I realised....
And I also realised another thing about travelling (though it is not really related to being in a long trip) is the feeling I had when I just got back home, realising that I was still in Melbourne the night before and back home the next morning (supposed to be afternoon but thanks to daylight saving)! I remembered and realised this after just now suddenly thought of the stuff I did in that one week in Melbourne before coming back home. The memories were only just a few days ago but just because (I think,) they were done in Melbourne, it seemed like they were from quite a long time ago! Something like that.
Playing by staring at the computer screen for 4 hours caused me a headache XD so I am going to sleep now (soon).

Back in KK!
It's raining now. Actually, it has been raining the whole day! Today is my 4th day back. The weekend has been great, going out with family and friends, catching up, sharing jokes and games, etc.! Everything is good and I thank God for that!
Today, I am just kinda stuck at home, waiting for the opportunity to go out. I still can't drive out by myself yet and here it is not like in Melbourne where you can just walk out and go wherever in the city or tram/train to wherever out of the city. Talking about that, I will share this plan of mine to just one day sit on a tram/train and just travel wherever the whole day.. it will definitely be fun.. as long as it is not in a rainy day I suppose.
The internet here in my house has been much better, with much more stable connection. But I wonder why it is such a difficult thing for the videos to be buffered. Watching a 40sec video in YouTube would take like, 5mins, AND the buffering has not even reached half O.O! Been accustomed to how the videos got buffered so easily in Melbourne, haha so yup, can't really watch any videos other than reading blogs, getting updated with tech stuffs and facebooking! And chatting of course, but at the moment, can't really chat with anyone so I decided to blog. Had the feel to blog on Sunday night but i ended up dozing off in front of the comp and when I got up a short while later, I lost the feel and just went to bed, haha
The trip back from Melbourne via Singapore was good. And I realised, going on quite a long trip sure will have some interesting stories for people (I put here 'people' because I think mine was not that interesting or not that many). It is fascinating (for me) looking at the people around you like when you're queueing up to be checked in in the airport. And boy for me it was a very very long line especially how there were only 2 counters opened O.O! Singapore Airlines, I think I can understand your perhaps intention, on encouraging people to do online checking by having 3 counters for it, but it was not enough for the people that did not! Thank God after a while (actually, close to about an hour later), the First Class and Business Class counters started letting the Economic people (Class-ists >=/!!) to check in there.
And I now realised I really like to observe people especially when I am passing time like in the lines at passport counters, boarding gates, luggage claim area, etc. as I wait. Human interactions fascinates me XD
I actually thought of blogging about the interesting stuffs that happen to me during my trip back but I now kinda forgotten the stuffs and only remember one or two. So I will see if my memory comes back as I type.
One thing interesting (for me), was when I had my passport checked in Melbourne Tullamarine Airport:
The officer just held up my passport with the page of my personal details and a photo of me opened and stared at me, pretty much scrutinising my face, for like, half a minute? Well maybe not that long but it did feel so and I just smiled back a bit sheepishly I think, then after that the officer just stamped on my passport (with quite a force) and handed me back my passport, while still keeping that face of his that looked as if I am actually an imposter or like, just trying to cheat him or something, haha! So that was a first for me, and I understand and am okay with it since the passport photo was taken 4 years ago and I think I looked a bit different now, especially with my long hair? haha!
And here a photo I found from Google:

Put a banana in your ear!!
can be quite sentimental, if not very, at times, haha.. So, such little
things like tidying up the stuffs in my room or packing my luggage
actually trigger the memories i have in my mind whenever i come into
contact or look at a certain object that i have a memory of. And what
makes it worse? pretty much every object can do so XD
thought of it that way.. but yeah i learn that that could annoy people,
and even myself when i think of it afterwards! it's just that i never
really thought of the term for it, haha but i can be sure the source of
it.. which is:
the time (i think? haha) so anyone reading this, if i have annoyed you
with my indecisiveness, i'm sorry about that.. i will try my best to
improve!
resolutions for next year on what to improve i suppose.. can't believe
it's December already and my flight home via Singapore is like, in
about 8 more hours O.O

so i better sleep now XD
thought of just writing this here since i haven't blogged for so long..
(Disclaimer: photos aren't mine.. got them from Google!)

