finding neverland and more

Hello. First, i would like to apologize for not updating this blog. the last time i posted was when again? no idea.

it's finally school hols! exams are over. the past 2 days have been great fun. we had our class chalet at nsrcc. =) erm, slightly out of the way but i think it's great. so peaceful and serene. the minute i arrived at the chalet, i tripped n fell... i am too clumsy for my own good. my poor toe cushioned the greatest impact. my skin tore and a bloody blister is what's seen on my toe now. the first night was a bbq of loads of food. we took shifts to make good food! food always tastes good when you're hungry. but not bad for a first try ok. my mom wouldn't let me stay over, so the 2nd day, nozhatie and i brought breakfast to them! =) damn, the night before i was stuck on reading the deathly hallows and ended up sleeping at 5am, woke up at 8am. 3 hours of sleep. i felt zombified. (i'll talk about harry potter later)

later part in the afternoon, we went to the club house supposedly to bowl, play pool and sing karaoke. in the end we ended up playing bowling only cos the karaoke thing was to scam our money and after the bowling game, we received our results via sms (can u think of a better way to spoil a day) i didn't bowl cos i couldn't exactly wear the bowling shoes could i.. some rp pple were bowling n cos they were pros, we felt kinda small... HAHA. so we took every attempt possible to cheer for ourselves. WOO!! anyway, dinner was supposed to be maggi. lots and lots of maggie. half busied themselves with bbqing what's left of the coal we had, the other half busied ourselves with cooking food using the microwave! an extremely useful invention. i was shocked to realised no one's eaten microwaved egg before... most of them didn't seem to even use a microwave before. lol. so for the night, auntie mx and i were microwaving everything! plates of ommelette with crab meat and sliced sausages, ohtah, the list goes on. jo was cooking the pot of maggi. she liked them soggy and i mean it. they turn out as fat as udong. initially, there was insuficient noodles so she cooked 5 more packets, supposedly for everyone to share, but it ended with weirong, minxue, jo n i eating all 5 packs. CRAZY. 5 packets of soaked fat noodles shared about 4 people who were pretty full from munching of food. i finished my bowl at least. YAY! then i left for home, not before taking 2 sticks of bbqed mushmallows! mmmm... 1 for peng who was nice enough to send me home. =)

oh ya! my results. i'm pretty content with it, my mom thinks otherwise, so does my sis cos they expected better. I PASSED FNB!!! JOY TO THE WORLD!!! no need to remember all the grape varieties, regions, appellations bla bla bla no more... (i think) anyways, i got 2Cs, 2Bs, 1A and 1Z.
Z not for fail but Z for distinction! yay. for macroecons. haha. how unexpected. hmmm... then i got an overall gpa of 3. aint that bad right???? not if ur in my family. =( oh well. i prefer to think i did alright. =) makes me feel better.

ok, now about harry potter. i've finally finished the whole series of books. took me about a month. i started reading the first book when deathly hallows was released. now i've finished reading the series. much thanks to auntie mx for all the books she loaned and thanks to shoe n her sis for the last book. =) i thought than ms j.k rowling ended the story beautifully. i know many christians deem the book as unsuitable for reading cos of the witchcraft and magic, but i think there are alot of morals and feelings within the book that are very much related to real life. bravery, wit, loyalty and ambition. then there's power, temptation, friendship and love. i liked lupin n dobby, and both ended dead. i liked fred n george too! one dead, the other 1-earless. oh well. all turns well.

moving on, today i watched finding neverland starring johnny depp and kate winslet. as well as the boy who acted as charlie from charlie and the chocolate factory. the movie took me for a tour around mr j.m barrie's imaginary world and imagination as a whole. it is amazing what u can see if u would just open your minds eye to everything and anything. maybe that's what neverland's about. about a place where there are no limits, a place ur mind can't grow old. anything is possible as long as u believe. i particularly liked this quote from peter pan "to die would be an awefully big adventure" =) i guess it would be, and it'll be an adventure we'll all have a chance to experience some day. till then, live life itself as a journey, a journey of stories.
