloween Carnival

Dear Diary,

Tonight I went to a Halloween carnival with my friends Kana, Briana Joy, and Big Janet and I had a lot of fun!

There were indoor activities, and they also had a few rides and games outside.  Others from my school were there.  Bob was there.  :)

Skipper was there with her boyfriend Kevin.

Jenna and Kiara were there together.  Jenna was dressed as a witch.  I overheard a girl saying "How fitting" and another girl said "Which witch is which?".

There was a lot of good food there.  They had some humongous pecan pies that were so delicious!

I spent a lot of time hanging out with Bob.  We went on a hayride.

We also rode on a big monstrous duck.

Some of the things were kind of creepy, but not really scary.

One thing that was rather frightening was a huge jack-in-the-box.

And there was a huge hairy spider.  Even though I knew it was fake, I didn't want it to touch me.  It gave me the shivers!

There was also a big snake that kind of made me feel uneasy.

There was just so much there to see!

And so much there to do!

Eventually we went outside and I did not see Bob much after that.  I didn't know where he went.  Dylan came over and asked Big Janet if she wanted to ride through the Haunted House with him and she said "yes".  Well they came out with big smiles and holding hands!  I can't wait to talk to Big Janet to find out what happened!

A while later, I saw Bob.  He was playing a game, trying to win a prize.  I felt a little disappointed that he was not spending time with me riding some of the rides.

Just when we were about to leave, Bob came over to me with a huge Teddy bear, and he gave it to me!  I was shocked!  I almost couldn't get my words out.  I said "What...  Oh my....  How did you....  How long did it take you to win this?"  He told me that it wasn't a problem and handed the bear to me.  I didn't know what to say other than "thank you!"

I hugged my bear in the car all the way home.  :)))))))

Calista's Diary Entry - Growth Spurt

Dear Diary,

My clothes are tight, my shoes are too small, and people always comment about how much I've grown.  They say that I've hit a growth spurt.  I look different on the outside, but I feel the same on the inside.

I'm about the same height as Skipper now. She hasn't changed much.

Some of Skipper's friends have changed a lot though.  The twins Hadley and Isla, and her friend Taylor have all gotten so tall!

Kana and Briana Joy haven't changed much.  Kana's hair isn't purple anymore - that's the biggest change with her.

I'm a little bit taller than Bob now.  I wonder if he's noticed?  I wonder if it matters to him?  It doesn't really matter to me.  Maybe he'll hit a growth spurt of his own pretty soon.

Maybe I'm just imagining things, but I could've sworn that Kiara used to be taller.  Maybe she just seems short to me now because I'm taller?  I don't know.  She's been hanging out with the new girl Jenna a lot.  I don't know Jenna well, but she seems okay.  I heard someone say that she is cute until she opens her mouth.  I don't know what they mean by that.

Mikey has not changed a bit.  He is just as obnoxious as ever!  His nickname for me now is Medusa.  I guess he's trying to be funny about the twists that I wear in my hair.  Layla has always worn twists, so why doesn't he call her Medusa?  He was calling me Bigfoot Knight for a while.  I don't know which name I hate worse.  I keep ignoring him and hoping that he'll eventually just leave me alone.

I guess that a lot of things are changing, but a lot of things have remained the same.  I'm just glad to have my family and my friends.  I feel that with their support, I can face any changes that come my way.

Calista's Diary Entry: Easter Blessings

Dear Diary,

Today is Easter and it was a great day.  Well, I think that I'm too old for Easter baskets now.

I still like wearing Easter bonnets, though.

And it's fun seeing the boys all dressed up.

There was one boy in particular who looked especially handsome today.

Check out this video.  Most of it is from the Easter Parade 3 years ago, but there are some shots of me and my friends from today.  Happy Easter Everyone!

Calista's Diary Entry - Awkward Moments

Dear Diary,

Today we had a substitute teacher. We were supposed to review Chapter 7 but Mikey told the substitute that Mr. Smith always lets us read on our own and talk about the chapter amongst ourselves on review day (which is not true). The substitute believed Mikey, so we basically talked and played around all during class. Mikey misbehaved a little.

Kana and Briana Joy have been telling me that I need to ask Bob to the dance. They say maybe he's too shy to ask me. I don't know, he wasn't too shy to write me that note a while back. They say I need to go ahead and ask because the dance is a week from Friday! I didn't want to ask him; I felt that he should be the one to ask me. Kana kept leaning back and whispering "Ask him! Ask him!" So I decided to just drop a few hints to Bob. I said "Sooooooo, the big Homecoming Dance is next week..." and he said "Yep." I said "You know, girls have a lot to do to prepare for a dance like this, so they really need to make plans in advance..." and he said "I imagine so." And he turned around and started reading his book. I don't understand him!

I saw Mikey coming my way and I had this feeling of dread because I just knew that he was coming to crack jokes about me. I was surprised when he stopped at Layla's desk and ignored me completely. He said "What's up Looooooooong Legged Layla!" Layla giggled and said "Mikey why do you always have to comment on my legs every time you see me?" Mikey said "I don't know. I guess because your legs are the first thing that I notice about you. And I notice because I like your legs." Then Layla let out this high pitched giggle and I felt my stomach turn. I was so ready for class to be over.

I saw Skipper in the hallway and I tried to go the other way but she started calling my name. She told me that we need to talk and asked me why I have been avoiding her. I told her that I wasn't doing it on purpose and she said "Come on! You don't even reply to the text messages that I send to you!" I tried to think of what to say. She said "Calista I thought that we were friends!" I said "I thought so too!" and she said "Well this isn't a very nice way to treat a friend!" So I told her "Okay, let's talk, but not now. We can talk for as long as we need to. I promise!" She said "Okay." As she was walking away, I told her "By the way, I've been meaning to tell you congratulations on being nominated as Homecoming Queen." She said "Thanks." and kept walking.