PS3 and Sony Bravia!
Well that's the ad Sony Australia has come up with for their offer of free PS3 with each Sony Bravia bought, something like that..
Swot Vac is over and 1st paper (chemistry) is this coming Wednesday. Will have to buckle up and Staaaaaaaa deeeee! The whole Swot Vac was used to do assignments and there were 5 assignments due through out the week! it would have been 6 if it wasn't because Structural Analysis online test due on Thursday got postponed to the next week. 3 were due on Friday which were Strucutural Analysis Beam testing and Carport Design group project report and Engineering Practice 2 ePortfolio. I suppose i am being more detailed so that next time i can look back at this and remember it, haha!
I suppose i will upload photos of the beam testing (got 7.5/10) next time when i got the photos as i didn't bring my camera that day. Spring is coming to an end and summer is coming!
I sure miss the natural aircond wind blowing on my face..

Random Facts
- I'm supposed to be working on my group project
Well, yeah.. and how time flies when i'm not -.-
2. I actually like washing dishes
Yup.. i actually like washing dishes.. with a good detergent and armed with a trusty sponge and a rough sponge to eliminate those tough stains, i enjoy washing dishes!
I like the feeling of making the dishes all clean, smooth, and oil-less.. i suppose washing them with the nice cooling clean water is another reason why too!
If i have the time and nothing else to do, i won't mind washing dishes all day! So there.. at least i know have a secure backup plan on what to do if i can't get a job with my degree in the future.. haha
Yup.. and hence this post.. because i thought of it as i was washing dishes just now.. and yup.. stuffs goes around my head from time to time.. but i suppose that's why i'm so forgetful? not big enough hard drive to store more stuffs?
haha well that's all the random facts for now..

Hmmmm
Assignments being done last minute.. and being late for events that i could have made it earlier or had time for.. sleeping and waking up late..
I suppose it's getting out of control.. gotta have stronger will..
This blog lately has just been me telling myself all these yet not much effort has been taken apparently..
meanwhile..
it's been raining these few days! and winter seems to be back again because it's so cold and windy the temperature was about or below 10 degree Celcius! played English football yesterday in the cold wind and it was really windy! but it was fun since i haven't been playing for a long time and i played with my new pair of Nike Total90 shoes!

it's indoor but i suppose since i can't really get an indoor and an outdoor ones an indoor one will be more suitable for the moment.. got it for $80 from $100 after 20% one-day discount at Rebel Sport Bourke St. ..
And well it was a crazy and fun week! jamming, looking at night skies, hanging out and all-you-can-eat-yumcha with Act1v8!
not all of Act1v8 but only some la, haha
Looking at the forecast for this week it seems like it'll be more spring-like weather now.. but still gonna rain! and well i enjoy the coolness but it'll depend on when it rains.. but it's good news for Melbourne since it's raining.. and even Mount Buller extended their snow season to this sunday because even more snow appeared due to the rain and wind!
1st paper of exams is exactly a month away.. what are you gonna do now Ronan?
i suppose i'm writing this for the Ronan in a few years ahead to come back here and see this..
whether a sense of guilt or joy that follows the heart as he reads this will depend on what i'm gonna do now..
hmmmm

RONAN is BACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK for now..
i finally decided to pick up my hands and start blogging again.. why?
'cause i have decided to at least use my time wisely when i am not studying!
Well.. it is now August and unbelievably, a week to 6 months (or half a year) since i first came over to Melbourne to study! How time flies~
So what happened to Ronan?
Nothing much.. had winter break, sis visited Melbourne, cut hair, Semester 2 started, etc.
Swine Flu (H1N1), from my previous post, is now totally out of the picture in Melbourne not because the pandemic is over but i simply do not know why -.-
Posted this using a Mac computer in the library while waiting for next lecture to start and it is now!

