cora's hands

cora has discovered her hands.  for some reason she prefers staring at her left hand.  after a few days of intense examination of her hands, she realized that she can grab and pick up things.  she likes to grab and hang on to my hair, my shirt, blankets, and even the occasional toy.

hug me.

not fun

i am totally sick.  again.  i can't believe it.  so far, cora and ryan are still healthy and i hope it stays that way.  ryan had the day off of school so he has done his best to take care of cora and help me feel better.  let's hope this passes soon.  please.

poppin' a snap

She's growing.  This picture just cracks me up.  I think it's the crazy bug eyes that puts it over the top.

She finally had her 2 month check up (technically she is now 3 months).  She weighed in at a whoppping 12 lbs 10 oz and she took her shots like a champ.  Her stats were normal and the doctor said she was a strong little girl.  I guess I need to pack away the clothes that she has outgrown and pull out some bigger stuff.  That went by crazy fast.

weirdness

running + nursing + giving blood = I EAT MORE THAN RYAN.  seriously.

one day on a walk with cora in the cemetery, another walker said something to the effect that it was nice of me to take my little sister on an afternoon walk.  i told him that she is my daughter, not my little sister.

ryan and i were good citizens of the community and donated blood.  ryan totally passed out and i caught him by the armpit as he was slumping to the floor. ryan was fine of course, but just needed to lay down.

we met up with some of ryan's optometry friends on friday night for dessert.   i totally wiped out in the parking lot.  it was the slow motion fall.  i sure make good first impressions.

ryan, cora, and i went to get the mail tonight.  we were teasing each other by racing to get our building key out first in the mailroom.  i won on getting my key out first but i could not get the key to actually go into the keyhole.  i was totally bending over with my face super close to the keyhole really concentrating to get it in for like an entire minute.  ryan was just watching me laughing his head off until he decided to tell me i had the wrong key out.  i guess he wins.  and he enjoys reminding me about my brain lapse.

Reasons to SMILE

I have two good reasons to smile:

1.  Cora slept through the night again.  10:30 pm to 6:30 am.  The even bigger news is: I slept EIGHT CONSECUTIVE HOURS!  I have not slept 8 hours straight since last November.  That was 11 months ago.  It's about time.

2.  Over the weekend, the prophet of our church, President Monson, announced that a templewill be built here downtown Philly!  We are really excited because currently, the closest temples are DC and Manhattan.

I love her little half smile.

hello out there

hi everyone.  i went longer than usual between posts for lots of reasons.  i got sick.  my camera memory was full and i needed to back up my pics.  nothing exciting was happening.  well, i finally am no longer sick, my pictures are almost all the way backed up and the memory is cleaned off, and we actually did something picture worthy (that's debatable).  so, this is us and what we have been up to.

Cora took a nap.

I realize that she is still way too small for this stroller.  And I forgot to take all of the plastic off.

We saw a dead squirrel in the cemetery.  It died in the right place.

Ryan changed a diaper.

After getting messes out of Cora's stuff, I lay it across the tub until I have enough to do a load of laundry.  For some reason, when Ryan helps out, we have many more 'messes.'  I miss having a washer and dryer.

We thought it was funny that Cora reached for the bag of goldfish.........

......until she spilled it everywhere.  What were we thinking?

Ryan and Cora had a staring contest.

That is pretty much it.
