I never want to leave Hilton Head.

Since Saturday, my family and some of my brothers' friends have been vacationing in Hilton Head!  We have been having an absolutely wonderful time and I think I'd rather die than leave here.  The weather has been amazing, I've gotten just the right amount of sun without getting burnt, and I've been able to spend some great quality time with the best fam in history!  I'm going to do a longer post on HHI with pictures, but I just wanted to write a quick update to share some amazing news with y'all!

I GET TO TEACH BIOLOGY IN THE FALL!

My AMAZING principal emailed me today and informed me that as of right now, I have two periods of earth science and one period of biology for this upcoming fall semester!  And starting second semester, I'll get TWO periods of biology and one of earth science!  This news has seriously made my day, and I am so thrilled to get the opportunity to teach my favorite/the best subject out there. :) Since biology is the only specific high school science class that is mandated by strict standardized test scores and graduation requirements, it is not often that a first year teacher is given the opportunity to teach it.  Needless to say, I feel incredibly blessed that my school has enough confidence in my teaching abilities to give it to me!  God is truly at work in this situation!  I am so excited to begin planning units with my co-workers, and am really looking forward to what the Lord is going to do this school year!

God is making some huge moves in my life right now.  It's super scary, but I know that it's for my best and for the work that He wants to do through me.  I can't wait to watch how He touches the lives of my students. :) My prayer is that I am able to be the best witness to His glory that I can be.  I am so incredibly thankful and humbled by His mercy and faithfulness.  It is truly amazing. :)

First Post!

Hi everyone!

I've never seen myself as much of a blogger, but I've realized that it's one of the best ways to keep in touch once I move back home and away from college life.  So please bear with me as I get the hang of this!  A much cuter design is coming very soon, promise!

I'm really going to try to update this often, with the goal being to share funny stories and lessons that the Lord teaches me as I complete my first year as a high school science teacher.  I am incredibly excited, scared, hopeful, and thankful that God has placed me exactly where He wants me to be.  If you would have asked me a year ago where I thought I would be at this point in my life, I would have told you that I pictured myself teaching at my alma mater (go bulldogs!), but this new job seems somehow better and more perfectly suited just for me.  I know that probably sounds silly, but I can totally see the Lord's hand on my life in this area and I am beyond grateful for His provision.  :)

As for my current situation, I am completing my second summer as a camp counselor at the country club where I work, as well as babysitting and (trying to!) getting organized for my move back home.  I'm so happy to have the option of staying at my parents' house for a couple of months while I accumulate some money before moving into my own place.  They are so gracious to allow me to stay with them, and I'm so excited to get to spend some time with them and my brothers again.  It's definitely going to be an adjustment, but I know God is in control.  Pray for me as I enter into this new and exciting part of my life!  I cannot wait to meet my students and co-workers, and to fulfill God's plan for me!

Caroline :)
