chew likes people who sing well, are smart and have long faces PERIOD. quek likes the perfect men. i like pretty n sweet boys. =) although we're so different in many aspects, we're also similar.

he's so sweet,nice n gentle. =) i just love it when he smiles.
his fans were screaming for him and he waved at them shyly and somewhat awkwardly. and guess what, we were this <--------------------------------------------------------------------------------> close to him.. haha. i feel super blessed. my friends were nuts la, chased him all the way. when he finally had to leave, we shouted "ahn yeong he kay seh yo (bye!)", he turned around and waved humbly. ahn yeong jeong hoon shi!

OH! we also took a picture with Hady! ryan, cheryl and sam were queueing to meet him at the airport. a huge crowd of his fans were lined up to see him. i mean of course la. super proud of him! OUR ASIAN IDOL!!! WOO. we maybe small but we're no small fry.

ok, now let me rewind back a little. alot has happened. =) it's my hols now. JOY! but it's project work in disguise. schemes of education. boo. super busy; occupied with christmas presents, presents, presents, more presents. lalala.

i'm sorry i'm very random.
my classmates n i went to orchard after our last mid sem test to watch the tattooist. i'm not really into horror flicks. they dragged me. anyway, it was a rainy day and some one took off his/her shoes in the cinema. imagine what happened next. EEWWWWW!!!
it was supposed to be a horror movie but ahjuma n i were sniggering the whole way through cos it stank as bad as rotton eggs mixed with mouldy toes nails.

JANG!!! orchard!!! i took tht shot. =) ah rong n i posing. we're cheapos who do not buy stuff but pose with stuff to take photos. i like this shot anyway.

This is the quek sisters and i! we were at ikea waiting for the shuttle bus. like i mentioned before, christmas shopping. there were some unglam moments. like when my pants had a hole at the side and i already left house to meet quek. i had to safety pin my pants up.

i realised tht most of my friends are crazy too. explains why i'm like tht.

This is supposed to be on the day of marketing project discussion. I was bored of writing on paper so i wrote on ah rong instead.
YAY! eating at ice cream chefs again! i think one of the staff there can recognize me already. i'm such a loyal consumer. this was after project meeting.

ah rong, papaya n i went to the park after eating ice cream. we talked and played for a few hours. it was a super fun night. =)

Seconday School Days

it's one of those lazy sunday mornings/afternoons again. I have consort praac later (i'm supposed to have memorised the carols) BOOOO. i've not exactly done tht yet. bah..
I'VE FINALLY FINISHED N SUBMITTED BY BCS ASSIGNMENT! JOY!

i was looking through my pics folder and i felt this sudden urge to blog about my sec sch days. i think all of us miss our sec sch days. i hear my poly friends talk about their sec sch days too. it's just the time of ur life when u, no matter how much of a misfit u are, feel like u've found belongingness. do u get what i mean?

OH THE HORROR. this was taken in prague! =) it was pretty cold, but we had a blast taking lame shots with the statue. our seniors actually took off their shirt out in the cold and got chased around by mr wee.

faith and i designed it! pretty? the shadows are real pple ok, from our choir. mostly tate and nigel cos they're of the same short height. were is the world.

Lameness in class. we used to have a CHEE column to suan our chem CHEEcher. got CHEEken rice, kimCHEE, CHEEkopeh and the list goes on. mr wee's got his tiny column too. =)

Squt's bday!!! fyi: squt = squirrel + nut. we gave her squirrel ears and a nut. =)

This was at the SYF display band finals. WOO. go TK BAND! we were so proud of them. this is marc. quote: he has the appetite of a horse, but a pocket of a churchmouse.

AFTER CLASS DUTY SESSION. we decided to play instead of clear up the classroom. lol. cos i irritated them with the hokkien 2 umberella song. u know. the 'we 2 pple, together hold the 1 umbrella. rain big big. i take care of u, u take care of me.' song.


This was quek's frivolous 15th bday. we obeyed her every wish tht day. she wanted to go to changi airport so we did. we were at swensens. wingyan, airmalee and quek are trying to bend the spoon. concentration.

