Family Temple Trip

On Tuesday, we headed to Apex, North Carolina for a quick overnight trip and a visit to the Raleigh, NC Temple. We arrived around 3:00pm and checked into our hotel. Shortly after that, we headed to the pool for a quick swim before going to dinner.

We went to "5 Guys" for dinner and then headed back to the hotel. The kids got ready for bed and Jason and I got ready to go to the temple. The temple is about 1 1/2 hours away and so it usually takes the majority of a day for us to attend. Sometimes that's difficult with kids. It was really nice to leave the kids in Kelsey's care at the hotel and drive just 10 minutes to the temple. Jason and I really enjoyed going to the temple together and having some time to ourselves for a few hours.

The next morning we ate breakfast at the hotel and then we drove back to the temple so the kids could walk around the grounds and take some pictures. About 2 minutes after we got there, a monsoon-type rainstorm poured down on us and we all got soaked to the bone.
It is definitely an experience we will never forget!!

Christmas Day 2015

Christmas morning was full of all the usual excitement at the Romney house! The kids could hardly wait to run down the stairs to see what Santa had brought.
Spencer didn't really understand what was going on, but he enjoyed it nonetheless! He received a fun Little People car set, some books, mittens and snacks from Santa.

Candy and books.
What could be better than that!!
There's money hiding in the cup!

Parker was very excited to finally receive a "Crayola Maker", even though it wasn't the one on his list. He was also very happy to receive his very own art set, a new book, a calendar, a toothbrush and some candy and snacks from Santa.

We enjoyed a very yummy Christmas breakfast of eggs, hash browns, bacon, and cinnamon rolls and then spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying each other's company. Unfortunately, Parker had pneumonia and so he spent the majority of the day quarantined to his room resting, but he wasn't too sad about it, because he spent the whole day making crayon molds and building things out of Legos :)

We are so very grateful for the blessings that we enjoy and most importantly for our dear Savior, Jesus Christ. He is truly the reason for the Season

Christmas Eve 2015

We had our traditional Christmas Eve candlelight dinner of ham, au graten potatoes, rolls and salad--it was delicious! Then we had our final Advent of the season. We read about the birth of Jesus Christ in the Bible and sang Christmas hymns. We had peppermint ice cream pie, hot chocolate, and M&M's for dessert.
Then it was time to open the traditional Christmas Eve pajamas...
