What, Then, Shall We Say?
I don’t even know where to begin. I have so many thoughts about what is happening in our nation- how the response to it makes me question my own sanity, how I don’t want to be silent but can’t see how voicing my opinion will bring any change. I know this: My hope is not in our government and our government has no bearing on my faith. I also know that as a follower of Christ, I cannot turn away from the suffering of others- much of it being fueled by our government. I care about democracy. I care about the rights given to us in the Constitution. I care about my country working to ensure that everyone has those unalienable rights. I care about our leaders fulfilling their sworn oaths to uphold and protect the Constitution. We cannot pretend that what is happening does not outright dismantle our Constitutional protections and rights.