I wanted to take a picture with shoe but she diao me. =( look at my sad face. shuning is a mean girl in disguise. ahah.

this is embarrassing. A FREAK BUBBLE INCIDENT. we bought bubble tea at parkway. i didn't wanna distort the pretty picture on the cover so i poked nearer to the edge of the cup. cos i tilted the cup when drinking, the milk tea leaked on me. =(

She finally speaks!

Hello my loyal faithful readers of this dusty blog. =) thank you for waiting patiently for ruhui to speak. NOW... she finally speaks!!! JOY TO THE WORLD!!!

let's see.. what happened so far.. alot. but let's cut things short. today was an extremely eventful day. =D

lets skip mkg tutorial. i kana suan by teacher cos i answered the qtn wrong. =S but after tht, i saw a guy who looked like ahn yong joon!!! =) one of my joons. haha. where oh where can my joonies be?>

the fun began during microecons lec! it was the projuice teacher again. HAHA. she can't say 'produce'. brie, papaya n i sat in the last row, nozhatie n amx were in front of us. what happens when u put us together during a sian lecture? CRAZY THINGS HAPPEN!

papaya was being mean for the day. (maybe cos she styled her hair. she had this q-moh, punk rocker look) she decided to TAG amx. lol. here, mr orange sticky tag comes in. papaya pasted a sticky tag saying 'GIRLY MAN¬¬' on amx cos amx folded her polo tee collar up (like a mu*aheem*dd)

GIRLY MAN is pronounced as GURLY MUUN. haha. go check out the u'tube video from bufflax. recently, our class is obsessed with hilarious videos. from the burping girl from america's got talent to dance videos to indian thriller? mx laughed so loud the pple from the lab beside ours were SHHHing her. ok, don't digress. back to today's topic.

anyway, mx kept sweeping the tag off her back. poor MOST (mr orange sticky tag) so papaya wrote a new tag saying 'SLASH ME!', but mx was too smart!!! (omg, i'm praising her.) sooo, we decided to be sneakier. we slipped the tag on the chair, n when she leaned back, the tag stuck to her back!

papaya was really hyper today. idiot. during bcs, she kept playing with my keyboard so i couldn't log in into my account. ANNOYING. haha. annoying papaya. then she tried to restart my com. which i fought with her for. i ended up on my butt, on the floor!! so malu. =S i've got battle wounds to prove it!!! (there's this diagonally linear bruises; 3 to be exact on the back of my left hand)

anyway, the day went on with me meeting my mommy n my peng for a shopping spree! woo!!!

we were shopping happily, i was browsing around when... GASP. my sister said 'u don't wanna see this.'

the unicorn reminded me of quek (look at tht quek expression), while the marshmellow blobs reminded me of chew! =)

at that moment, i felt as constipated as the unicorn on the shirt. anyway, i ran n hid behind the clothes rag (i think she didn't see me)

then crawled off, pretending nth happened and joined my sister on sitting on some free massaging chair thing. lol. it was supposed to help with my back muscles. anyway, i couldn't really walk properly after tht. i was slouching and i think i looked like a shrivelled prawn. o well.

i met tht lady once more before we left the store. she was coming down the escalator, when i saw her. i hugged my mommy n turned away, my back facing her. SO EMBARASSING. i felt like digging a hole to bury myself. i attempted to wear the top my mom was buying over my shirt. but i didn't in the end. i'm a loser.

this is the end of my post for today. my brain juices are drained. =) at least this was a fulfilling post.

finding neverland and more

Hello. First, i would like to apologize for not updating this blog. the last time i posted was when again? no idea.

it's finally school hols! exams are over. the past 2 days have been great fun. we had our class chalet at nsrcc. =) erm, slightly out of the way but i think it's great. so peaceful and serene. the minute i arrived at the chalet, i tripped n fell... i am too clumsy for my own good. my poor toe cushioned the greatest impact. my skin tore and a bloody blister is what's seen on my toe now. the first night was a bbq of loads of food. we took shifts to make good food! food always tastes good when you're hungry. but not bad for a first try ok. my mom wouldn't let me stay over, so the 2nd day, nozhatie and i brought breakfast to them! =) damn, the night before i was stuck on reading the deathly hallows and ended up sleeping at 5am, woke up at 8am. 3 hours of sleep. i felt zombified. (i'll talk about harry potter later)

