With all the warm and sunny weather we've been having, the plants, flowers and shrubs are really growing. I took a few photos of what was blooming this weekend.
This allium has grown up through the hosta and the blue green leaf of the hosta really shows off the purple in the allium.
Our new Fringe Tree in bloom.
The roses are blooming.
And so are the irises.
And the lilies. I took this pic right after we watered.

Pile it On #21 Eat Your Veggies
Happy Sunday! We've been enjoying another wonderful weekend and I've been spending a lot of time outside, its been very relaxing.....almost like vacation in our own backyard!
But I did scrapbook with some fun ladies on Friday night and created two cards for this week's Pile It On challenge, Eat Your Veggies! This theme had me stumped until I browsed for vintage images and found two vintage valentine images that I've used in the cards below.
First up is this fun card:
It incorporates the following challenges:
Pile It On - Veggies
Penny's Challenges - Fruit or veggie
Limelight - used the sketch and a soft velvet ribbon
Pixie Dust - used round buttons
And second is this cute card:
It uses these challenges:
Pile It On - Veggies
Penny's Challenges - Fruit or veggie
Pixie Dust - used round buttons and a round doilie
Pixie Cottage - tag and sketch
Stamp Something - ribbon, bow and tag
If you have a chance we'd love for you to play along at Pile It On!

Little Red Wagon Challenge # 30 - Birthday
Wow, Wednesday already! It helps that it is a short week having had the holiday Monday off!
This week at Little Red Wagon, Carolyn challenged us to create a birthday card.
So I dug into my Graphic 45 paper, along with a Heartwarming Vintage quotation and the sketch at Two Sketches 4 You to create this card;
Grab your wagon filled with scrapbooking goodies and please play along with us! We love to see what you create! And check out what the girlfriends created too!

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge - Pink Hi!!
Hi all! I'm back with another creation for this month's Papertrey bloghop. This month we are to use felt! I also took inspiration for my creation from the Shabby Tea Room and this photo:
And so, here it is:
I created white polka dots and a flower in white felt to accent the PTI blush cardstock. I added a layer of white vellum with PTI twine, silk ribbon and a button. The sentiment is stamped in PTI snow ink.
Overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and can't wait to see how everyone else has used the photo inspiration at The Shabby Tea Room and felt at Papertrey!
Victoria Day Weekend!
Good morning everyone! I hope you had a terrific weekend whatever you did!
We certainly enjoyed ours! We started it off on Saturday with a birthday celebration for Steve and Brittany.
Here's a couple of pics of the table set for the bbq lunch.

Then we had two cakes(thanks Grandma!)! Sherry and I lit the candles!
And carried the cakes in!
Here's Brittany with hers!
Willie took this pic, we all look like we are having a great time and I think we were!
Then on Sunday and Monday we relaxed on our patio in the hot, sunny weather!
We had dinners outside.

Celebrate
This week I decided to participate in this challenge at Embellish Magazine:
I thought about the colour suggestions for awhile and this simple design idea finally occurred to me:
Love the combo of kraft, black and I used PTI's ripe avocado ink and paper.

Some New Favourite Blogs - Simply Breakfast/Simply Photo
Continuing on with highlighting some blogs from my blog reading list, Simply Breakfast and Simply Photo are two blogs I've read almost since I started blogging. I love the rustic nature of the breakfast photos and its interesting to see what's for breakfast too! Simply Photo has awesome photos that I love looking at!
Here is a photo of a breakfast I had this weekend, photo inspired by Simply Breakfast:
I make myself a big batch of steel cut oats on Friday then eat it the rest of the weekend with a few raisins, a bit of brown sugar and milk!
Do you have a favourite breakfast?

Some New Favourite Blogs - My Sweet Savannah
I thought I'd share another blog that I read almost everyday and it continues along the home decorating theme, My Sweet Savannah. I love the shabby chic, vintage look to the rooms and items posted on this blog.
Here's a few photos from a recent post:
I'm really attracted to the use of white against the natural wood tones. I'm loving the chandeliers too!

Some New Favourite Blogs - House of Turquoise
I thought over the next few posts I'd share some of my newest favourite blogs that I read(or drool over) almost daily.
Today I bring you the House of Turquoise!
Here's just a couple of inspiring photos to be found on the House of Turquoise.
I love these billowing curtains!
And look as this laundry area!
I'm seriously thinking of redoing my house in shades of white with splashes of turquoise........or maybe I should start with a bathroom!

Little Red Wagon Challenge # 29 - Put a Window In It!
We are swiftly(maybe not swiftly enough) approaching the first long weekend of the summer, can't wait! But until it arrives why not play along with this week's Little Red Wagon challenge?
This week Joanne challenged us to put a window in it! So I decided to put a window in my window!
And I tried a new colour combo I've been seeing around, yellow and blush pink, I think I like it!
If you have time, please play along with us! We love to see what you create.
PS: A very happy birthday to my DH, Steve and my Aunt Donna!
