Here are some videos from the past month. Isabel LOVES her toy piano, our little budding Mozart. She is also getting close to crawling, she just can't figure out how to move her arms and usually ends up crying in a face plant. I was on the phone when I caught her pre-crawling, which is why my commentary sounds strange. :)

All's well that end's well
We are home, out of the hospital, and everyone is feeling fine. It was a little bit frustrating, but it all turned out fine. After keeping Matt waiting until 3 p.m. on Fri. for the colonoscopy (so yes, he hadn't eaten anything since 10 p.m. Wed. night!) it all came back normal. So that's a huge relief, but it makes the rest of the story that much frustrating...Matt had a hard time waking up after the drugs they gave him (when I say "hard" I mean, impossible...we were all shouting, chest thumping, etc.). To help him, they gave him another drug to counteract the other drugs and he finally woke up around 5:30 p.m. They told us that if he stayed awake, was alert, ate fod and didn't have any negative affects, he should be ready to go home that night. FALSE! Despite meeting all of those requisites, the nurse told us at 9:30 p.m. that they wanted to keep him overnight for observation to make sure the drugs didn't affect him too much. Finally we bust Matt out of the join around 7:45 the next morning. Just in time to make it to our all day Ultimate Frisbee tournament (we both played, our record was 2-2). :)
Now this whole scenario wouldn't have been so bad, except for one minor detail...I was sick with a fever of 102.5. I started feeling really sick Thurs. night, but just attributed it to sleep deprivation. Unfortunately, Fri. morning I only felt worse...raging headache, achiness, no energy, etc. I tried to find a sub for my step aerobics class, but I couldn't. In the words of the gym manager "The show must go on. Sorry!" Yep, I had to teach aerobics running a fever. Not that much fun, if you want to know the truth. Then I make it over to the hospital, having to park about a mile away, and fortunately Matt was a perfect gentleman and took care of Isabel and let me rest in his hospital bed. :) I would have gone home earlier in the evening, but we kept assuming Matt would be coming with me and I just kept waiting. The nurse knew by 8:45 p.m. that they were keeping him overnight, but didn't bother to let us know until after we had called her into our room at 9:30 p.m. for an update. So then I had to walk the mile back to the car, alone, with Isabel, on no food (I didn't get dinner in the hospital) at 9:45 at night. Sigh.
I can tell you all this now because it all turned out well in the end. :) I guess I'd rather have the doctors be overly concerned than miss something important, but it still was a frustrating experience. But we both felt GREAT Saturday morning and played awesome in the tournament, so hooray! Thanks everyone for your help throughout!!!!!

We are WAY too familiar with the ER...
In the last 6 months alone we have visited the ER 4 times. 1) For me, giving birth. 2 & 3) Isabel getting sick, 4) Matt's turn to be sick. Matt's awaiting a colonoscopy to determine why he has some scar tissue in his lower colon, which I guess is sometimes an indicator of Crohn's disease. He started having some pain around 10 p.m. Wed. night. We went to bed around 11:30 p.m., but he woke up with severe abdominal pain a 1 a.m. He tried everything to make it go away, but finally got me up at 5:30 a.m. to go into the ER. They weren't sure what he had, but he at least got some morphine for the pain (he was rating it at a 9...which is what I rated my pain during labor, so he was in a LOT of pain...) They admitted him into the hospital after the CT scan showed the scarring in his colon so that they can do some more work-up on him. Of course he felt just fine that afternoon, just sleep deprived and hungry, but he was already admitted and so they are going to do the colonoscopy today and then he should be able to come home and get on with life. Anyway, we'll let you know of any updates and what they find.

BFFs, already?!
Isabel and Elizabeth Lever are already BFFs (Best Friends Forever, for those of the older, un-hip generation...). They have been asked if they are twins (nope, 3 months apart...with Isabel actually being older, despite her size), have gone to the lake together and have taken a road trip to Chicago together. Sigh, they grow up so fast! But on the flipside, they just had their first fight. I'm not sure, I wasn't watching closely, but it appears that Isabel became possessive of the toy and kicked Elizabeth in the face "unintentionally" to get it back. Okay, maybe it didn't happen exactly like that...maybe I just placed them too close together and Isabel's flailing limbs got in the way of poor Elizabeth's cute face, but it was a fun story, right? Last thing, never did we purposefully position their hands...they just like to hold each other's hands!

All things new and improved
We've been making some "big" changes around our house. In order of importance: first of all, we are sometimes combing Isabel's hair over to the side (I was hesitant at first because I thought she looked like a balding banker, but it's starting to grow on me). Otherwise her hair goes into a mohawk or just poofy on top. :)
Secondly, I finished making Isabel's curtains today. Matt stayed searching through the drapery remnants after I gave up and started checking all the other fabrics in the store, and then he found the PERFECT material!!!!! Unfortunately, it wasn't enough. So we both went back to the remnant table (and if you've ever searched remnants, you know what I was up against...the odds of finding more were not with us...) and once again, after I gave up, Matt resurfaced with a swath more than big enough. YAY! So, we are one step closer to finally getting our home finished.
Lastly, I had my hair cut. Not much to say about this, except that I had been complaining about my hair for months now, and Matt got sick of it and told me to just cut it off. So, I did. :)

One of these days we will get a fancy blog slideshow
1-Cute 2-Yellowstone Hike 3-Cute 4-Lake Nagawaukee (Wisconsin) Funny story about this Lake. I am wearing a dark brown swimming suit (obviously, this is Chelsea...) and a little girl (about 8 years old) came up to me and started touching my stomach and grabbing the suit and asking if it was my swimming suit. I was a little surprised by the question, but let her know that it was. It wasn't until an hour later when I was re-telling this story to Matt that I realized my swimsuit was the exact same color as this girl's skin...she was so confused that I could be black on my tummy and white on my face, until she figured out it was just a swimsuit!