later part in the afternoon, we went to the club house supposedly to bowl, play pool and sing karaoke. in the end we ended up playing bowling only cos the karaoke thing was to scam our money and after the bowling game, we received our results via sms (can u think of a better way to spoil a day) i didn't bowl cos i couldn't exactly wear the bowling shoes could i.. some rp pple were bowling n cos they were pros, we felt kinda small... HAHA. so we took every attempt possible to cheer for ourselves. WOO!! anyway, dinner was supposed to be maggi. lots and lots of maggie. half busied themselves with bbqing what's left of the coal we had, the other half busied ourselves with cooking food using the microwave! an extremely useful invention. i was shocked to realised no one's eaten microwaved egg before... most of them didn't seem to even use a microwave before. lol. so for the night, auntie mx and i were microwaving everything! plates of ommelette with crab meat and sliced sausages, ohtah, the list goes on. jo was cooking the pot of maggi. she liked them soggy and i mean it. they turn out as fat as udong. initially, there was insuficient noodles so she cooked 5 more packets, supposedly for everyone to share, but it ended with weirong, minxue, jo n i eating all 5 packs. CRAZY. 5 packets of soaked fat noodles shared about 4 people who were pretty full from munching of food. i finished my bowl at least. YAY! then i left for home, not before taking 2 sticks of bbqed mushmallows! mmmm... 1 for peng who was nice enough to send me home. =)

oh ya! my results. i'm pretty content with it, my mom thinks otherwise, so does my sis cos they expected better. I PASSED FNB!!! JOY TO THE WORLD!!! no need to remember all the grape varieties, regions, appellations bla bla bla no more... (i think) anyways, i got 2Cs, 2Bs, 1A and 1Z.
Z not for fail but Z for distinction! yay. for macroecons. haha. how unexpected. hmmm... then i got an overall gpa of 3. aint that bad right???? not if ur in my family. =( oh well. i prefer to think i did alright. =) makes me feel better.

ok, now about harry potter. i've finally finished the whole series of books. took me about a month. i started reading the first book when deathly hallows was released. now i've finished reading the series. much thanks to auntie mx for all the books she loaned and thanks to shoe n her sis for the last book. =) i thought than ms j.k rowling ended the story beautifully. i know many christians deem the book as unsuitable for reading cos of the witchcraft and magic, but i think there are alot of morals and feelings within the book that are very much related to real life. bravery, wit, loyalty and ambition. then there's power, temptation, friendship and love. i liked lupin n dobby, and both ended dead. i liked fred n george too! one dead, the other 1-earless. oh well. all turns well.

moving on, today i watched finding neverland starring johnny depp and kate winslet. as well as the boy who acted as charlie from charlie and the chocolate factory. the movie took me for a tour around mr j.m barrie's imaginary world and imagination as a whole. it is amazing what u can see if u would just open your minds eye to everything and anything. maybe that's what neverland's about. about a place where there are no limits, a place ur mind can't grow old. anything is possible as long as u believe. i particularly liked this quote from peter pan "to die would be an awefully big adventure" =) i guess it would be, and it'll be an adventure we'll all have a chance to experience some day. till then, live life itself as a journey, a journey of stories.

Learning a valuable lesson

I learnt a valuable lesson today. Life is short and we must live it fully. We make mistakes along our way, and feel the regret and remorse only after it is done. What we can do is to pick ourselves up, and fix the problem so we will not continue living with this regret.

Sometimes, when we feel extremely angry with with anyone, think again before acting. Anger clouds your mind red. The red will slowly and gradually cloud your sight. It will prevent you from doing what you think is right. It may come in the form of Word Vommit, the Body losing control. A moment being swallowed by anger will result in fearful consequences. Hence, I urge you to think again. Think twice, thrice or more being acting.

If you have done wrong, just stand up and bravely admit your mistakes. They were yours to begin with so don't try to shift the blame and responsibility. Own up. Someone who did wrong and owns up is more righteous that one who did wrong and pretends it wasn't his fault.

If you seek for forgiveness, you will be given. Because God loves us so. Ask for it with a heart that truly begs for it.

