For Real!?!

There are those days that you wait for the moment that you will look back and laugh. Well, yesterday was one of those days. I blog this in hopes that i will find humor in these moments.

The day started out just fine. Macade woke up at 7am and we started our day. Then we started to clean the house. From 8am to 12:30 i cleaned the house just like every monday. Then came lunch and nap. Finally settling down for a nap at 1pm and me following soon after, the day seemed just like anyother. Well, being 8 months pregnant cleaning makes my back hurt and me extra tired. So when i wake up to Macade crying an hour into his nap i was not too happy. But i go in there to check on him and he had thrown up all over himself and his bed. So i strip the sheets and put new ones on and clean him and change his clothes and tuck him back in for him to finish his nap. After throwing the stuff in the laundry i try to settle back down just to be woken again in 20 minutes. He trudges into my room and looks at me and throws up all over my bed and floor. I try to run him to the bathroom but of course he finishes his business all on my family room floor before i make it to our destination. Gross. So i strip him again and clean him and scrub my puke smelling floor.
After taking my comforter off and putting it in the laundry and settle Macade down on my bed and put in a movie and give him a sippy with some 7up to help settle his tummy I run to take a quick shower so i smell like a woman and not a victim of a childs vomit! 2 minutes later i get out and head into the room just to find that Macade had spilled his sippy of 7up all over my Down Comforter. Great. So while in my towel that does not quite cover me because of my prego belly i strip the duvet off and throw it in the laundry and change his clothes for the 3rd time just to come back to him throwing up all the 7up on my bedroom floor. You have got to be kidding. This is all in an hour time mind you. So i strip him yet again and scrub my floor and get me some clothes so i can stop trying to keep my towel up and finally settle him down. About 20 minutes later he askes for some water, hesitant since everything he puts down comes back up i gave him a little bit of water. Much to my not surprise, 20 minutes later he threw that one up too, at least on my kitchen floor.

So in an hour and a half time my child managed to throw up 4 times, get changed 5 times and make me wash about as many loads of laundry as i normally do 2 weeks. Yes it was an eventful day. When Cory came home he was feeling fine and dandy and my wonderful husband took him on a few errands and let me soak in the tub and just have an hour to myself. I hope that i can laugh at this day. It was very long and seemed as though it would never end and the morning came way too fast. Hopefully this day will be less eventful and more relaxing!

Potty Training...CHECK!

I have a huge list of things to do before the baby comes and seems i don't have enough time to do it all. Potty training was one that HAD to be checked off before the little one arrives! It was about a 6 day process from day one and Macade is able to potty on his own. 3 days he has gone with no accidents. He can tell us he needs to go and other times he needs to be prompted. But when prompted he does not resist and always goes. We are still working on the BM's but the initial training is complete. it was one of my goals and now i will not have to diaper two kids! That is a HUGE bonus! Way to go me!

Day 4, 5 and 6 count:

# of wet accidents: 0!!!!!
# of BM accidents: 2

Macade Potty Training--Day #3

Ok, so progress is being made...with everything i think. Macade is starting to gain control and is able to stop himself and hold his accidents. It is really going great. I must give him great props. It could be so much worse.

The count today:

Wet accidents: 3
BM accidents: 1
# of times he WENT on the potty: 5
# of times he SAT on the potty: 12
Macade breakdowns: 1 (When he had to clean his underwear that he pooped in. He hates it, but its how he will learn i believe!!)
Mom breakdowns: 0!!! (And thats without Cory home!)

Overall a great day. He even went once while we were out and about and stopped at a restaurant just to use the restroom. He sat on it and went!! WOOHOO! now that is accomplishment!!!!!!!

Macade Potty Training--Day #2

Ok, so day 2 of the potty training business. Really? It is hard work. I will be glad when its over...whenever that will be! But i must say that Macade is really smart and is an easy candidate for this, considering he is only 25 months!

Todays count:

Wet Accidents: 4 (one was at a friends house while on a quick errand...understandable for a newbee)
Poop Accidents: 1
# of times he WENT on the potty: 5 (with one poop!!)
# of times he SAT on the potty: 15
Macade breakdowns: 0
Mom Breakdowns: 2

This by itself should be called a full time job. With the laundry, and the cleaning, and the patience there seems to be no end. A breakdown is bound to happen. You would think it was the little boy crying in his room considering with accidents he has to clean it up, underwear and all. But nope, nope, not in my house...its the mom. Unless its a poopy underwear he has to clean, he hates that! Stressful business potty training is, but it will be worth it and i promise i am going to stick it out!!! So Far So Good!

Macade Potty Training--Day 1

Ok so about a week ago Cory and I decided it was time to start potty training Macade. He is a bright and intellegent little boy and likes to sit on the potty. It has been hard for me because those of you who know me i like to see immediate results. if i don't see them i get very frustrated and tend to give up. Well with lots of prayers, counting, and breathing i have made it through day number one. And i must say it was a pretty successful day.

