Vampire romance 'Twilight' takes $70.6M bite out of box office in opening weekend

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Audiences found the vampire romance "Twilight" infectious in its opening weekend, pushing the movie to a take of $70.6 million.

Catherine Hardwicke's film also enjoyed the biggest opening ever for a female director, blowing away the previous standard of $41.1 million set by Mimi Leder's "Deep Impact" in 1998.

Drawing from its huge fan base of teenage girls, who fell for Stephenie Meyer's novel of forbidden love between brooding vampire Edward Cullen and bookish high schooler Bella Swan, "Twilight" made a whopping $20,636 per theater, according to Sunday morning estimates.

I am totally in love with my french teacher! he is so cute!!! haha! today is the last french lesson we are having! which means no class next week! yes! we are happy people. but the thought of not being able to see my french teacher again makes me kinda sad. haha. he is really cute you know? we even took pictures with him after class today! happy happy happy! kaly was even more excited than me. trust me! and he even taught us vulgar french words after all the presentations and stuff! it was so funny! i am loving french! and he said he would remember us cos our class is his first teaching class since coming to np! we are so going to miss him too! :)

oh yes! in case you guys are wondering, the above picture is the so called MERLIONSTER we ate at B&J Vivocity. to think i thought Haagen Daz gave smaller scoops of ice cream, i didn't REALIZE that B&J's merlionster can strink in sizes too! and the girl that served us. she looked as if i owe her a million pounds. i don't know what is wrong. and i don't want to know. but as a consumer, i believe i do have my rights. i paid 21 bucks for the ice cream and i expect some standard in the ice cream you guys served. even McDonald's treated me with some sort of respect when i bought the 60 cents ice cream! and i do believe i wasn't being very difficult when i ordered the merlionster. and i seriously don't think i deserve that kind of attitude from you, miss scooper. i even SAID thank you at the end after u served me with the tiny punee miniature MERLIONSTER. this is not the first time i am having B&J merlionster. In fact, i am a regular at B&J outlets. don't even think about telling me that the merlionster is meant to be THIS MINIATURE SIZE! i am not blind too. those ppl around us are getting bigger scoops than ours! i don't know you.i have never met you before. therefore, i DO believe i didn't provoke you in any way at all. so... let me tell you... i seriously think you just mess with the wrong sort of people this time round! damn it!
