Sparkling Monochrome Christmas

We are Christmas every month over at Christmas Craft Creations, so if you have made anything seasonal come and join us. This month we are 'anything goes' and we have prizes too.
Making cards for men doesn't have to be challenging, this one would be very suitable with it's monochrome pallet, even flowers work well this way.
For this card I cut the frame in white with a silver mirri inner frame. Then cut the tree and foliage layers in shades of grey, finishing with a black glitter background with the deer cut out and backed with silver glitter.  All these layers were stuck down flat but you could easily add foam tape to give more depth.
For the foliage I used grey and silver mirri card. The flower was cut in mat card for the top layer and glitter card for the backing. The gem in the centre was coloured silver with a Sharpie marker.
Don't forget to pop over and join in with us at Christmas Craft Creations, you could be one of our lucky prize winners.

For my project today, I’ve created a small 4x4 card using some brayer 'run off' ink as a background. I have lots of these small pieces of inked card following an experiment with gel plates, I love this 'no waste' crafting.
Once trimmed to size I stamped some small Cardio deer and trees in black Versafine ink, layered it up on a thin black mat and glued it to the white card blank. To add a little more definition I used a white gel pen to highlight the trees and deer. There is no room for a greeting on the outside so that will have to go inside, cards this size could also be used as gift tags if necessary.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Summer Paper Funday

This months challenge at The Paper Funday is all about Summer Fun. So for this little card I have used one of our sponsor images, Tree House Love by HettyClare.
There are no progress pictures as it was just a case of printing the image off on some 120gsm white card and colouring it in with alcohol markers. There is a thin very pale grey line all the way around the image to make it stand out a little, a friend taught me this trick and it seems to work well.
The card blank is only four inches square, a very small card that would make the perfect tag for a New Home gift. I searched through my stash for a New Home stamp but came up empty handed, hard to believe I don't have one......yet!
A very thin mat layer helps pick out the red in the image, I tried a few colours but that looked the best option.
Please come and join us at The Paper Funday, it's an Anything Goes challenge with the optional twist of Summer Fun.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Your Next Stamp - #167 Home Sweet Home
Angie's Digital Stamps - #54 Anything Goes/optional Flags
Digi Choosday - Wk27 Anything Goes

Dragon Girl

Our third challenge at River Of Creativity is to make anything you like as long as there are 'no hearts or mushy stuff' on it. It doesn't have to be papercraft, it can be anything that you have made.

The image panel on this picture is a digital paper from Vectoria Designs, I don't do much with digital images but this caught my imagination because I love dragons. The whole pack has my head buzzing with ideas for a journal, but for now it's just a picture to hang on the wall.
After printing the image I took a piece of white card and some Distress inks and made a corresponding backing sheet. Spritzing with water when finished to achieve the speckled effect.
I cut a dark blue mat layer to go between the image panel and the backing sheet, then cut another blue mat to go behind the backing sheet, it's amazing how much it changes the picture.
To give the picture some dimension and interest I printed another page from the set and die cut it with one of Jamie Rodgers Canvas Collection dies. The sides were glued down but I used some foam tape in the middle to give it support.
I was hoping to have it framed before now but I haven't found the right one yet, when I do I think it may have to be altered slightly to fit with the subject, I'll update this post when it's done.

Please come and join us at River Of Creativity, we accept anything you have made as long as we can see our chosen theme in there somewhere.
