For the 4th of July we had the opportunity to go and visit family in NM. We both grew up their and have family still living their so it is always fun to go back and visit. Ahhh, fond memories. :) As part of the tradition, one of our wards host a fun parade and activities for families. So we got their bright and early Saturday morning to meet up with everyone and get in line for the parade.
Meeting Papa before the Parade Ready to go.... Where's the candy?? Papa, Anma, and the Uncles.
No cousin's yet... Grandma, the Aunts & the Couz'sAfter the parade his Uncle was holding him and rubbing checks with him and he busted up laughing. He must have loved the scruffiness because he thought that was the funniest thing in the whole world.
After the parade they had all sorts of fun activies like a duck toss, face painting, sponge throw, and tug-of-war. Of course baby bubba couldn't participate in any of the activitis but they did have snow cones and boy howdy, watch out! He must have downed 2-3 snow cones!
His cousins were able to participate in the festivities and in so doing they earned tickets. They could then redeem the tickets for prizes and one of the prizes was water guns. So they earned enough tickets to get water guns for everyone and then the party started!
Then, after a much needed restful afternoon, we ended the day at one of our favorite resturants, Tomasita's! I LOVE the sopapiallas!
Thanks to everyone for a wonderful time! We enjoyed every minute of it! I love this time of year to get together with friends, family, and for the chance to reflect on this great nation of ours! I LOVE AMERICA! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