Swine Flu Swine Flu
"Swine flu cases top 1,000 in Victoria" - The Age Online
"Victoria insists it's safe to visit despite the state's swine flu caseload soaring past 1,000 and Queensland rugby league stars being quarantined after playing in Melbourne last week. The state's Acting Chief Health Officer Dr Rosemary Lester said there were now 1,011 cases of the H1N1 virus in Victoria, with 137 cases confirmed over the weekend.
She insists the state's response to the virus is proportionate to the risk it poses to the community." (read more)
That's an excerpt from today's The Age..
"Seventh H1N1 patient detected"-The Star Online
"PUTRAJAYA: A female Australian student has been confirmed to be the seventh patient infected with influenza A (H1N1) in Malaysia, said Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Ismail Merican. He said the 15-year-old travelled with her mother from Melbourne on AirAsia X D7 2723 and arrived at the LCCT at 7am on Friday.
Her fever was detected when she went through the thermal scanner screening at the airport.
“She told our medical team that she had started having fever, cough and sore throat the day before arriving in Malaysia,” he said in a statement here yesterday." (read more)
And that's from yesterday's Malaysia's The Star..
"Dr Ismail said the AirAsia flight was carrying 258 passengers at the time."
So why do i post these excerpts?
I find that the media and politics here in Victoria
inexperienced and poor,
inept and unprofessional,
foolish and obnoxious.
i basically lost any descriptions i could remember to describe this utterly ridiculous situation the people here are in.
but the whole thing shows the flaws and the ugly side of this place's news broadcasting and foolishness of its political heads.
out of the major five australian channels: ABC 1, SBS 1, 7, Channel 9 and Ten, only the news in ABC 1 and SBS 1 would report international news. ABC 1 having a specific segment for international news while SBS 1 for broadcasting other countries' news like China's CCTV, Indonesia's, Sri Lanka's, etc. BUT, only in the morning, where students are having classes and working adults are working. The other stylish and quality-looking news broadcast from 7, Channel 9 and Ten are just surface-deep. Unless Australia is in the spotlight of a certain news, then only it's being talked about, being reported about.
BUT, not all. Just mainly good news relating Australia, then they report, then they broadcast. News about how an Australian student with swine flu could fly out of Melbourne's airport only to be detected in Malaysia after being in the same plane with other 256 passengers, is totally not being mentioned at all. It's not like this is the first case where someone from Melbourne brought the flu overseas but still, none was reported at all!
What i'm saying is that the people here are not well-informed of what's really happening around the world, how other countries are doing to prevent the spread like Japan closing almost all of their schools to prevent the spread (unlike here ) and Hong Kong quarrantined the whole hotel because the 1st confirmed case is in it!
I think it's because these countries faced SARS and Bird Flu before and Australia, being inexperienced, has not done much to learn from those countries!
Before i start writing a book about all this, i will just list out in points what i'm trying to say:
- World Health Organisation (WHO) middle of May (about a month ago), has already urged restraint on Tamiflu in swine flu (read more) and "that antiviral drugs should be given to only patients most at risk" BUT Victoria here has been giving them like candies to whoever is displaying flu-like symptons during their "quarrantine" stage as they have now moved to "sustain" stage, finally giving treatment to high-risk areas and patients.
- The health authorities and doctors here are also 'funny', and funnily reported in 2 weeks ago's The Age article (read more). The article reported 'Australia's top doctor calls for swine flu calm' but did not really mention clearly, who. Unless it's this health officer Professor-someone that was mentioned afterwards. And other doctors from other states giving mixed statements on whether we should worry or not. And there's really one thing to note in that article:
"The human H1N1 Brisbane strain, which has been circulating in Australia for the last few years, is already largely resistant to Tamiflu," Dr Stevenson said.
"Any cross-reactivity between the swine H1N1 bug and the human H1N1 bug will transfer this resistance." "
- Even the politicians are funny! Like the state's premier criticising other states' preventative measures as being 'silly' and gotta have others to talk back at him (read more), which i think he's just most probably trying to give excuses and to try bail himself out of the situation Victoria has gotten itself into.
- And the people themselves! With "swine flu parties" being done in US, the locals here are talking about it like it's chicken pox! (read more here and here)
Oh well i'm tired now.. gonna go back to studying..

A typical day in Melbourne
Wanted to blog about it but have been busy with all the assignments due.
It was a Strike Day that day.. by National Tertiary Education Union.. saying need to increase more staff for the benefits of student, blah blah blah.. but ended up affecting the normal lives of students on that day, apparently..

Well, lecture of Engineering Practice still went on and that's a picture of the type of overhead projector they use, using videocamera instead of light to capture the image of what is gonna be projected..

And it was very foggy that day.. this picture was taken around 9.30am..
if anyone did notice the time stamped on the picture, it's because my phone was still running on Malaysian time, haha

Went into a lift inside the university and even the light of the lift was on strike??
this was how it looked like, going to the 12th floor in a dark lift for the 1st time.. thank God the lift wasn't planning on going on a strike too, haha

then on my way down on another lift whose light was not on strike,
saw this abandoned chair in the corner of the lift..