So now, I pray to God for courage and bravery for me to stand up to my sin. I pray for the heart to forgive and forget. I pray for the willingness to be forgiven.

Amen.

Adding a last touch to this post,

our dear friend Amanda is very much ill. She is currently hospitalised in SGH for Lupus; a blood disease that lowers your immunity drastically because your white blood cells and red blood cells are fighting each other. This is even worse than getting dengue for the 2nd time. It is that bad.

It shocked me greatly to hear about her condition. The Amanda I know was by far one of the healthiest people I knew of. Who knew this terrible thing would happen. But Amanda's still as cheerful, optimistic and as full of life despite having to rely on steroids everyday, having multiple injections, and even with her whole body bruised and puffed up, she still has that sparkling smile that would melt your heart.

She's only 17. Why do bad things happen to such good people? She took ballet till great 8, learnt Jazz as well as other different dance genres. How did this happen? I too do not understand.

Please pray for Amanda. Even if you might not know her, please send your well wishes. I will keep on praying for her till the day she recovers which I believe she will. She has such an admirable will. =)

so cool right? PLAY! A video game symphony . it was the asian premire!

It's really cool to be part of such a huge event. =) there were rehearsals almost every evening.

Oh! Meanwhile, peng and i were also stuck on a new Korean drama, the last one to the quartet of seasons; Spring Waltz. I thought it was pretty nice. =) typical 2 guys, 2 girls, someone has to be evil but turns good. The songs are really nice especially this piano piece called Love Poem.

Back to PLAY!, i love the songs. Sherlyn, tab n i are always saying how halo sounds like pirates of the Caribbean, metal gear solid is also really nice!!! =)

Tama Goh, Sherlyn and I! Tama Goh’s one of the best drummers locally. =) he jams seriously well. Cos of the drum part, i think castlevenia sounded good.


An article printed on the Straits Times about the performance. We had pretty good comments. It was a night of beautiful music and exciting video graphics. =)I feel superbly fortunate to have the opportunity to do something like this. There were guest performances by the hip n happening composer of Daytona usa theme. He did a solo piano, singing performance and threw a sonic the hedgehog into the crowd. One more thing, there was this really cute violinist within the orchestra. He’s kinda short, but it doesn’t matter cos he’s got such beautiful eyes. Wanted to take a photo with him, but couldn’t get the chance to cos he disappeared. =(oh well, bye bye xiao shuai ge.

On Saturday, i had another kind of performance! It was a duet with Marc at Chew’s cousin’s wedding! It was truly an experience.
We performed at the luxurious fullerton hotel.

We sang At the Beginning cos it was suitable. I mean, “Now here we are, and i’m suddenly standing, at the beginning with you...” don’t you think it’s suitable? Took Marc n I quite some trouble to get the right audio track; we had to remove the existing vocals and change the key to a lower one cos it was too darn high. It turned out ok i guess.

That night stupid chew n marc kept suanning me and saboing me. So embarrassing.. they kept trying to push me to her cousin-in-law’s brother. WHATEVER. And it’s joanne who thinks *AHEM....* =P

OK! More!!! My sis n i went to shanghai for a short holiday. =)it was fun. We lodged with our aunt and slept on her really rock hard bed but we couldn’t be more grateful for her and auntie joyce’s hospitality. I can’t possibly post all the pics here so here are a few memorable ones.

4th day: venturing on our own again! Final day for shopping! we walked even more today than the day before. We walked about 4 train stations distance!

Eating our well deserved dinner at crystal jade. =) clockwise from top left, we ordered fried silver fish, sweet and sour pork, steamed shui jiao and finally xiao long bao! =P later, we had desert which was peanut and black sesame glutinous rice balls.

Last day: we went to our tua ee’s school to see her little kiddies!!

They are so so cute! Cos it’s an international school, they come from all over the world. The Jap boys and Korean girls are super duper cute. Anyway, they sang for us and we even ate lunch at the cafeteria which served a really good meal. =) it was fun.

Bye bye Shanghai, we left for Singapore on 21st and arrived safe and sound. Praise the Lord. On board the plane, i watched 200 pounds beauty, Hula Girls, The Road to Terabithia and Ghost Rider. The first 3 moved me to tears at one point in the show. The last one was just pretty lame.
