Keira Starts Pre-school

All ready to go to school! Keira told me to stay in the "safe zone" so she could walk into school by herself.  Luckily, I allowed this because she goes to school right across the street.  Our friend and fellow ward member has a degree in early childhood education and is a fantastic school teacher!  Keira loves it! She is so independent, and looks forward to being on her own.  There's no holding her back!

Election Day Surprise

After placing a Romney/Ryan sign in our yard on Monday afternoon, we, along with many other people in our neighborhood, sporting the same sign, awoke with a surprise on the morning of Election Day: Someone decided to cast their vote in black spraypaint on our front porch!

In contrast, we very much appreciated this statement that The First Presidency
and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued on Tuesday:
"We congratulate President Obama on winning a second term as
President of the United States.
After a long campaign, this is now a time for Americans to come together.
It is a long tradition among Latter-day Saints to pray for our national leaders
in our personal prayers and in our congregations. We invite Americans
everywhere, whatever their political persuasion, to pray for the President,
for his administrationand the new Congress as they lead us through
difficult and turbulent times.May our national leaders reflect the best in
wisdom and judgment as theyfulfill the great trust afforded to them
by the American people.
We also commend Governor Romney for engaging at the highest level of our
democratic process, which, by its nature, demands so much of those who
offer themselves for public service. We wish him and his family
every success in their future endeavors."

Emma Turns 7 today!

Emma turned 7 today at exactly 10:31 a.m.  Yesterday she got a new pink bike and learned to ride it on the first try!  We are going to go to the movie with the family today, and eat her favorite chocolate and vanilla cupcakes--filled with mousse!  Happy Birthday Emma!
