Lilly and Ruby

Well I've been wanting to do a post about my girls for a while now and I find it funny that the moment I sit down to write about how fun and cute they are I find myself in a place of tears and fury. Ruby is crying because the peaches she decided were icky and would not eat are now being devoured by Lilly. Lilly is mad because I won't get her any more cheese, so now she has to eat Ruby's peaches which she thinks are very tasty but she's upset because they are in a yellow bowl instead of the cute pink one she loves. Oh the drama! Fortunately they really are still fun and cute even through the tears and emotions.

Lilly was the "star of the week" in preschool a couple of week ago where she got to tell about herself and bring fun pictures to show her class. One of the subjects she talked about was, what she wanted to be when she grows up. Well, I am happy to report that Rhett and myself will be the proud parents of Wonder Woman when Lilly grows up. We are so excited to have a super hero in our future to fight our battles against evil! I love that Lil wants to be Wonder Woman. It's so her. She is such a girl in the sense that she wants to be pretty and play with beautiful toys but she also has this funny side where she wants to be strong and fast. She doesn't want to be a boy but she wants to be able to hang with them. Lilly is such an upbeat kid. She loves people and friends, animals, climbing, jumping and anything pink. What a gal!!!

Ruby is my little singer. She loves music and she loves to dance. She walks around all day singing the ABC song, the itsy bitsy spider, apples and bananas and my personal favorite, Tinkerbell, Tinkerbell, Tinkerbell all the way. Some how we failed to teacher her that it's jingle bells not Tinkerbell, someday we will break the news to her but for now I'm really enjoying the Tinkerbell song. She loves her sister and wants to eat, play, wear and do everything she is doing. Every morning when she wakes up she asks where Lil is but she calls her Yo or Yowee. She is so cute and learning so much everyday. It's amazing the amount of growth and progress these little babies make in just one year, although we are feeling a little short changed when it comes to hair growth! We are really hoping to make some real progress in that area this next year! She loves mom and dad, both her grandmas and grandpas and snuggling up with a blanket and a big bottle of chocolate milk!! I love my girls and feel very blessed to be their mother.

2009 Disneyland Trip

Well, It was another amazing trip to Disneyland. This is really is a place I don't think I could ever get sick of. Our family has so much fun there and every time we come home we can't wait to go back! So here is our family picture with Minnie. Rhett decided to get a little action while he was there. She is pretty irresistible!!

One of my favorite Characters to see! Mary Poppins! Lilly had so much fun talking to Mary and Burt. She even serenaded them with jingle bells and frosty the snowman. They were so funny and told her that she has a beautiful voice and after that comment we had a hard time getting her to stop singing so that we could take a picture!

This was one of Lilly's favorite rides! She had a blast driving the cars and kept bumping into the cars in front of her. I was a little worried she was going to get in trouble for being such a crazy driver but nobody seemed to care to much.

This was one of the highlights of the trip for Lilly. She is a huge Tinkerbell fan and we had a great time in Pixie Hollow with the fairies! This is one of Tinkerbell's friends, Silvermist!

And now for the main attraction! Tinkerbell!

Tinkerbell said she wanted a picture with Ruby but what she didn't know was that Ruby was very stinky at that point and in desperate need of a diaper change so we did the picture but told Tinkerbell she might not want to get to close!

The Happiest Place on Earth!

This post is in honor of one of my favorite places to visit. Call me childish if you like but I am a huge fan of Disneyland!! In eight days we will be heading off to he happiest place on earth once again because, well to be totally honest, we just can't get enough! So in honor of our long awaited vacation I am going to give you a real treat and do my own little countdown of the top eight reasons I love Disneyland!

8. The happy music that is constantly playing around the park and in the hotels. It really makes me want to put on the pretty white dress Marry Poppins wears in the "It's a Jolly Holiday"scene and tap tap my toes and dance.

7. Chocolate covered strawberries and cookies! These tasty morsels bring nothing but joy to my taste buds! They are sold all over the park at little bakeries and sweet shops. Yummm!

6. The Disneyland Hotel. Now this hotel is technically way out of our price range but so far we have found some great deals and have been lucky enough to stay there. I love the friendly service you get there, the glow in the dark Tinkerbell wall paper, walking under the giant mickey mouse hat while coming and going from the park and the the old time furniture and the cute little couch in the lobby where kids can sit and watch old mickey mouse cartoons while parents are checking in
.