And off to the place i stay here in Melbourne which i temporary call 'home' i went because the supposedly physics lecture in the afternoon was cancelled because the lecturer joined in the strike -.-

these few days getting colder.. morning till early afternoon 12-14 degree Celsius and then afterwards till night it is 7-9 degree Celcius.. but it seems like on thursday the maximum temperature will reach 17..
two assignments due this fri.. no pressure? i'm a well-experienced procrastinator so that is why, i guess.. but gotta change, gotta change..
p.s. hair getting longer. not. gonna. cut.

Finally.... an update!
Time flies.. as it's nearly 2 months now. I realised that time are spent if you fully use it. Like when i just arrived, the 1st week was the week before uni starts so each day was spent walking around sightseeing, taking pictures, and buy stuffs. So that one week actually went by slowly and boy was it like i was in vacation.
Then uni started. Orientation, lectures, tutorials, lab sessions, suddenly everyday just went by so easily because there is a routine. Today do this, tomorrow do that. Then time just flies.
Well, things are going well at the moment. Passed up assignments just very on time, except the recent one with 8 minutes passed due time but thankfully, still counted.
There are lots of stuffs here in Melbourne. But i guess i'll blog about it in separate posts with pictures.

What a post!
now that my laptop's being sent in to be diagnosed 'cause the speakers are already erm.. 'bao ying' in chinese and in english would just be, having some problems, and the internet line's much better now and i finally think i have the time for it as i'm using my sis' computer once again, i'll blog for a while and do the tag SOT - Some Other Time..
Today's exactly a week before i finally fly to Melbourne on my own.. it'll be the first time travelling on my own.. the thought would normally excites me, but i'm having mixed feelings about it.. one more week in KK before i go.. yeah i'm coming back by the end of the year but it'll be quite some time later.. it's this kinda period where i would stop and look around and observe even more at the people and stuffs around me.. it's this kinda period where i would appreciate more of the people and stuffs around me.. man.. this kinda feeling ain't doing me any good..
It's really still a surprising thing for me, that i'm going to Melbourne.. studying in a university that i thought i would not be going.. RMIT.. when i applied with my lousy UEC results and A-levels forecast with 2 Ds i wasn't expecting i would be accepted, unconditionally.. and it's the only university to do so.. others would require me to get average C in my a-levels (which i so easily have acquired and even slight better(haha)) or can't offer me Civil Engineering but something else.. So i dragged.. i received the offer letter on the 6th of january but i've only sent in the acceptance form slightly more than 2 weeks later.. the offer's subject to availability of place there.. i've been told that there still is.. and now visa's done, accomodation's paid, ticket's paid, stuffs bought, i'm still a bit worried.. am i really going there? am i really accepted? i'm like, waiting for a big "YOU'VE BEEN ACCEPTED! JUST COME ENROLL YOURSELF ALREADY!!" which will be obvious enough.. but i'll continue to pray.. if this is God's Will i should not worry one bit.. but just miss everything back here though, haha..
oh well.. that's it for now..

Everything to God - Desperation Band
(woohoo! that is also what i should remind myself every now and then)

I Will Say - Lou Fellingham
(haha! of course i will! it's 4! yeah!)
11) WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR BEST FRIEND?
Emmanuel - Hillsong
(wow.. God with us! and now, since half of the Qs have been answered, don't think that the 612 songs in my list are all except the Paramore song, Christian-made songs (as what i call them) 'cause there are also quite a lot of secular songs in it as well la! haha)

Happy Birthday, Ronan!
Tried onlining but Streamyx has been very very bad these few days. The line kept breaking down -.- and only now when it's after midnight the line is better. Really gotta call them and have this lingering problem fixed. It's really riddiculous since my neighbour's internet line has been fantastic all these years.
Well here's some pics of my birthday cake, just 2 candles, haha..

Gotta blur up the name since it's TradeMarked. But i suppose some will do recognise the name.
Using my mind to blow out the candles. I really did it, no kidding. I used my mind to think of blowing the candles, and then my mouth reacted and blow! So the candles got blew out, haha.
And just now at night went Salim and treated a few of my friends yamcha, which is my favourite past time (not the belanja). The pics taken are not with me here.
Well i've been tagged by my Gen2 and i suppose i'll just gotta do that later in the morning since i can't stay up any later. It's not that i can't but i'm not allowed to as i've been up till 6 in the morning twice in a row using the computer, haha..
