7.5 Months

DSC_7420

I really don’t have time to be blogging right now, but my past year or two of posting history has taught me that if I don’t do it RIGHT NOW, it’s not going to happen.  So here you go – pictures taken less than an hour ago.

Don’t let those two adorable bottom teeth deceive you – they are basically sharp little razors, and she knows how to use them.  Ouch!  Luckily her little biting phase appears to have been short lived.  She hasn’t bit me for a week or so, knock on wood.

She isn’t crawling yet, but I think she’s close.  Just this week she’s started pushing up onto her hands and knees, and even rocking a little bit.  Things will get interesting then . . . this house has a lot of stairs.  We’ll see how that goes.

That picture above is her genuine happy face – she scrunches her face up so her eyes disappear and breathes quickly through her nose.  Calvin used to do something similar, only he would flare his lips.

She is still a good sleeper.  Most nights she sleeps from about 8:30-6:00.  Once in a while she’ll wake up in the night and want to nurse, then she goes right back to sleep.

She’s a little bit harder during the day than she used to be . . . she wants to be held more often and just seems to need more attention.  I thought it was the teeth coming in, but it doesn’t seem to be letting up so maybe it’s here to stay.  Luckily her sisters and brother like to play with her and keep her entertained, and they’re so good to help when I need to make dinner or get other things done.

Speaking of dinner, she loves food.  She hasn’t met a food she doesn’t like.  She eats three meals a day and nurses 4-5 times a day.

She sits up by herself now, and she can maneuver herself onto her tummy without falling.  She gets called Oakster, Oakley Babe, Oak Sprout, and lots of other names that don’t stick.  I still thinks he looks like Londyn but she’s also looking more and more like Calvin.  Everything she can get her hands on goes into her mouth.

She’s delightful.  :)