5. Shopping! Need I say more.

4. The bright colors and cleanliness of the park. I love that Disneyland takes great pride in the way there park looks. Everything is pleasing to the eye. The paint on the rides and displays are constantly being touched up so everything always looks like new. Also, they keep the park pretty clean. Here is a random fact... did you know that there is no gum sold inside the park. This limits the amount they have to clean up off the ground. Smart I know!

3. Of course all the amazing rides! Because I am not a creative person the amount of creativity that goes into each rides boggles my mind. Some of my favorites include: Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan's flight and Alice in Wonderland.

2. Fantasy Land! I love fantasy land. Sitting on kids rides all day may sound lame to some but it is a tub full of fun to me! Those rides take me straight back to my childhood and the nostalgia puts a gleam in my eye and cheesy grin on my face. This land warms my childhood heart and makes me feel like I could definitely be 5 again.

1. The look on my girls face as we see their favorite Disney characters, go on the amazing rides, enjoy the feast of colors surrounding us and soak up every second we have together as a family!

It's Vegas baby!!!

This past weekend I had a blast on a little girls trip down to Las Vegas! We had such a good time together shopping, talking , shopping, checking out hotels on the strip, riding the roller coaster at the New York New York, shopping, eating at fun restaurants, exploring the M&M factory and did I mention shopping!! We had so many great adventures, from the magician that scuzed us off becase we only tiped him a dollar to the girl we found passed out in front of our hotel rooms just before we were leaving to check out. She had a little too much to drink and could barely remember her name let alone where she was or how she got there. We saw an amazing show while we were there, the Beatles Love by Circ De Soleil, it was so cool and really made me want to jump out of my seat and dance, dance, dance!

It was also perfect timing for me to go down because my sister Bonnie, who lives in Vegas, had just had her third baby a few days earlier so I was able to visit her and see her beautiful new baby girl. So much fun!! Thanks to all the girls who came. I feel very blessed to have good friends who I really enjoy spending time with, you are all amazing! Thanks for the insanely fun weekend!!!!

F.Y.I, it may look like a some of us might have engaged in drinking a few alocholic beverages but have no fear, they were only props, nobody but the girl passed out in front of our room had any booze!

Christmas!

Wow! Another Christmas come and gone! We had so much fun this year. I am always amazed at how fast the Christmas season goes by. We spent Christmas eve with both Rhett's and my family. We started out at Rhett's parents for dinner and fun with Santa, then ended up at my parents for cookies frozen hot chocolate (sounds weird but mmmmmmmm it's good) and some extreme sledding! Christmas morning was a bit of a let down, Lilly and I both woke up with the flu and unfortunately it kind of put a damper on the day and the amount of photo's that were taken, I think I took 3!

Lilly's face here pretty much sums up the day! By that night I was feeling much better and by the next day Lilly was back to her normal self bouncing of the walls, so we decided to join my family in park city to do some skiing. We had a blast. Lilly lasted for a whole 2 runs down the bunny hill and was spent!

OK this picture makes me laugh! Here we have Rhett the snowmobiler trying to be Rhett the skier. Everyone kept looking at his outfit and I swear they thought he was either some kind of pro ski racer or a big dork. Rhett's favorite line that day was "I don't know if you know, but, I'm kind of a big deal!" He was rooting for the pro racing skier look!

Rhett and I are so blessed to have wonderful families that we love spending time with, they really make the Christmas season great! I really look forward to the Holiday season each year just for that reason, being close to family and friends! We love you all!

Halloween and Happy birthday!

What a great Halloween. We really did it all this year, we trick-or-treated, trunk-or-treated, went to a great Halloween party, celebrated a birthday and ate way to many treats! Nothing but fun!

Lilly finally turned 4! She was very excited for this birthday because all her friends were four so she could not wait to be four herself. She is a wonderful little girl and a great blessing. We are so grateful for her outgoing personality, her loving little spirit and for her ability to make Rhett and myself laugh even when we are hoping mad.

Lilly we love you so much, you are a joy to have in our family!
