Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend, Rob and I went down to Sandy to spend some time with my parents. Friday after work we drove to Sandy and spent a relaxing night eating dinner, watching basketball, and just talking. Saturday we woke up, got ready, and then went to the store to buy flowers to take to the cemetery.

First we went to take flowers to my Grandma and Grandpa Menssen's graves. My Grandma was such an awesome person and I wish I could remember more about her. I was only 7 years old when she died so my memories have faded over the years. She was so strong in the church and was a great example to all of us. My Grandpa Menssen died before I was born so I haven't met him yet. From everything I have heard he was awesome!

Next we went to the South Jordan cemetery to put flowers on my Grandma and Grandpa Jensen's graves. We met some of my Aunts, Uncles, and cousins there. We have such a great family and I know it would make my grandparents happy to see that we have stayed close as a family. My Grandma and Grandpa Jensen were also great people. I have so many fun memories of spending time with them. They loved us more than anything and I was lucky to spend so much time with them when they were alive. After the cemetery, we all went and picked up food and went to a park. It is always fun to talk and catch up with the cousins.

Saturday night and Sunday we just hung out at the house, went for walks, of course went to church, ate good food, watched more basketball. and talked a lot. Monday we had a little barbecue for lunch and then Rob and I headed back to Logan. We did some shopping on our way home. It was a really fun and relaxing weekend. It is also great to be in the last 2 weeks of school! I am definitely looking forward to summer! :)

Weekend

This weekend Rob and I spent our first weekend apart from each other since we got married! I hate not being together. In fact I am still waiting for him to get home and I am so excited to see him. Thursday morning Rob left for Portland to attend the Baja competition. I will write more about his little vacation when I have some pictures to post. He has been gone for 5 days and 4 nights! I decided I didn't want to spend the whole weekend alone so after work on Friday I drove home to spend the weekend with my parents in Sandy. It was really fun to spend some time with them and just relax. We did some shopping, went to lunch, a walk, watched tv, and spent a lot of time talking. On Sunday I cooked dinner for my mom and Nancy (and of course my dad- he got to clean up). It was fun to be able to spend mother's day with my mom. I really am lucky to have the best mom in the world. She is so great! Sunday night I went for a walk with Amanda and we also visited Millie. They are so great! Weekends really do go by too fast! The great thing is that I only have 17 more days of work before summer break! Yeah!
