Jason surprised me on our anniversary with a new sewing machine that I've been wanting. I am so excited to start using it. Just though I might share with you how awesome my husband is.

Over Budget

It's getting harder to stretch your dollar. This is going to be a hard year for a lot of people to give gifts. I'm trying to make alot of my gifts this year. But even then I think it all adds up in the end and you come out about even. Anyone one have idea's on how to get the bang for your buck?

Hillside Soup

Ok so I'm not huge on drinking soup from a can.. its a bit strange for me. But I found these caned soups at wallyworld the other day. I got the Classic Chicken. The taste is OK.. not the greatest. So why am I blogging about it??? Well they self heat. You press a button on the bottom of the can and walla you have hot soup. It would be a great thing to have in the car, or in your 72 hour kits.. No Microwave needed. They have a hot chocolate too.. I didn't see it but I'm going to look for it next time I go shopping.

Sums Up My Week

Yeah, I feel great this week. Accomplished (I even spelled that right the first time :)) It's the first day of Mids however... and I get grumpy on mids for some reason. Anyone else get grumpy on mids?? Oh well for now I feel Wonderful!

What Princess Are You?

I think I'm a Bell. I love to read and fall for the 'rough around the edges' types, maybe not so furry though. Not to mention moving to a dark, cold place and trying to make it work. And sometimes I think my furniture talks to me.. but you don't have to tell anyone that.

OK so this week is not my favorite. I went to get my bangs trimmed on Saturday, they lady cut them really short. So now I have to bobby pin the back. gosh darn.

I got his mom's address I think I'm going to send her a note and tell her how cool her son is. He sure has been a great addition to our ward. He was one of the first missionaries that got to come to my house for dinner (no message). He will be missed.

Going where??

I woke up this morning to the wonderful sounds of people working on my street. It was 7am. At about 9.. all the sounds stopped. and so I got up and let my dogs out to potty, only too see that I was not able to even leave my drive way. And there was no one around so that I could have them move the backhoe. Oh Darn. I really have an excuse why I couldn't get my VT done today.

OUTLAW CIGARETTES

I can not tell you how disqusting it is to smell smoke. Even when someone in the car next to you is smoking .. and if they love smoking so much why not keep the windows closed???

Mids always makes me feel tired, like I've slept the week away. Glad there over!

Global Warming Issue

For some reason it has been unseasonably warm this year. Its the middle of October and I still have some windows open. 9pm and it's 60 :) ( Don't get me wrong this is not a complaint) If this keeps up I might not have to get out long-johns. Oh and I'm glad to be stuck in the 1970's! 2006 just looks painful!

The new George Washington $1.00 coin is the first money ever issued by the USA in modern history without the words "In God We Trust". I am certain George Washington would never have agreed to his picture on the coin if it any way diminished faith in God. Sad day :(

Made My Day

My Daughter was born 3 months premature on Aug 23 2001. She spend about 3 months in the hospital coming home when she only weighted 5lbs. But starting out life at only 2lbs she was huge. While she was in the hospital she had several little dolls or small items that I had gotten for her or other people gave her. If you look closely to the top picture you will see a small yellow duck. I loved that duck. For some reason that symbolized the hope I had that Boo would be strong and would make it home. And she did. On my 21st birthday my apt caught on fire and I lost that duck along with our home. A few months ago, I saw this exact duck at church. I was so excited I went up to the sister and asked her where she had gotten the duck and explained the story behind the importance. The following day I took a trip to this store only to find they had sold out. I had let the idea of getting a replacement slip my mind.

Today to my great surprise this sister came up too me with the duck. She had found another duck while she was visiting her family out west. I can not tell you how thankful I'm to her. I don't know this sister very well and for her to think of me brought tears to my eyes, and a great testomony of the love sisters share with-in the gospel.

Thank you Sister Merrell You made my day!

bus trip anyone??

A tour bus driver is driving with a bus load of seniors down a highway when he is tapped on his shoulder by a little old lady. She offers him a handful of peanuts, which he gratefully munches up.
After about 15 minutes, she taps him on his shoulder again and she hands him another handful of peanuts. She repeats this gesture about five more times.When she is about to hand him another batch again he asks the little old lady, 'Why don't you eat the peanuts yourself?'. 'We can't chew them because we've no teeth', she replied. The puzzled driver asks, 'Why do you buy them then?' The old lady replied,

'We just love the chocolate around them.'

Vermont

Sister Spg and I went to Vermont on Tuesday. What an awesome trip! She took me to 'New Skete' a monastery for the Eastern Orthodox Church. The fall colors are not as bright as they should be but it still was very pretty. I would recommend taking a day trip if only to see there chapels. The art on the walls and the wood work was beautiful. I hear that they also have outstanding cheesecake. I didn't get any though :) We also went to the Norman Rockwell museum in Arlington. Then we had lunch up in Manchester at a great little place. I didn't know this but Robert Todd Lincoln built a mansion called Hildene right outside Manchester. We didn't go in, I think I'm going to try and go there before I migrate west. Oh one other thing I forgot my camera so all these pics are from the Internet.

"Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning. Red sky at night, sailors delight."

What does it mean when the sun is red?? This morning, at about 6:45 the sun was coming up and it was so beautiful, and those who know me I'm sure your first question would be 'Stella up before 9??' Yeah, I had to take Jason to work, his truck wouldn't start. I just thought it was ironic that I saw this big beautiful red sun while on the 'navy' base. So far though my day is pretty good. So maybe for the sailors wife its good luck to see red in the morning.

My summer garden

I'm So happy that my garden turned out so well. Last year this whole space was covered with red rocks... and now flowers. Its nice to see the butterflies coming in. The biggest problem was the dogs walking on them.. but they seem to go around now.