Here is the Count:

Wet Accidents: 3!!!
Poop Accidents: 1
# of times He went in the Potty: 3
# of times he sat on the potty: 16

And this included a trip to the store with no accidents and a potty sitting time. YEAH!!

White Christmas

I never thought i would see a white christmas like this one when i left idaho. Yesterday we got about 3" or 4" of snow and everything was white. It is fun...well sort of. Because it is not a regular thing here no one knows how to drive in it. A 5 minute drive took me 25 minutes yesterday. Stupid Drivers!!! But other than that we love looking out our window and seeing white. And Macade loves playing in it!

Snow Day!

Well the temp has dropped here in Lakewood drastically. With the wind, snow and cold i feel i am back in Rexburg:) It does not get over 30 degrees and the snow just keeps coming. This was the first time Macade was introduced to snow. He loves it. We woke up from our nap on Sunday to our yard covered in snow and it still falling. So i bundled the little guy up and let him have yet another adventure. Cold? Yes, but well worth it!

Macade all bundled up!
Just having fun!!

All I Want for Christmas....

This is the first year we are actually explaining Santa and Macade is picking it up fast. I explained that Santa brings presents to kids who are good and make their mom and dad happy. After explaining this he turns to me and says, "Mama, Santa bring Macade train?" So now when he gets praise for doing something good he says, "Santa present, Santa bring Macade train!" It is so cute.
At the ward party he was so excited to sit on Santa's lap. (the picture does not show the excitment) He ran up to him and jumped on his lap and said, "Santa, Macade want train!" So of course, "Santa" has bought him a train and i can not wait to see him open it!!!

Train 'em Young

Cory always jokes about teaching Macade how to do his chores so that he can pawn them off on him. He is like a big brother who tries to makes the not fun stuff sound fun so he can get the little ones to do it! Our deal is whoever cooks, the other does the dishes. Here is what i walked in on when it was Cory's night to do dishes. Too funny!!

Its The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!!

I love christmas. I love the spirit of it all, the lights and the decorations. I came home from California and put all my fall decor away and pulled out the christmas "stuff" as Macade calls it! Its true, its just a bunch of stuff but it makes the house so festive and we love it. We went and got our tree this year, just as we do every year and Macade helped me decorate it like he did last year. (Of course with my decorating OCD i had to fix some things he did:) I have the whole house decorated but only took pictures of the fireplace and tree! Macade makes sure that i turn the lights on tree every morning when we wake up. Love It! Merry Christmas everyone!

Thanksgiving

With Macade being two now Cory and I get charged a full priced plane ticket for him. Because of this it causes us to fly as often as we would like now having to buy 3 tickets at full price. So for Thanksgiving, because we could not afford to fly to Cali, we drove to Oregon, half way between my fam and us, and met up with the fam for an early thanksgiving. It was full of fun.
Ma and Pa singing up a little Karaoke
Macade and Aunt Kay enjoying some cake batter after Macade's wonderful baking skills

After a wonderful weekend Cory drove back home for work and I joined the fam on a drive down to California for a long week stay with them. It was time that i will cherish forever. Thanks to a wonderful mother who bought one way tickets for Macade and myself we were able to be with them all and make wonderful memories. Thanks again mom for that priceless time with you guys. I wish it happened more often!

2 Year Pics

So every year get some pics of my little guy. I always just do it myself because the studios charge an arm and a leg and I think Cory and I do a pretty good job of getting some great shots. So we headed down by the water and got some great ones. Here are just a few i wanted to share with you.

Best Man Ever

So i have complained to some of you how Cory is just not the romantic type. I get so frustrated because i know he has it in him, he has shown me, but does not do it often. Well last Friday i got my romantic hunny back and was so happy. I had had a really bad week with a lot of personal things that seemed to just go wrong. I was very unsocial and not myself and he saw that i was really unhappy and depressed. So he surprised me with this whole night including a babysiter for Macade!

He brought me home this (if you don't know its my favorite flower):

Bought this (And got me exactly what i like, which to me, is very romantic):

And drove me here:
So i got to look at this while sitting in the car (because if you can guess, it was raining) eating from one of my favorite places! If your curious, it turned my whole week around! He is the best, i am so in love with him for obvious reasons!

Manly Duties

Here is Cory doing his manly job. Our landlord has been really sick in and out of the hospital so Cory offered to do the yard work for him. What a great guy, like he does not have enough on his plate he offers to take on more. I love you hunny, you are a great example of service and love!!
Here he refusing to look or smile at the camera...He knows me too well. he knew it would go straight to the blog:)

Just Darn Cute

I just had to take a picture of this cutie in his sunday outfit and show him off. He is one goodlooking kid!!

Macade 2nd Birthday

On November 1st Macade turned the big 2. We invited some of his friends over and did cupcakes (I know i said i was going to do a cake but after the first i was in the mood for another) and presents. They all played and had so much fun. When we sang happy birthday to him he had the biggest smile on his face. And then he blew out his own candle...priceless.

Kaylinn made us this birthday quilt last year for his birthday. So when he woke up this is what he found hanging over the couch. What a way to start his special day!
